On a recent Ski Holiday we took a day off and visited the beautiful city of Thun and its fantastic Castle.The view of the Bernese Oberland from their Castle is breathtakingly and the Old City shops are two tier and in a cobbled car free area.The main street a los had a large street market.Well worth the trip and try Spiez as well for a relaxed view of the Thunersee.

It was raining like a monsoon when we arrived, looking for a place of interest that offered cover - it certainly did not disappoint! There is an interesting mix of original castle and ducal palace. It stands high on the mountainside and, unless you require disabled parking, there is a steep but well-prepared path leading up to it. A bus service runs from the lower car parks for which you pay €1 per person, or you can drive up to the start of the pedestrian path. Note that carpark 2 is free but you pay to park nearer the top.Outside, the castle grounds are very impressive and will allow young children to run about a bit. The café serves a good range of food and drink and has inside and outside seating. A visit here would satisfy children and adults alike and it is well worth the drive up the valley. Entry to this attraction is free with the "Trentino Card", which also offers free public transport and entry to many other attractions and museums across the region.

Despite a rather grueling hike in 33 degrees up to Castel Thun beforehand, it was certainly not to be missed. The stunning grounds provided the dramatic panoramic views of the Val di Non countryside as well as carefully crafted gardens. Inside, the Castel had been thoughtfully renovated to mix a modern approach with the old fashioned style of the building where staff were eagerly on hand to answer any question and made a huge effort to impart some knowledge about the beautiful castle. Each room was well preserved with information boards in three languages and provided a well-rounded history of the Castel. There is also a gift shop and a café with lovely outdoor seating to surround yourself in the landscape the Castel has to offer.

It was very nice to see the castle furnished as it was in the 1800's and earlier. Very beautiful. We paid for the audio tour and it was cleverly done as if the last count was guiding the visit.

There is plenty to see ,nice place to spend a morning or an afternoon. The castel is beautiful, and a great place to visit. There is plenty of staff that are more than happy to reply to any question you might have.. Very pleasant and interesting visit

we spent a lovely morning inside this charming castle. It's been recently renovated. All rooms have been perfectly preserved. You can also find a small café and of course a gift shop. Toilettes are very clean. Be sure not to miss the surroundings: apple orchards all around!

Gorgeous views, Castel Thun was actually lived in until the late seventies, my favorite rooms were the 2 kitchens. Watch the videos to appreciate the history of the castle.

Bel castello,tenuto in maniera esemplare,pulito ma troppo freddo! Ad ogni piano vi si può trovare una guida, nota dolente,è possibile scattare foto ma senza il flash e in alcune stanze è davvero impossibile avere uno scatto poichè troppo scure,altra nota negativa il parcheggio a pagamento! L'importo inferiore è 0.75 per 30 minuti e tariffa oraria 1.50 più il costo del biglietto del castello ( 4euro) perchè alcune zone sono chiuse per manutenzione..

Davvero un posto meraviglio, sembra il castello delle favole di cui ci raccontano da bambini, poiché Il castello sorge sulla sommità di una collina che domina l'intera Val di Non, vista spettacolare.Consigliamo la visita guidata in compagnia del Conte Matteo (audio guida) come consigliamo vivamente se lo visitate in inverno di coprirvi molto bene in quanto non é riscaldato.

Il castello si trova poco distante da Trento e vale sicuramente la pena di visitarlo, perché è in ottime condizioni e gli arredi interni sono stati preservati.La visita dura almeno un'ora ed il costo del biglietto è di 6 euro, ma con due euro in più si può noleggiare un'audioguida che accompagna il visitatore durante tutta la visita del castello. La guida è recitata da bravissimi attori che impersonano il più illustre proprietario del castello e altri personaggi. Il castello si affaccia sulla vallata sottostante ed offre una magnifica vista del massiccio montuoso alpino.

Alloggiando a Fondo abbiamo deciso di visitare il castello. Le indicazioni per raggiungerlo sono molto chiare. Consiglio di lasciare la macchina al secondo parcheggio che si incontra, appena sotto al castello; il parcheggio è a pagamento (1,50€ all'ora, conviene fare almeno due ore). Il Castello si raggiunge con una passeggiata a piedi che attraversa un boschetto. Per visitare il castello, penso che l'audioguida non sia fondamentale, data la ricchezza di pannelli illustrativi. Molto bello anche il video che ripercorre la storia della costruzione del castello. Sale molto ricche dell'arredamento, tutto è molto ben tenuto. Consiglio di vestirsi pesanti perché all'interno fa abbastanza freddo. Il panorama attorno al Castello è eccezionale. Da vedere assolutamente se si è in Val di Non.

Sono stata in questo bellissimo castello in occasione di una vacanza in Val di Non. Bellissima la passeggiata tra i meli in fiori per arrivare al castello. Noi siamo entrati gratis, grazie a una convenzione dell'Hotel e regione Trentino. Comunque sia, la visita vale la pena anche se fosse a pagamento. Positiva la possibilità di avere una guida in autonomia (con cuffie). Il castello è davvero meraviglioso..uno dei più belli e soprattutto ben tenuti in Italia. Le stanze davvero magiche, ti permettono di fare un tuffo nel passato! Bellissimo anche l'esterno e il panorama! Assolutamente da vedere!!!

in occasione di un soggiorno al rifugio sores di tres, abbiamo effettuato la visita a questo splendido castello. Spettacolare la posizione, perfettamente raggiungibile con una breve passeggiata, dopo aver lasciato l'auto nel parcheggio. Considerate due ore di parcheggio a pagamento perchè la visita vale la pena di farla con calma. Ci sono tante sale da vedere, il personale è disponibile a spiegare curiosità e particolari. Il piano nobile è strepitoso, l'arredamento è curato. Maestose le stufe a olle , vasta la cucina "nuova" e al piano terra un forno a cupola. Sono uscita molto infreddolita ma ne è valsa la pena.
