    100多年前充满墨西哥风情的美国西部老城区,很多小商贩,建筑有当时的特征,一共只有8个街区,建议步行转转,非常有活力的地方

St Patrick's Day parade in Old Sacramento. We visited the Railroad museum (5 stars), the Delta King (5 stars) watched the parade (5 stars), and ate fish and chips (5 stars) at the stand on the pier in front of the Delta King (right where the valet parking for the Delta King is located). What a wonderful day. We wandered in and out of lots of stores, laughed at the man "MC"ing the parade, watched all the folks dressed in old costumes, and some weird new costumes. The parking was easy, and only $8 for the day in the multi-story parking lot next to the Railroad museum. We did get there early, about 9, I suspect it may have been more difficult later. Highly recommended. We enjoyed it so much, we would go back when there is no parade.

This is a charming venue, could use more authentic local stuff and less cheesy gift shop stuff. There are some nice restaurants and the river is nearby.

This is a section of old town Sacramento that is walkable and accessible. Actually, because of the trinket shops and others closed, this would have been average except for the Train Museum. This looks like it was the actual end of the line and has an engine turnaround outside, numerous trains to walk through, friendly and knowledgeable folks to guide one, and is a joy to see for not only the old steam train aficionado, but has something for everyone... This museum is lovingly maintained and operated by caring individuals and it shows... Don't miss this one. Back to Old town, it might be more interesting in summer months, but half the shops were either closed or vacant...

From the moment you park your car and step out onto the wooden sidewalks and cobblestone street you feel like you took a step back in time. This experience was unbelievable! We visited candy stores, restaurants, comedy club, museum and so much more. It was such a delightful day. You will love how cozy this charming little town is. :)

Old Sacramento is a great place to visit when your in town. Yes, it's very touristy, but it is nice to walk around, plenty of shops, restaurants, and several museums to explore. It is on the waterfront, which makes it nice too to walk around too. Parking can be a little tough on the main streets, but the parking structures are the way to go.

Don't forget the carriage ride and stroll down all of the streets for some interesting shops. Great artist co-op with local art there too!

My friend wanted to go to a Christmas ornament shop and we found one online in Old Sac. We decided to walk there from our hotel near the Convention Center, which should have been a nice walk because the weather was nice. About halfway there, the area started turning a little sketchy. We felt it wise to walk on a busy street so that was a little better. We decided that on our return, we would cab it back to our hotel!Old Sacramento seems to be basically a bunch of shops, with a few restaurants thrown in. We did find the ornament shop, which was nice, and we both ended up buying one. We popped into a few more shops and then called for a cab. If you are just into shopping/windo shopping, then this is for you.

Fun place to walk around and go into little shops. Joe's Crab Shack is always good. River Queen is also nice.

This is a great place to walk and shop. Lots of candy that is really good so it's good you can walk! Lots of fun little shops. Definitely worth a visit.

Old Sacramento is a neat area, with brick streets and a variety of restaurants and souvenir shops. If you're looking for costumes, Evangeline's is a must.

It's an okay place if you're from out-of-town; however, it really is just for tourists. Rio City Café & Fire House Restaurants are EXCELLENT places to eat but I don't seek out any place else to eat there... Frank Fat's Bistro was bar food and the service wasn't very good. Evangeline's is a must for fun & silly stuff for all kinds of collectors of nic-nacs. I only go with my friends when they have picked it for a lunch destination. The ORIGINAL Jazz Jubliee was a GREAT time where you could go into any place for good Dixieland Jazz (had to pay for the big bands) but now it's just any and all kinds of music that we don't care to go to. If you are anywhere near Sacramento, visiting Old Sacramento is a must if you want a taste of the old West. From the old schoolhouse to the Railroad Museum, it is a fun place to wander around, especially at Christmas when they have the spectacular laser show.. You can dress up in costumes from the 1800's and get an old time photo taken, you can get a coffee and sit by the river, or visit one of the glorious restaurants and have a glass of wine or margarita and don't forget the shops. There are a wide variety of shops for all tastes and interests and whether you like to buy or just window shop, you will find it fun. There is a large parking lot next to Old Sacramento and parking meters actually in Old Sac, but the meters are quickly taken. The sidewalks are wooden and quite high, so be mindful of that with the elderly or young children. When you are done with the Old, you can walk through the tunnel to the new and get to the downtown mall, it is all easily accessible.

Hubby and I spent a few hours walking around old town Sacramento . Of course there are lots of stores but they sell nicer things than the usual tourist stuff. I think there are 8 candy stores , we bought at Rocky Mountain. Very good chocolates! Since we had never been before we used a parking lot, if you are early there was lots of street parking closer( this was a Sunday). Wished we had more time as I really wanted to go inside the railroad museum!!! A nice man stopped us and said we could get a horse and buggy ride from old town that was 90 minutes and took you to the Capital area also. Guess the fact we had our cameras out taking photos made him stop and give us this news! LOL. Go enjoy.
