This is by far on of the most beautiful beaches I have visited and we have traveled a lot. The sand is so white and the water is so blue. It is just an amazing site. I am so glad that this is a national park and the Ministry of Tourism hasn't sold it off to the highest bidder. We snorkeled here for a while, but never made it to Gold Rock. We saw lots of interesting marine life.We rented a car for the day for $50, plus a $100 deposit. This was so worth it. We didn't want to leave. There are no facilities here so plan accordingly. Bring some food with you or drive another 6 miles to Bishops on the Beach in High Rock for a delicious lunch.

This beach was fabulous. We also did the kayak tour. The raccoons were awesome and my niece and nephew absolutely loved it. Our guide was phenomenal and very easy going considering my husband has a sense of humor that not all can fully grasp. This was the highlight of our vacation and made the trip memorable. The level of low water seems ideal for toddlers!

Every time we travel we seem to find better and better beaches. Let me assure you that a trip to this beach when you are staying on the island is worth it. My advice is to make sure you have at least 1/2 a day. We hired a cab who took us here. It is across the street from another local attraction. Ask the driver to leave you there and pick you up at a specific time. If you want the name and number of our guy let me know and we will send it to you. He was awesome.

Located inside the Lucaya National Park, this gorgeous beach is the filming location for Corona commercials. We go there every time we are on Grand Bahama to play in the water, walk the beach, bonefish, or just soak up the sun.

So we took the GB Nature Tours 5 hour kayak/cave tour and spent 1.5 hours here. It was the half way point and lunch stop on our tour....which happened to be on the coldest day Feb 19, 2015 for the island! We didn't notice, sunbathe and went in the ocean. This is where the Pirates II and III where filmed by Disney and it's spectacular, almost too perfect. Loved the beach, kept going and going, especially when the tide was way out.

November 2015 - our family group of 14 rented a private van and driver to tour the island. Lucky, our driver took us to many different attractions but the highlight for me was Gold Rock Beach. It was absolutely beautiful, truly an amazing area to enjoy. We toured the caves and then walked thru the mangroves until we hit this beautiful beach, we were so impressed at first sight. We arrived at low tide and were able to walk out a fair way into the water; soft sand, warm water and lots of sunshine, it's a win win, don't miss this trip to Gold Rock Beach!

A visit to Gold Rock Beach is a must! We rented scooters and spent an afternoon there, though tour and taxi options are available.

My husband and I visited this island for our honeymoon back in December and we fell in love with this beach! It is absolutely beautiful. We stepped on the beach and we both said "wow". We went here on a tour (which we highly recommend...Lucaya Nature Tour Kayaking one). We were here at low tide which again we highly recommend. The ripples are so cool and the beach is just amazing. A must go to!

We booked the Caves and Beach excursion through NCL last week amd thoroughly enjoyed it! We have been to Freeport on past cruises, but this was the MOST amazing day we have spent there. The caves are interesting, but when we walked across the street and down the boardwalk through the mangroves and caught our first glimpse of the beach, we were absolutely AMAZED at the beauty! There were only about 20 people there, so we were able to walk down the beach and take hundreds of photographs with no people in sight! The only slight inconvenience are the facilities, which consists of 2 compost-type toilets near the caves. We will definitely return to this natural beach and hope that it remains un-commercialized as it is today!

A must see if you are going to Grand Bahama. Skip the overcrowded and over commercialized beaches near Freeport and take the drive out to Lucayan National Park. You won't be disappointed!

This is the most beautiful beach I've ever been to! We were here on a cruise excursion in 2010 and I've always wondered what the name of the beach was. Now I know. As other reviewers have said, there are no words that can describe how truly beautiful this beach is. Go at low tide and yes you can walk for miles.

This is a glorious beach to walk for miles on. It's across the street from the caves so it's a twofer. Ask for Shalton Barr in town. He'll take you out there.

On a trip to Freeport earlier in January, my husband and I took a drive out to the east end of the island, making a brief stop at Gold Rock Beach. We had hoped to snorkel, but the wind was up and conditions a little too choppy to do so. However, we did enjoy a walk on this very beautiful beach filled with little sandbars and seemingly endless. The beach is fringed on one side by pine trees, an interesting find in the Bahamas. The beach was uncrowded and would, I am certain, be a lovely beach on which to spend a day. It is part of the Lucayan National Park, where you pay a $5 entrance fee to walk through the park, and Gold Rock Beach is about a 10 minute walk in from the road. There are no facilities on the beach itself, but there are washroom facilities at the entrance to the park. Definitely worth a visit.

Our travels have taken us to a lot of Caribbean beaches over the years. So glad that we decided to visit this one on our trip to Grand Bahama Island. Gold Rock Beach is just as gorgeous as all of the photos. What really struck me was how peaceful and quiet it was. The beach was practically deserted. Check the local tide chart and pack yourself a light lunch. You will not be disappointed. I would visit this island again just for this beach. This one is a keeper.

We went on the last day of our trip just to see what this was all about. I wish we had gone earlier. Rent a car so you can stay here as long as you want...we only had a couple hours with the tour/taxi. Check if the tide is out first though (ask a local). It was absolutely amazing to see and beats out all the beaches (I have seen many amazing ones) in the Caribbean.
