Golden Horn Bay is the heart of Vladivostok. Russian Empire always wanted to own Constantinople with its Goldern Horn Bay but the dream never came true. Unrealeased desire pushed Russia to give the same name to its own bay. The bridge across Golden Horn Bay was built for the APEC summit and now is the main symbol of the city. Trading port and fishing port are situated within the bay, there are also some dockyards.

The bay surrounding the coastal city of Vladivostok is quite beautiful and if you can look past the naval dockyards with its cold war relics and modern fleet area you can see that many high rise apartments are being built to take advantage of the surrounding views.There are many inlets to enjoy leaving the port and the sunsets were magnificent.Smaller ferries overloaded with people ply between different parts of the area.We saw it from a cruise ship so we don't know if there are any boat services to take you out on the water but it would be a nice ride.Enjoy your visit!

А как придумать лучше название, чем уже есть? Это еще не океан, но уже и не море. Лучший вид на бухту открывается с Токаревской косы. Добраться до косы лучше на автомобиле, как и во всем городе.

Это длинная узкая бухта к северу от пролива Босфор Восточный Японского моря. Удобное место стоянки судов. Здесь расположены торговый и рыбный порты, судоремонтные предприятия. Через бухту проложен вантовый Золотой мост. Бухта вдаётся в северный берег пролива Босфор Восточный между мысом Тигровый и мысом Голдобина. С северо-запада бухта ограничена полуостровом Шкота. В 1856 году судно «Винчестер» из состава англо-французской эскадры, искавшей Российскую эскадру во время Крымской войны, посетило бухту Золотой Рог. В то время бухта имела лишь китайское название Хайшэнвай, в переводе означающее «Бухта трепангов». Англичане назвали её Порт Мэй. В 1859 году генерал-губернатор Восточной Сибири Николай Николаевич Муравьёв-Амурский, обходя на пароходо-корвете «Америка» берега залива Петра Великого, обратил особое внимание на хорошо укрытую бухту. Она напоминала бухту Золотой Рог в Стамбуле, и генерал-губернатор предложил назвать её так же, а на берегах бухты приказал основать военный пост, названный Владивостоком.

Как абориген - не променяю этот вид ни на один уголок в мире! Завораживает со всех сторон: хоть вид сверху - с видовой площадки, хоть при входе в бухту, особенно после долгого отсутствия у родных берегов, хоть днём, хоть ночью!!! Наверное такую же бурю восторга я испытала при заходе в порт Сиднея, но там я была всего один раз, а здесь я не устаю восторгаться уже 45 лет!!!
