This is an amazing place full of history on the Belmont, NC area. Eva was very helpful and pointed out yearbooks from which my mom's photos were located. I could spend hours in there learning more about the town for which my mom grew up. It correlated well with the memories she shared with me growing up. I highly recommend anyone to check it out.

Housed in a historical home of one if the founding families of Belmont. On site is a kitchen located behind the house, a victory garden and mill house. Great local pictures and artifacts. The mill house was moved to the property and lovingly restored and furnished like it was when built. The volunteers are wonderful and full of stories about Belmont and the artifacts in the home. It is a free visit, although there is a donation box next to the sign in register. Worth the visit and a donation ! ( they are currently restoring the kitchen and a small train engine the ran as a ride in the local Stowe park back in the 1940/50''s. ).

This quaint litte museum is located in a historic house and features tons of history about Belmont and it's former days a textile manufacturing town. It shows how life was in the old days and the folks working there will give you a guided tour and are happy to share their knowledge with just you or a group. The admission is free, but they do accept donations. They have a nice gift shop too where you can buy unique items. Every now and then, the volunteers dress up in period outfits and have special programs. If you want to learn more about the history of Belmont, this is the place to go!
