Thank you for your review, I can only hope that you also indulged in the Purely Chocolate options at the back of the menu along with your Cape Grim water - these are perfect for designated drivers. :) If not - maybe next time? Kind regards, Dee.

Thank you John for your review. Working weekends myself, I understand your challenges in finding that mid-week place to relax and take a breath. We are very happy that you found that with us. Kind regards Dee, Cellar Door Manager.

Stopped in for a wine and chocolate tasting on my way to Hahndorf and was very impressed. Their wines were quite good and for $5 you can taste 6 of them (4 whites & 2 reds). Our server was very responsible and started serving me significantly less when I mentioned I was driving, but before that they were very generous tasting servings. I also did a chocolate tasting - there were many options to chose from but I did a sampler of 4 different milk chocolates from around the world. There are many different chocovino packages to choose from (ones that match with wine, multiple chocolates with one or two wines, just chocolate, etc) so there's something to suit just about everyone. The waitstaff was very attentive and incredibly knowledgeable about the wines and chocolate they were serving.Prices were quite reasonable - $5 for wine-only tasting, chocovino ranging from $13-30ish.The last chocovino serving starts at 4 (the winery closes as 5) so don't wait til the end of your day to visit!

Came to experience wines not so commonly found in NZ-esp veltiner-went for the platter with matched wines.host attentive but not overbearing at all-just us and another couple doing the same thing.decking fully enclosed with air cond makes for a very pleasant dining experience.overlooks the vines with guinea fowl dealing with some of the pests.Tour group arrived while we were there but they were taken to separate tasting room and didn't interfere with our experience.Platter very tasty and was just the right amount for the two of us.

The ChocoVino experience at Hahndorf Hill Winery matches two of their boutique wines to four of the world's most acclaimed chocolates and has been included in CNN's 'Top 10 global adventures for chocoholics'. Yes, once again Adelaide is proven to be world class! Plus we were privileged to have the opportunity to drink Cape Grim water, the only bottled rain water in the world, clean enough to be approved by the Health Departments of the USA, EU, Australia and Japan. This water is so pure it cannot even be used for the production of beer! We also tasted a number of different wines. Overall an outstanding experience in beautiful surroundings.

Came to try the choco vino experience and the Gruner veltiner. Hahndorf Hill's gruner is the best we've tasted of various Adelaide Hills wineries, in my opinion.Choco vino experience offers various different themed chocolate and wine pairings priced about $20 to $25 a set. We tried a white wine pairing set. The novelty of the experience is worth trying once, the beautiful view from the cellar door is integral to the experience.

Loved the chocolate and wine tasting flight. Host very informative and friendly but not overly imposing. Views are wonderful, the wines equally and watch out for the chilli chocolate, its got a kick in it.

We went to this winery especially to try their Austrian varieties - zweigelt and gruner veltliner - having tried them first hand in Austria, and we weren't disappointed. They'd sold out of the top line of gv but the others were excellent. There's platters available, and the dining area has a glorious view out over the vineyard. The art exhibition upstairs was really interesting - not my style, but very worthwhile examining.

Thank you for visiting Hahndorf Hill and I am delighted that you enjoyed your experience. Regarding the $20 price per person for ChocoVino, it is actually very good value, as you receive the equivalent of a restaurant serve glass of wine, a bottle of the world’s purest water as your palate cleanser, and also a selection of the world’s most acclaimed chocolate imported from the top chocolate houses overseas. We would love to see you visit us again. Kind regards, Dee, Cellar Door Manager

My wife and I heard great things about this place and wanted to try it for ourselves. What an experience, the location, the food, the service all excellent. We tried the chocovino experience in the viewing room and it lived up to and exceeded all expectations. The wine and the chocolate are delicious, and the story you are told of the history of the products you are experiencing just adds that extra dimension to the chocovino experience. If you are in Hahndorf, enjoy wine and chocolate, do yourself a favour and visit this winery, you will not regret it.
