Housed in a beautifully restored building in downtown La Grange. The quilts on display were just beautiful. They have docents and staff on duty that will answer your questions and guide you around. And they rotate every quarter. So one always sees some thing new. A wonderful gem.

Not too big, not too small, this museum is just the right size to highlight beautiful quilts without being overwhelming. The building and garden are also pleasing. Nice day trip from Houston with time to enjoy local restaurants or sites. Exhibits change every 3 months.

Took the wife and sister-in-law to the quilt museum, as they both do a lot of quilting. Some very nice quilts. Both of them like it a lot and were impressed. Me not so much, but hey I'm not that big into quilts.

It is very small, so not much to see. Also, no pictures can be taken. These two things make a trip here disappointing.

took my mom here as she is into quilting....I love all things art but was blown away by the skill of the quilt makers here. they are true pieces of art and some look like they are paintings! even if you aren't particularly into quilts, if you enjoy looking at beautiful things you will enjoy this place. I would challenge anyone to not feel impressed by what they see here. very friendly staffLa Grange is a delightful little town, and a great place to visit for a day - see the quilt museum, have a nice lunch and visit the quaint boutiques and awesome kitchen shop!

Loved the garden next to the building as well as the wonderful mural! Inside the museum it's quite nice with three galleries and a small gift shop. The quilts on display were beautiful; just wish there had been more of them. Admission: $8.00, seniors $6.00.

The Texas Quilt Museum is a must see in La Grange, TX. The quilts are rotated each quarter and this quarter's feature theme was Butterflys. About sixty quilts were on display and had a different Butterfly pattern of various schemes. All were beautiful and if quits are important to you and you value the talent of those who create them, this is a place you must go. It will be a treat for all visitors.

You have to see the quality, the diversity in multiple layers, embellished and/or pieced work in textiles both traditional, graphic and "cutting edge" stitch techniques by hand and/or machine.... that this institution delivers as an extraordinary experience for the trained and untrained eye!!!!!Exhibits change on the quarter of every season. It is always a pleasure to see a new exhibit arrive and sad to see the previous exhibit move on. Local quilt guild, colorado Valley Quilt guild lovingly volunteers in the archival administered hanging as testiment of this institutioon and the artist who made the quilts share. The 19th Period Garden is as fabulous in palette, species, butterflies and birds as are the fiber art! Enjoy the shade of this town garden among the fragrant clend of its native flora and fauna. which is open day or night. The staff kindly supports each visitors experience with knowledgeable contributions and travel information about the area. Visitors include reknown artist themselves who willingly share constructive critiques and inspire new work!Gotta see this in your life time and return often for more!!!!!

Totally blown away by the quilts on exhibit! Winners (about 20?) from the 2013 IQF in Houston. Knowledgeable docent who showed me the back of a quilt I was admiring. They have new exhibits very 3 months. A great day trip from the Houston area!

A wonderful selection of quilts! From the fanciful to the abstract, the quilts are displayed in three rooms. When walking in, the main room has balconies around three sides with quilts hung from the second floor on two sides. More quilts line this room with a separate gallery in the back and to one side. These are not your Granny's quilts! From portraits to street scenes to wind chargers, these quilts display a staggering amount of artistry! The building has a sufficiently antique feel to provide an interesting back drop. There are knowledgable volunteers as well as a small gift area. Displays change quarterly.

The quilts were so beautiful, some looked like paintings and landscapes. Very interesting and fun to explore. A little high for a short museum visit ($8) but I'm glad I did it.

The museum changes their quilt displays every so-often. When we were there, the theme was red, white and blue. I expected to see more traditional hand-quilted quilts but the current displays had quite a bit of painted quiltwork (more like art work than tranditional quilts). At the same time, the painted quiltwork was very impressive and clearly works of art.

Wonderful exhibit of 19th century quilts on display when we stopped along with the most outstanding handquilted 20th century quilts. Highly recommend this quilt museum if you are anywhere near LaGrange. Beautifully restored building as well.

This museum just changed the exhibit to fit their theme of flowers. It is beautiful! There is variety in the age of the quilts and their makers. Interesting stories on some. Multiple quilting techniques. The quilts are changed every quarter, so even if you've been there before, there will be much new to see. We enjoyed the little museum shop, too, and the acoustic music CD that we bought there. The flower garden next to the museum is lovely, with a rose arbor, flowers that would have been planted before 1900, and a quilt mural. For serious quilters, there is a shop with quilting materials next door. No photos allowed inside the museum, but you can take pictures of the garden.
