A nice place to see landscapes in Cali is Cristo Rey. Friends, couples and family go to this place to enjoy the views. The road to the place is unfortunately not the best.

Our visit to the monument of Cristo Rey was early in the morning. It was very quiet and no traffic at all. The view was magnifique. The temperature was nice. The climb was an exercise for us, who are not used with climbing. But as we arrived it was worth the effort. It's a pity we had no one to guide us and tell us more of the history of the monument. As we understand a little spanish we could read a part of the history written on big boards. A group was praying their rosary so we showed respect and tried not to disturb. But it is an amazing view the Christ with his arms widely spread as to welcome you and the world into His arms. He is looking after the city of Cali and as you stand there you can see the beautiful city in the valley.

This is the best monument in Cali, Colombia (probably the only). This monument is a flawless structure of the Jesus Christ resembling the one in Brazil but with totally different surroundings and most likely smaller in size. I enjoyed the trip up to the structure. There is no traffic or lines during the week. You can a taxi from the city, most taxi driver charge by the hour (30,000 pesos) or they may let the meter run ( which ran me around 25,000 pesos). I went up the first time in disappointment because they had a painting project going on (so beware) and you may want to inquire before going up. Luckily I was in Cali for a month and had a second opportunity to go up and an even sunnier day to take nice photos and enjoy the fresh air of being away from the city a bit. It cost an additional 2,000 pesos for your taxi to park. It is a must see to highlight your stay in Cali and doesn't require much of your time to get done. Happy Travels!!!

a great overlook of Cali in this Rio-like Jesus on the mountaintop. Everyone is very quick to say it's only 6 meters less tall than the one in Rio but I haven't confirmed this, it's definitely worth the view.

I live in NY but I'm from Cali and this was my first time there and I'm very impressed, the city looks beautiful, The Christ is majestic. The food is delicious... I totally recommend this place, is safe... I was nervous... But I'm glad we went! Eat the Arepas ... I'm still dreaming about those!

Driving up is easy and the views from the statue are stunning. Worth the trip to see the Western mountains that Cali abuts.

Best to go late in the afternoon with a sweater. Lovely view of the city and nice ambiance. However the city needs to make some improvements as flags are deteriorated. The area needs a revamp. It is free.

When in Cali, going to Cristo Rey can't be missed. I took a tour with Marvel Tours Cali (marveltourscali.com). My bilingual guide, Oscar, was great in explaining the history and area surrounding Cristo Rey. He took the time to get perfect pictures of us in front of Cristo Rey, so that our memories of our visit would be remembered for years to come. The view from Cristo Rey is spectacular! All of Cali can be seen. The historical significance of Cristo Rey is very impressive and Oscar was able to convey that to us. The dirt sculptures on the way to Cristo Rey are very impressive also. Cristo Rey is a must-see and one of only 3 in the world. Well worth the trip.

Definitely worth the ride, climb, hike or however you choose to get there. Cristo Rey may not be as large as Cristo Redentor in Brazil but I promise the view of the entire city of Cali is awesome and worth getting your picture taken there.I enjoyed the ride I took in a cab and stopped to take pics with friends and family. I was also blessed to have been able to talk to the self-made artist who was sculpting a large monument which now sits by the road on your way up/down from Cristo Rey. I predict the sculptures he is making around the city will son turn into tourist attraction as well. I was awed by the meekness and humbleness of the artist carving such a huge monument and painting it without any government funding. On our way down we saw places to eat pizza ( colombian versión) and other local food. Another stop on our way down is an old restaurant on the right hand side of the road from which nice pics of the view of the city may be taken.

This can be a day trip. On your way up to Cristo Rey, there's a resort called PachaMama. It's located on grounds where the indegionous used to inhabit. They have cabanas, the views are spectacular, spas and restaurant are located there. Once at Cristo Rey, you can freely take pictures and appreciate the view of Cali. I recommend going at sunset. It's equally as beautiful in the day as at night. On the way up/down there are cool brick ove pizza spots with views of Cali also. Cristo Rey is gated and has guards/watchmen monitoring the site. It's great to be able to go up there. I always wanted to but wasnt safe. Good changes in Colombia and im so happy about that!

If you want to experience the magnificence of our city, YOU definitely have to go to Cristo Rey. It has a wonderful view of the entire city, being this the place where you can appreciate how the flavor of our salsa touches the sky....

The monument itself is enough reason to visit. I would say that is a must do while visiting Cali. The view atop is incredible, it extends past Cali to nearby cities in Valle del Cauca. I had to convince a taxi driver to take me there, wait for me and bring me back down. There's no public or touristic transport going up, so taxi is your best bet. The fare was ok, but agree on a price prior going.

This was really cool and you get a different perspective of the city from the top. If you only have time to go to Las 3 Cruces or Cristo Rey, I would choose the hike to the 3 cruces, but if hiking isn't your thing or you're really crunched on time, then drive up to the top and spend an hour or two with the view!!
