Between being able to tour the whole house with an excellent host that was left intact with books on the shelves and clothes in the closet, spectacular. I felt as if I was walking in the wake of someone who had just left that morning. The table was set ready for dinner that evening and in the kitchen, the original stove [wood burning] at that and all original furniture from around 1903 is a must see in OKC!

The resident tour guide, Lisa did a fantastic job to really keep our interest. Her knowledge of the home and it's history was amazing. I will definitely bring my visiting family to see it. A must see in our book of places to see in OKC.

this is wonderful way to get insights into Oklahoma City's early 20th century history. we visit OKC every year to see family, and for the first time visited the Overholser Mansion. the docent/curator/guide was terrific - very enthusiastic and knowledgeable, full of fun stories and she managed to convey lots of interesting information without overwhelming us. it was a delight to walk through the mansion, which is in remarkably good shape and full of early 20th c. items. it's in a nice neighborhood for a stroll and not far from places to eat. the only drawback is that the walking tour is not accessible. it's easy walking, and does include some steps. well worth the time, and small fee. so glad we finally made it!

The Overholser Mansion is a nice tour if you are inthe area, it takes about 1/2 an hour and the tour leaves on the hour.

We toured the Overholser Mansion, and loved not only its architecture, but its history as well. Lisa, our host for the tour, was extremely knowledgeable and was a delightful guide. The Overholser is a true jewel of OKC, and is worth a visit. We loved it!

The mansion was great but the neighborhood is what we really loved as we walked around viewing all the mansions in the area. Well worth our time

Even my kids liked this one - 19, 16, 10 years of age. Beautiful, seems untouched, a treasure cemented in time. Hostess took time to warm up, but once she became comfortable, she was a joy to hear the stories from surrounding this family. Her knowledge of the history of this place is vast. We were allowed to spend as much time as we liked looking at the artifacts and going up and down the stairs to view the rooms. The bottom floor was really untouched as the daughter of the family lived on the second floor with her husband and they had no children. When she died, he remarried two times, but ended up donating all belongings (clothing, original china/dishes/trinkets/linens, furniture, etc.) to the Historical Society. It truly is amazing. Even the carpet is original. This is a must see for history buffs and society buffs, and kids that like seeing how people lived long ago. VERY NEAT.

It's not just an old house!! It's a view into life in OKC America in the days of Downton Abbey. The heir sold it with everything inside--original chandeliers, rugs, furniture, clothes, & the china--omg! We got inspiration for restoring our own 100 year old OKC house. The history of the mansion, the family, OKC, etc. provided by the excellent tour guides made it come alive. Better than expected, time well spent!

Right in the heart of Oklahoma City lies this gem of an historical mansion. Between the original furnishings of the house and the knowledgeable, enthusiastic tour guides, this is a must see attraction when visiting the city!

What a breathtaking home. Beautiful inside with great history. So many antiques inside it's incredible. The tour guides were very nice too. Highly recommend to those who love history.

The Overholser Museum is located in the Heritage Hills historic district. In my opinion, of the museums and attractions in OKC, this would be in the Top 3 of all attractions. Tours are currently offered Tuesday-Saturday from 10 am-2pm at the top of each hour and the entrance fee is $10 for adults. The mansion is closed the month of January and in bad weather, so it may be best to call first to confirm that days tour hours in inclement weather. Free parking is available in the neighborhood around the mansion. The tours start at the carriage house office. This is where I met my guide and a wonderful host, Lisa Escalon. The carriage house was the original horse barn with many original articles along with items of memorabilia from the house, like photos, clothing, newspaper clippings, and the horse buggy used by the Overholser family. We then headed to the main mansion tour. I arrived for the first visiting time and was fortunate to get my own private tour. As soon as you walk through the door on the main level and throughout the entire house, up the grand stair case, the bedrooms, waiting rooms, kitchen, playrooms were just stunning. The original carpets, curtains, furniture, electrical appliances and gadgets around the house are in immaculate condition and I was told to date, very little effort has been taken to keep most of the items around the house in mint condition as they have maintained their durability since the Overholser family spared no expense to have the best materials from all over the world shipped here to the house. The Overholser Mansion is a hidden and underrated gem in the city. My pictures and others posted on TA do not fully show or explain the sheer beauty of this place. Head over to this mansion and get the real feel of how the wealthy lived and entertained during this time period of the mansion. Lisa’s has so much knowledge and energy about the mansion one can’t but help to envelope her enthusiasm of the place. Lisa was a great guide and though the tour takes under an hour, we talked so much about the history of the mansion, to things around the OKC area and her insights; we talked for well over an hour and could have talked even longer. It’s easy to see how she started as a volunteer and is now the Coordinator of the Mansion and a Preservation OKC Staff member. I had a great visit and would highly recommend the Overholser Mansion as one of the top attractions in OKC and a must see!

I've lived in the OKC area my entire life, but just recently visited this beautiful home. The entire Heritage Hills area is just lovely and this place is the icing on the cake. OKC was settled in 1889. This was considered the country back then. I would love to live in this area.

This place is very historically significant to the city of Oklahoma, but more over it is also a very neat place to visit. The mansion is beautiful from the outside and so are the surrounding grounds. But inside is even better due to the fact that most of the furniture, wall coverings and household goods are original to the mansion and have not been restored because the family took great care of these items. The staff is very knowledgeable about the history of the mansion and family. I have to give the staff an extra thanks because we arrived just at closing time and they still gave us a quick tour of the place. So next time I will have to return for the full tour. Thanks again for everything.

What a great find. We had a few hours in OKC and found thus tour. Amazing house with mostly original items from the home and original family. Tour guide was great and really knew about the house and family. Highly recommend.

This is a must-see for the historical or architectural enthusiasts. (Our teen loved it as well!) We booked the tour in advance due to a busy season, and they were exceedingly accommodating for our health challenges and time constraints. Our tour guide was a wealth of knowledge, provided a phenomenal tour, and gave us time to see every single detail we wanted to see. We'd go back in a heartbeat. She also guided us to our next stop to local flavor restaurants, recommended historic B&B lodging, and served as a travel agent of sorts on the spot. VERY impressed. Don't miss this stop!
