Visited the Jules Verne House while in Amiens. Very interesting! Disappointed that I could not take photographs inside and the post card selection in the gift area did not have many inside photographs either.Hard to believe the house was built in the late 1800's and that the books were also written in that era. Wished the gift shop had English versions of the books for sale.

Brilliant. The staff were most helpfull and my wife was able to use a lift to reach all floors. The layout was interesting and the exhibits were very good.Definitely worth a visit.

It surprised me how much my 10-yr-old enjoyed wandering Jules Verne's house. It's not the most inspiring place in the sense that it's essentially a stultified 19th century house - but it is certainly interesting to visit and to see where Verne lived and to observe all the curios and paraphernalia of his life. There's also a little area by the till at the entrance where visitors can buy beautiful hardback copies of Verne's works for a very reasonable 7 Euros each (from memory). Think the place would really benefit from a nice cafe in the courtyard. If the museum was in the UK that would be where most of the revenues would be generated, I suspect.

I went to Amiens to tour the WWI battlefields in the area & because of its location kinda close to Paris. I was surprised to find that it was also Jules Verne central - the University is named after him and there was a little spot on the map called Mas de Jules Verne that I wandered down to see on my last day there. Turns out he lived for several of his most productive writing years in Amiens and is buried near by. Much of his time in Amiens was spent in this lovely home where many of the rooms are decorated in period style. For more fun tho check out the other rooms that display posters for Jules Verne inspired movies, books & illustrative book covers, flying machine & ship models and other proto science fiction memorabilia. The spiral staircase uniting the 3 or 4 floors and a room witih port holes are nice nautical touches.

An interesting house where you climb spiral stairs and view the many books written by Jules Verne. The books display amazing covers and one can imagine Mr Verne writing at his desk in his home. Great insight into the author. Well worth a visit.

This very personal and cosy house is full of interest . There are lots of Jules Vernes' own things and also those of his editor . The house is on several floors and each is dedicated to a different aspect of his life . Most of the information is in French and English . Bookshop and vending machines and seats for a drink

This is a well laid out house with lots of interesting information. It is a bit of a walk from the centre of Amien but well worth it. The staff are helpful and friendly

We enjoyed thus splendid house, even though we had not read his books. We felt that some of the exhibits were not directly relevant - there was an awful lot about the publisher, but it was all very interesting, and well presented. We were both inspired to read some Jules Verne afterwards. It would be good if the shop sold some English copies of the books - they are missing a trick there!

Not knowing a lot about Jules Verne I found this museum extremely interesting and very informative. We did the audio-tour which took about an hour. The staff were helpful and could speak English. If you are open to new experiences then I highly recommend this attraction. Easy walking distance from the Cathedral.

We visited Jules Verne's house for something to do on a rainy day but was pleasantly surprised. We found out a lot about the man himself that we never knew and there are many interesting objects in his house. Our only disappointment was the banning of photography in the house. There are quite a few large models of the machines featured in his books and I would have like to take a few photographs. The house is certainly worth a visit.

Well preserved traditional house of Jules Verne. I'm not a massive fan of the author however I did enjoy the tour of the house. Worth a visit.

We were educated a lot more about the capacity of Jules Vernes for writing and use of imagination. Friendly staff and our children loved the attic he wrote in

Although I considered the entrance fee a little bit to much, it is a very interesting detour to make at this home of Jules Verne. It takes you to a short time-travel to his time-period, to a house full with early 20th century style interior, to bits of Verne's fantasy world and everyday-life, to little relics for a Verne fan.

This is worth the visit. Interesting guy and the museum does a good job of reflecting the work and personality of Jules Verne.
