This place is really good and you get to learn about local History about the Family that lived there. They have plays there that you can sit outside and watch in the Summer

More a house than a museum still a must see if your in the neighbourhood.Close to the Grant river. Combine it with other attractions in the area.

Food was great - old fashioned home cooked feel consistent with the late 1800 atmosphere. Staff was friendly - spent time talking and learning about guests. Small lunch room able to handle small groups under 15. Not expensive for atmosphere at a National Historic Site - unusual!

We had a very nice meal at the Homestead Restaurant that is beside the Bell house. We had our Grandkids with us and they also enjoyed the visit. There were things set up for the kids to try . So if you want to have a look back at yesteryear, please check it out.

This is a wonderful place to check out when in the area. All you need is about half a hour to take it all in. There is a small admittance fee but worth checking out. Plenty of parking. A great place to learn the history of Alexander Graham Bell, his family and his contribution to the telephone. Being raised in Brantford in my youth and now living otherwise there is still things to be learned from going through the Bell Homestead.

For Alexander Graham Bell (Inventor of the telephone), I am sure at the time, it felt like a mansion, however in this day and age, the home is considered small, the tour takes maybe 10 minutes, not a lot of original furnishings, all are remodels, or replicas, stopping in would be a nice addition to a country drive, show the kids how it all started and what they are to be grateful for. the home is situated on a quiet side street, just between Brantford, St. George and Paris, it would make for a nice day trip.

Home of Alexander Bell for a short period when he invented the telephone. Nothing really to see besides a 10 minute walk through of the house and gift shop.

We were the only visitors that morning so we were fortunate to have an extended, personal tour given by an extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. Interesting artifacts, dating from 1870 when the Bell family immigrated from Scotland and Alec Bell's early experiments which led to the invention of the telephone, beautifully presented. There is a small gift shop and a cafe which is open during the summer season.

The telephone is an invention that has transformed our world. Yet, it's origin is somewhat humble. A visit to the Bell Homestead in Brantford Ontario will give an appreciation for the place where Bell first conceived of the idea of the device and made his early drawings. The home is well preserved, and is on a quiet street in a nice neighborhood that is off the main road. Go in the summer, when Bell would have gone. The area is still quiet and peaceful as it would have been in Bell's time. It is worth the drive even if only to enjoy the peaceful setting.

Brian and his staff are genuinely welcoming and knowledgeable. They make the history of Alexander Graham Bell come alive with interesting stories about his life and his family. This is truly a integral part of the history of Brantford, and much more than a museum or an archive of that time and place in our history.

Though quite a small attraction, the Bell Homestead is well done and well preserved with period furnishings. The land behind the homestead is giving way to the river and the land is quite small but it is nice afternoon stop for anyone looking to have a quiet afternoon tour.

A must see if in the area, we always take our visitors here. Allow for about an hour or so. Location is just outside of Brantford

I always wanted to visit this site, finally had the chance. First I was ushered to watch the video - 20 minutes. "The greatest Canadian". The tour guide told me AGB was actually British. Video started interesting but got boring and "over the top". It is also dating (e.g. Air Canada's 747 no longer in their fleet). But I enjoyed the tour and the look around. I had a lovely traditional morning tea. Could have been made by Mrs Bell herself.

It is really worth the stop to visit this historical site. The Bell Homestead was the home of Alexander Bell Sr. Without giving away the tour this is the home where Alexander Bell Jr. invented the telephone and many other things. When going in the centre we were greeted by a very nice young lady. The cost to see this attraction is only $11.00 for Adults and worth every penny. This cost includes a 10-15 minute video of the family and a personal tour of the Bell house. It also included access to the house next door. I am not going to tell you who owned it. You must go see this heritage site to learn more....It was fantastic.
