Visited yesterday and met the very enthusiastic and interesting owner. A small but fun museum with plenty of souvenirs, trinkets and exhibits from the fascinating Soviet past.Would recommend for an hour or two.

I understand the museum will give more perspective to those that lived in those era and with the things shown in the museum but it's still great fun to walk around, play with the things on display. Great reminiscences of thing from our past with interesting exhibits.

Had a great time in this small but interactive place. The displayed items caused some nostalgia and created a great museum effect. The youn lady working there was really congenial.

The title of the museum pledges various stuff about Soviet life, but what you see is just some toys, instruments (remnants of foreign singers), badges. And half of the stuff is not very original. Moreover, the museum is not like a museum, it's very small and it takes maybe half an hour to see everything at most.

I've never been to a museum quite like it. It feels more like a hoarders attic but slightly better organised when you first go in. There is, apparently random, stuff everywhere and the idea seems to be more to 'get the feel of' the time and place rather than learn anything/have a structured visit. It was interesting seeing all the artefacts of everyday life but I'd have loved to have had more information. On the other hand, it was unusual and interesting to be able to touch almost all the exhibits - try on clothes and play games! However, if you're on your own, as I was you're probably going to be feel too embarrassed to really get the most out of that side of things. This probably isn't going to satisfy the 'traditional' museum goer (such as myself) but it is a fun and interesting enough place to visit if you're not seeking a highly organised or highly informative museum. My advice - take a friend and a camera.

This was fun and extremely interactive. Visitors are encouraged to dress up in old costumes to be photographed and there are many interesting reminders of life in the former Soviet Union. This is not for lovers of more formal exhibitions!

The best place to feel like in USSR. Every little showpiece is an original part of the past! Even the bathroom is decorated like it was 60 years ago.

Currently teaching in Russia. Visiting Kazan with my wife who is visiting. We were brought here by a group of University students from Kazan. This place is amazing! Tons of music/rock and roll memorabilia....a denim/Levis collection...really interesting signs, toys, uniforms. The owner is a really wonderful guy---really passionate about his collection. He'll stop and talk to you about all kinds of things. If you're looking for gifts, there are tons of patches, buttons, magnets for sale...some kitschy, some very cool. Don't miss it!!!

What was mundane life like in the Societ era? What did people wear? What was on the television? What do Lada badges look like? Many of the local young people seem to like this museum. So did I.

Wow! Such an amazing place filled with so many exciting things! Museums are never as much fun as this one! The owner speaks English and is great to talk to, he even gave me a gift! You will walk out of there smiling like an excited child. You must visit if in Kazan!! Especially if you like rock music!

I've been in this museum with my mom and aunt, who were absolutely thrilled, because every exhibit was familiar to them or thy even had the same in the past! There are lots of old soviet toys, clothes, electronics and even food-examples! So interesting! Honestly, I saw it all in my life many times, but I have never seen them collected together. The owner of the museum did a great job creating very atmospheric place! One part of the museum can be interesting to music fans is the collection of the jeans of soviet and russian rock-stars! So, if you are in Kazan do not forget to check on this soulful small museum - the entrance fee is super-low and the emotion you got there is huge!

Small but full of "anything" belonging to the Sovier era (especially in the 80s). It is interesting to compare what are memories of western childhood & teenager time with the Soviet toys and icons. There are some items for sale such as pins. www.muzeisb.ru

Open the door and step into the past. The only difference from Soviet days, is the warm welcome you'll receive from Director Rustem Valiakhmetov who hopes for more visitors, even from Western Europe. This museum is well-worth the half hour it takes for a leisurely visit. Take the time to pause at the various exhibits, imagining what life used to be like. And say hi to Rustem from his first friends from Norway !
