We tried this tea house after seeing the great reviews and we're very disappointed. The setting is gorgeous but the experience was very poor. I had asked for the gluten free option when I booked but received the regular sandwiches. For the price I expected more than store-bought tarts and fererro roche chocolates. The tea was nothing special. We were surprised to receive old Christmas gingerbread on the 7th of January. We were disappointed no one told us the gallery was closed when we called to book. Lovely pleasant service - but would not return. There are far better tea houses for low and high tea in the region.

All decorated for Christmas the lighted grounds are a special experience. You can drive through the gates and circle behind the mansion, if you wish you can make a donation to the Glenhurst Arts Gallery when you receive a hand out of the upcoming events.Go inside and view the artwork, have a coffee or hot chocolate - make it a Christmas tradition to visit this popular local tourist attraction. .

Beautiful space both inside and out. Always great events happening year round. Great space to rent for your own event

High Tea is a special tradition for my Mother and I. At this point, we consider ourselves amateur High Tea connoisseurs. :) The Golden Teapot is a wonderful place to enjoy a high quality and delicious High Tea. There is a small but pleasant selection of teas and coffees to choose from. Tea is served in a gold dimbula tea press. We were served some fresh fruit and veggies and a cracker with cheese and red pepper chutney. Next on a three tiered platter came a selection of sandwiches, scones, and sweets along with two choices of preserves and Devonshire cream. Everything tasted wonderful including a lemon scone that was one of the best scones I've ever had. I love details and The Golden Teapot has plenty. The presentation of all the food made it clear that a great deal of time and effort went into every aspect (the sandwiches and cheese were all cut into cute shapes). Overall everything tasted and looked great. We will definitely return to The Golden Teapot. We plan to try the Royal Kensington Tea.

We wanted a small gathering for the women in our family to celebrate my niece's upcoming wedding. We thought that an afternoon tea would be perfect way to do this without being too bridal-shower-ish. We were are so very thrilled with our tea at The Golden Teapot. Linda was an amazing hostess from the moment she greeted us at the door. The room is small but beautifully decorated. The table setting was stunning. We opted for a low-tea, and this was certainly enough to fill our tummies (I don't think we would have finished the high-tea option). The sandwiches and sweets were delicious, as was the tea. We had two girls, ages 6 & 7, and Linda accommodated them with PB&J and PB&banana sandwiches! She also brought out tiaras for them (flower-girls-to-be) and for the bride-to-be. Linda was so kind and attentive, she made our afternoon very special. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the Golden Teapot is. You must go. Go now.

I would never have found this place, were it not for a scheduled event of the Red Hat Society. (Thanks Belles!)I have had High Tea in several venues, including the Prince of Wales in Niagara-on-the-Lake, The Old Mill Inn and the Royal York Hotel in Toronto, and the Fairmont Empress in Victoria BC. I have no hesitation in saying that this quaint little tearoom can feel comfortable in the same group. Both service and food were fantastic! Do Yourself a favour, and make your way to the Golden Teapot..

Having enjoyed high tea at The Ritz in London I wasn't expecting The Golden Teapot to compete but I am pleased to report that the experience was way beyond expectations. From the friendly personal welcome provided by Linda to the incredibly chic tableware - everything was just perfect. If you go for the high tea option prepare to take a good appetite. Just because the sandwiches are dainty it doesn't mean that the meal leaves you hungry. There are several courses and as much tea as you can drink. If you want to treat a special lady in your life to an elegant dining experience this venue will create a special memory for years to come. The co-location with an amazing gallery in a beautiful historic building with nature trails on the doorstep makes this an irresistible attraction for all.

Beautiful and well kept gardens. Wonderful walking paths and sitting areas. Small museum has art produced by local artists. Be sure to visit lower gardens.

At Christmas time they have a huge light display to music. They also convert the tea house into a place to purchase Christmas gifts. In the summer, wedding photos are taken here and they have an art gallery in the main house (beautiful castle like), and a tea house to visit and sit for tea.

People of Brantford are missing the boat when it comes to Glenhyrst gardens. There's a fair bit of activity happening there but there's room for a lot more to enjoy. The yards will be coming alive soon, as they decorate for Christmas. You can also go into the gallery when visiting the Christmas scene, and enjoy a warm drink, and some fine artwork. The lower gardens also connect with a trail running along the river. During one visit I actually caught a glimpse of an Eagle as it swooped by. A variety of exciting things to do, so check into what they have to offer.

Fantastic service, relaxed atmosphere. The location is beautiful, and you are not rushed. It is truly a wonderful experience. I have been to the Golden Tea Pot on 3 occassions now with friends and would highly recommend it to anyone as a great experience.

An art exhibition and shop and also art classes in the ground keeper's house. Lovely gardens, lot of different trees and well groomed flower beds. A easy access to the river trails. Often has craft sales. Just a nice walk in the park.

Always a pleasant visit, but the best time to see the former Cockshutt family home and grounds is at the annual potter sale. Watch for it. Well worth planning your trip around it.

I was very impressed with the relaxed atmosphere of having lunch at the Golden Teapot. The service provided by Linda was wonderful! The lunch was delicious & an excellent choice of many flavors of tea. I will return & I highly recommend this lovely tea room to everyone. Linda D.
