Yoho is a beautiful park with outstanding hikes and views. The great thing about Yoho is the lack of crowds on the trails. The Ice Line and the trails around Emerald Lake are spectacular, especially once you get up and away from the main trails. The Park employees are great and very helpful with recommendations to get you to some of the more isolated places. Lake O'Hara is special and not to be missed.

Scenery is beautiful everything else was a disaster! Customer Service and attitude of the staff was horrible. When we woke up to no heat or hot water (it happens) not one person apologized or behaved as though they cared! Awful, awful, awful. We checked out early and went to Lake Louise Chateau and were treated wonderfully! Will never ever go back to Emerald Lake and will never recommend it to anyone!

Pretty quiet, a treasure gem, and old-fashioned compared to the modern and busy Banff National Park.

The word Yoho apparently means "awesome", and that sums up the experience of a visit here. You can choose between good daylong walks if you are fit enough, or sightseeing from several roadside locations in the area. If you have limited time go for the Takakkaw falls and the spiral tunnels - close to each other.

Liked: Good location for easy hikes. Wapta Falls, Golden, Vermillion Canyon..., Banff (Bow River), Morraine LakeDisliked: Good restaurants are hard to find.

Everything about hiking in Yoho is incredible. Less traffic, fewer tourists, better trails. Stay out of Banff and spend your tim Yoho. Lake O'Hara and Iceline trail are a must

What can I say other than this is one of the smallest parks in the Rocky Mtns but has some amazing sites. Most of the sites can be completed within a day so no really need to stay here unless you are looking at some of the longer back country hikes that the area has to offer. All the hikes are amazing in the area with some hidden gems along the way. Emerald lake, Natural land bridge, Wapta Falls, Twin falls and even Takakkawa Falls are the key highlights to this area. But don't forget Lake O-Hara right in the boarder and Spiral Tunnels for a bit of history. You will need to book early for Lake O' Hara is you need to take a bus in but can cross country ski here in the winter but not as nice as in the summer. Great Park!!

Takakkaw Falls are justly famous, and easily accessible by road. We enjoyed a meal at Cathedral Mountain Lodge on the way back. Wapta Falls are dramatic and well worth looking at from the top, the middle and the bottom. I fell in love with Emerald Lake and its surrounds. I highly recommend walking the circuit of the lake and seeing the different habitats. It's well worth keeping an eye out for the smaller wildlife on this walk: birds and squirrels. Don't miss the Natural Bridge, soon after the turn-off to Emerald Lake.

Like: access to spectacular mountains and excellent hiking trails, an excellent rv park in Field, plus guest houses/hotel as an alternative, great visitors' centre. Don't like: driving up/down the Kicking Horse canyon highway, unpredictable weather.

Like most places in Alberta, Canada, Yoho is chock full of brilliant vistas of lakes and mountains, creeks and wildlife. We saw it in Autumn; winter would be spectacular on a sunny day.

Driving through YOHO you get a real sense of the outback, definitely a trekkers dream with lots of trails and lovely little streams looming up everywhere. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip through and got some lovely pictures there.

Never heard of Yoho, but read about Emerald Lake Lodge in Oprah magazine years ago, so we had to go through Yoho to get to the Lodge. We ended up going to Takakkaw Falls and actually saw a freight train going through the Spiral Tunnels. Both were amazing. I want to go back next year and go to Lake O'Hara.

My husband and I did a seven day road trip from Vancouver to Calgary. The ever-changing scenery was breath-takingly beautiful, and we were fortunate to experience about four seasons in one week, with unseasonal snow falls in Banff and Canmore.

My husband does walk but not hike so this was strictly a sight seeing visit. We arrived at Takakkaw Falls around 4:30-5:00 p.m. which was a great time of day. Not many people and beautiful light. The drive back to the falls has some extreme hairpin switchbacks and warning signs advise bigger camper vans against attempting (disregarded by the large camper van trying to back down the swithcbacks after figuring out he really couldn't navigate the turns). There is a large parking lot. At this point you can see the falls off aways. The half mile walk back to the falls is on a paved path (wheelchair accessible) and follows a pretty mountain stream, crosses a bridge, and brings you right up to the the base of the falls. The scenery as you walk is just beautiful and of course the fall is magnificent. This was a great place to visit.Next we drove to Emerald Lake. By now it was maybe 5:30-6:00. Beautiful light at this time of day, allowing the beautiful green lake to reflect the gorgeous surrounding mountains. There were few other visitors at this point except for a tour group, so that was a plus. This is one of the most beautiful lakes we have ever seen. We walked around the lake a little, some on paved road and some on a dirt path. Just loved it here. Once we got away from the tour group we found it very peaceful and inspiring. Loved it here. Since we didn't have reservations for a place to stay this evening, we asked about a room at the lodge. Rooms were available and started at $385 CA. A bit too expensive for us so we had to travel on. Would have been a heavenly place to stay.

Yoho is beautiful. It is also not nearly as crowded as Banff and the Lake Louise are. Take a drive to Tokkokaw Falls, Emerald Lake or any of the many trails in the area and prepare to be wowed by the scenery. Beautiful!
