We were anxious to go to this casino but we were disappointed in the way the machines paid off. This was our second trip to this casino and we probably will not return to this area, following the problems we had at our hotel room when we returned. This all made our trip terrible

Nice choice of restaurants. The Marques had good burgers and chix & waffles.All types of slots as well as dealers for poker, craps, blackjack.

My wife and I have been to the Epic Buffet at the Hollywood Casino at the Kansas Speedway several times. The waitstaff are some of the most attentive I have found anywhere. The food is off the charts . The food is fresh and appealing. We like the fact that no children are allowed. It is one of the cleanest buffet's we have ever been in, well worth the trip, keep up the great work!

New games, friendly employees. Down side, when you go to the bar and order a drink, its one per person. So each one in your group has to go to the bar. That is a bad rule to have!

This is a great place if you like to play video poker, live poker and table games. Other casinos in the area do not have the number of video games Hollywood has. It is very clean with friendly staff. The food at the buffet and the café are mediocre but satisfying if you do not want to leave to go to another restaurant. Very crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. If you do not like crowds, visit during the week; especially mornings.

We've been to Hollywood Casino several times. It is huge, and I love the décor, with huge and banners posters of old Hollywood stars. Yet it is fresh and doesn't seem 'old.' It is one of four Kansas non-Indian casinos, the number Kansas voted to allow in Kansas. One is Boot Hill in Dodge City, another is Kansas Star in Mulvane, this one (Hollywood) in Kansas City, and the fourth has yet to be built, somewhere in Southeast Kansas. These casinos are refreshing, fun to go to, and generally have pretty good paybacks. State-run or authorized casinos are required to publish their paybacks, and have parameters they must adhere to, unlike Indian casinos. That in itself is one reason to go there - published payback rates. It may or may not help your odds, but you can at least know your odds.

Their slot machines actually pay off compared to some casinos that you can go to around Kansas City!!Nice clean new casino right off of the highway. Close to shopping and restaurants and by The Legends Mall. A great place to stop even if you're onky traveling through.

Considering it's located next to the KS Speedway, I presumed I'd would be able to play hard, have fun doing it, and leave with a profit. I was dead wrong. I played for two hours, lost $300 of the $1000 I won earlier at Argosy, and walked out with the feeling I'd been 'had'. Don't plan to visit this casino again in the near future, Caution: don't let all the bright lights of a speedway casino blind you.

Upstairs bar closed. Only cafe type restaurant open. Steakhouse closed. 2 ATM,s not working. Love Ameristar. Will not go back to Hollywood Casino.

We go to Hollywood Casino primarily because it is the closest to our home. We will be changing this due to our observation that we have walked away losers the last 8-10 visits. In the past, we have won some, but it has been a long, dry spell. It seems like something has changed, and the payouts have been restricted.With this kind of experience, there is no reason to return. BTW restaurants are ho-hum and overpriced. Wait staff have been good, though.

Went here to eat and ended up doing some gambling! I love the Sex and the City slots and played it for about an hour....ended up walking away a winner.

For the last few years twice a year my family and I came to the Hollywood Casino my wife and daughter gamble and my son and I go to the Turn Two Lounge and watch the Nascar qualifying as we are avid Nascar fans. I have stated more than once that the Turn Two Lounge is my favorite place you can enjoy good food and good service and watch qualifying how does it get better than that. Well this year qualifying was at 4:40 PM my son and I went there at about 3:00 enjoyed some appetizers and drinks at 4:22 Pm they came by and said they were closing from 4:30 to 5:30 the waitress really could not tell me why other than to get ready and that if I went to the bottom of the escalator I could get in line to get back in, I said qualifying would be over by then and that was why I was there was it not a sports bar that caters to Nascar? Well it isn't her fault but I won't have to worry again I won't be back and I will recommend that no one goes there!! They should have had a sign up stating this but they didn't that I could see it looked like to me there were quite a few unhappy people.Rod Bowar

Lots of fun and lots of machines. Buffet was good, but a little pricy for lunch. Had a coupon so that helped. Will be back.

In town for the long Labor day weekend, we tried this casino first. Very friendly staff and dealers at the blackjack tables. It's also easy to give a high rating when you win there.
