We came here because my son had seen signs off of the freeway that said, "Dinosaur Tracks" and he really wanted to go. We drove up to a small facility that, while housing some interesting dinosaur tracks found on site, was a waste of time for us to go to. My son breezed through the few artifacts they had and spent most of his time running around playing in the outdoor portion of the property. I admit that my opinion is biased since I live by a large dinosaur museum that we frequent. I guess I was expecting more for the price we spent and the signs around town that made it seem bigger than anticipated.

Actual dinosaur tracks found in a farmers field. Museum built to show tracks and dinosaur trivia. Easy one hour visit. School aged children or adults. You could take a toddler in s stroller. All inside. In town, so it's a nice stop on I-15 for food at local restaurants and a break from driving.

The only reason that I did not give this 5 stars is that it is still a small museum and you really need a guide. As the entire operation is driven by volunteers, much of the interest therefore depends on the guide. Derek, a retired geologist, made this a fascinating peek into prehistoric times -- and i am not even particularly interested in dinosaurs! As he is only there during the winter, hurry to meet him.The museum itself is exactly what the title implies: a discovery site that is now covered.

This was not very exciting for our 2 and 4 year olds. They had a sand box outside, but it was too cold to stay out and play for very long.

This is a family friendly museum that let's you get close to the dinosaur footprints. There is even the world's only print of the posterior of a dinosaur sitting like a dog. Life size dinosaur cut outs help you understand the scale of the animals. The staff is very friendly and the premises are clean and cool. I just wish it was larger.

This museum has friendly staff and is full of good informative information. It is small but it explains the geological history of the area around St. George and how these impressive tracks where preserved. It also give you the opportunity to see fossils being prepared.

This museum has an impressive collection of dinosaur tracks, including swim tracks, from the Jurassic period. The volunteers on staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. They definitely made the visit a memorable and enjoyable experience. The children's play area has hands on exhibits and activities. There is enough to keep the kids interested in coming back.Their website is very useful tool in planning your visit. It includes the hours of operation, directions, the history of how the tracks were discovered, and the highlights of the museum. Next time you are in the area, add visit to the Dinosaur Discovery Site to your itinerary.

You can read others' reviews or the museum's website to learn what the museum includes. -- Why should you visit? To see unique finds that exist nowhere else in the world; also, because the dino prints are accessible to a remarkable degree, archeologists come from all over the globe to work on the finds, and the docents are excellent and well-educated in paleontology. -- Why should you support this museum? It receives no public support (the city of St George is much more interested in golf courses and malls than in world-class museums), it's staffed almost entirely by knowledgeable and dedicated volunteers, and the two kids at the cash registers get minimum wage. The admission fee is only $6 per person!Shockingly, archeologists have unearthed and crated many, many more dinosaur tracks and evidence, which they are having to STORE IN THE OPEN AIR in a dirt field, right across the road from the museum. That's right -- not even a shed to cover these certified, one-of-a-kind artifacts from millions of years ago. Go! Get in on this world-class collection's early development. It's for everyone, not just children and budding paleo-heads.

A great place to visit for all ages. Lots of history and information of the dinosaurs that roamed the earth and Utah. Very clean and the staff is great. We have been several times with our 5 sons as each of them have grown up.

This is a very intriguing museum/excavation site which displays dinosaur footprints, mostly from the location the museum sits on. Seeing these prints, some of which are a foot long, really brings home the size of the creatures that made them. The docent was very helpful, fleshing out how the prints came to be. The only thing I would suggest is removing the items NOT found at the site. I found that confusing. Is this museum just about this site, or also about related finds?

Lots of good information about dinosaur tracks, and the process of recovering them. I like that it is a working location, and not just a roadside attraction.

I called in here as I was passing through St George. It was very interesting and amazing to think that dinosaurs had actually walked here. My grandchildren would have loved it. The museum guide was very enthusiastic and gave us lots of information.

This was a really good hour's break on a journey, fascinating. OK it's all run on a bit of a shoestring and maybe slightly amateurish but the enthusiasm of the staff was great, happy to answer questions. I for one haven't seen the type of exhibits they have there, the dinosaur claw marks preserved in the fossilised riverbed and just found purely by chance, don't knock it like some reviews here but admire the effort put in by volunteers to get this up and running.

Interesting place for the whole family. Was intrigued by the area where the recovery of fossils took place.

I was hoping for a bit more skeletons than just foot tracks & lots of reading. I think definitely more kid oriented.
