bonita golf club

I have played Bonita over 50 times. The course has seen much improvements. The greens are in good shape, new tee boxes, new landscaping. Bonita, the course is fun. The new driving range has been turned into one of the more user unfriendly I have used. Why spend all that time n money putting in new tee boxes, etc while at the same time make it absurd to use. No consideration for the customer. Inconvenient, not handicap friendly. You can not get a cart near the range so your forced to carry your bag. You can't use a debit/credit card to get range balls. You have to trek to the other end to buy your token@the pro shop. Their is no steps to the raised tee box. No handicap ramp, just a steep slope. No benches, no trash cans, no club cleaners, no shade. And I've been told by the extremely sarcastic, borderline rude pro shop ( I play Saturday mornings) you can't have a cart until after you use the driving range. And when I query for the reason I'm quoted "it's policy" Yet I've seen the same pro shop employee give carts to others prior to their use of the driving range. So I'm guessing I didn't know the secret password to get a cart like the others. I have heard similar comments made from several people. The old tee box and set up was far better than this new not user friendly range. They sure didn't have their customers in mind when they made these changes. Whoever signed off on this new range, in my opinion, had their head up their you know what.

Drinks and food are average but go perfectly with local music, which they have often. This is a great place to hang out with friends on a spring or summer evening. I do recommend this for a quality, quick breakfast with a nice view of the golf course. I'm not a golfer so can't comment on that aspect. I have been to many events here and they do a great job with those.

Now here is a public golf course that is user friendly. I mean from the pro shop starter to the gals serving you in the restaurant.General Manager "Clayton Crockett" has put this golf course back on the map.They recently revamped the 18 hole layout. New designed traps with the best white sand in town.Removed some traps and put others in strategic positions. Releveled tee areas. Added new wine barrel signs for all tee areas and pathways. Cut down the old plentiful Mexican Fan Palm trees and added mature pine trees that give the course that country look and feel. Switched the back nine with the front nine and now for us old timers, it is like playing a brand new course again.Prices are right and user friendly to get tee times. Over all guys and gals----this is the happening place to be. Check out Friday and Saturday nights? You have a party coming up----they have a very large area for just that. Desent course, driving range very good, mats and grass, chipping and putting areas. Bar and Resturant both very good. Golf course feel good, not too difficult, fun for all ages.
