This is an very impressing place to see, with art and artifacts all over its almost required to visit this place more than once. I had a great time for hours walking around this huge place which is open to public from the church floor to the spire with the bells. Especially one of the bells there is worth seeing because of its nearly 400 years history.

Beautiful facade and plaza outsideThe inside nothing spectacular and no fotos inside. Lots of souvenir shops in the side street but nothing notable.

This church is close to the witch market which is an area packed with attractions. The crurch itself is old and the interior is very well preserved. The outside is really intricate and just looking at the entrance is a treat.

The San Francisco church as it stands today is built on the site of an earlier one which was destroyed during a massive snowstorm that collapsed the building. The tour includes access to the bell tower. English speaking guides are available, though they are provided gratis tips are always appreciated.

San Francisco is a central spot with lots of activities. Nice place to people watch. We had no problems but do get local advice on safety if you'll be there late in the evenings or at night.

I came to the church in the evening towards the end of a service. I only had about 20 minutes inside so we quickly made a round and ended up seeing most of the statues displayed. The day must have been quite sacred beause there was this little candle filled room that people were crawling into, but we didn't have time to go inside. As we were all filing out of the church, they turned off the lights and everyone was scrambling to get out in the dark, which lead to a creepy sort of vibe. If I end up going back to Bolivia, I am definitely going to make it a point of visiting again and see some of the things I had missed.

The church itself is big and is nice to see all the people around it, when I went for the first time there was a graduation going on and it was cool to see the locals there celebrating however the church itself is nothing extra special in terms of architecture or internal decoration. However I love that area, it has a cool street just by it which is perfect to walk around, buy local souvenirs, have a coffee and just chill, I other often on the weekends, love the area to walk.

The Church is quite impressive all though a lot smaller than I was expecting. Next door there is a museum with a wide collection of art that was pretty good. I actually preferred the Basilica further up the road.

Really like how the church makes a real effort to educate people on the history of la paz and the region as you tour through the church. They have signs in English, spanish, and French so you know exactly what you're looking at. Definitely go to the bell tower to look out over the square. Only con is they don't let you go all the way up, just to where the bells are. People working here are also super friendly which is always a plus

Nice place to vista for an afternoon if you get stuck out in the rain. Some nice architecture, gives a brief history of La Paz and has some very nice art work.

It is an icon of La PAz, Life generates around it. The barroque architecture is very pretty and its shear size imposes, The altar is gorgeous. It is a must see.

We first went into the church and that was spectacular. I am non religious but this church is very impressive. It is very ornate with lots of gold leaf adorning the many saint platforms. The alter was beautiful and inspiring. Right next door is the museum. This is a MUST see. It was 20 bolivianos and for this we got an English speaking guide. He was very knowledgable about the church and gave us a information filled tour. The most valuable part of the tour was the huge amount of original religious artworks, the many artefacts and ornaments on display and the amazing access to the original parts of the monastery, particularly the pray rooms, roof and bell tower. Our guide was knowledgable, interacted well and answered our questions. The tour lasted just under an hour and we could not recommend this venue more highly.
