Formerly the Nimitz Museum, the complex is now America's only museum...

Walking on Main street, at first I thought it was a small local museum, this was my second visit in town and I almost missed it, but what a great surprise where you find a large place, well designed and you get caught into the action what a great way to learn details in a historical event. My kids were happy, after over 2 hours they got diatracted and hungry so we left, but they aalso really loved it.

A truly first rate museum experience ! Lots of history and electronic interactive stories, block 2+ hrs to complete.

This museum is a must see, it is well laid out, and that is just the outside. Before going in, take yourself around the outside and read about the men, woman and Presidents did during the Pacific War, it gives you a good idea, if you need to go in!

We went to take our boys, who are huge WW2 buffs, but even our daughter enjoyed it. The staff is great, and the museum is almost overwhelming. The ticket is good for two days, and includes everything in the complex. So glad we had both days to make it through everything. The Combat Zone area is very neat, and we thoroughly enjoyed out WW2 vet tour guide. Don't miss it!You won't believe how much this museum has to offer.

My first time to the museum did not include the WWII Pacific Re-Enactment, and I'm glad it didn't because that visit did not include my 14 and 10 yr old boys. While the museum itself is a bit much for anyone under 18, or anyone who is not a WWII buff; the Re-Enactment is a absolute must do for any family with boys. The "actors" are engaging, extremely informed, and include both active and former service men. Heads up on the dates- this is only fine two weekends out of the month so check the website for dates and ticket purchases.

This huge museum tells the little known story of the WWII Pacific War front complete with a full-size plane, PT boat, Japanese tanks and sub. There are even battles staged at times in the outside venue. The guide we had was fantastic as well.

I enjoyed this museum a lot. The abundance of history and how it showed multiple sides to the conflict made this a place I would like to visit again.

This is an astounding museum. It is very large (holds a B-25 bomber, tank, artillery cannons and a replica of "Fat Boy"). It goes from Japan's beginning aggression to the end of WW II. It goes through every Pacific battle starting with Pearl Harbor. There is a Japanese mini-sub and a film/light show as it describes what happened on December 7. Every battle in the Pacific is covered. Fredericksburg is the boyhood of Chester Nimitz and there is a museum dedicated to him also.

Very interesting and well laid out. A lot went into this and we appreciated the videos and media used.

Went through the museum in 2012, but wanted to see it again as I am a history buff. The Sacrifices of the men and women can only stir your hearts for the freedom we now take for granted. Take your time and feel the warmth.

This museum was so well thought out and put together that my husband and I spent apex 7 hours here on our "couples anniversary getaway" weekend! So interesting and well done, I wish that every young person in America would spend a few hours in this museum learning how much was sacrificed to allow us the freedom we have today.

This museum was spectacular! It's here, kind of in the middle of no where, because its the home of Admiral Nimitz. I spent 2 hours one day, another 3 hours another day. It was very detailed, and well organized, for the entire Pacific part of WWII.

History buff's heaven. So much information. Very interesting. Excellently composed exhibits. Could have had more places to sit though. Exhibit on the war in the Aleutians could have been much more in depth.

If you enjoy history and are interested in how the 20th century American was shaped by WWII then this museum is an absolute must, and a treasured find in the Texas Hill Country. Truthfully a full day experience! Tixkets are thus issued for 48 hours so you can take rests and return. I certainly will.

So much information, better than going to the Smithsonian, and less crowded. So many great exhibits.
