I'm probably biased, as I lived in Camden until I was 7. But I always enjoy going to Pilot Knob and the park. The views are spectacular, and overlook the Johnsonville Park on the other side of the River. Tennessee River Folks are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet.

Spent one night camping in the lakeview campground sites but spent the next two days hiking the trails. The campsite was equipped with a picnic table and fire pit and was almost directly on the water. The only downfall was across the river is a plant putting out a lot of smoke which takes away slightly from the view. The weather was about 20degrees at night at 35 during the days so i was very pleased to find that the bathrooms were heated and the shower facilities had warm water and were free of cost. Near the museum are 4 different trails, each varying in length and are color coordinated along the paths. I did the 5 mile and 10 mile hikes. Saw deer both times and enjoyed the beautiful fall colors.

Just spent some time at the park. Stayed in one of their two bedroom cabins with friends. The cabin appeared recently renovated and was in excellent shape. Back deck looked out over Kentucky Lake and it was so peaceful sitting out there enjoying the peace and quiet. Arrived before check-in time. Elainia was working the office. She went ahead and checked us in although the cabin wasn't ready. Said we could ride on up to the museum and the cleaning crew would call there when our cabin was ready and that we could pick up the key at the museum. We met one of the park rangers, J.C., when we checked in. He was so friendly and informative about the park and about wildlife and other things in the park. Visited the museum at Pilot Knob and again, very friendly and informative employee there. She shared some interesting bits of info, offered us free popcorn while telling us about the free movies about the area that were available for viewing there. The cabin had all the needed cooking and eating utensils. We brought some food and didn't have to go out of the park to get something to eat. We all had a wonderful time and look forward to another trip there in the future. All of us highly recommend this park as for a getaway weekend.

this place is pretty cool. You get to learn a lot about the history of the place and see some cool relics. The scenery is amazing too!

We booked a campsite by the river and was hoping to get in some hiking for the weekend. We set up our tent and were pleased with the view and peaceful site. We visited the museum and it was enjoyable and a really educational place to see. Unfortunately, I was surprised and disappointed at how much trash was around the area. We also walked down to "fossil point" which is advertised as a point of interest, but the trail wasn't kept up and when we got there trash was everywhere. The campsite later in the night became an in and out party for some of the campers and their friends until the early morning hours. Also, airboats were zooming by all hours of the night, so needless to say the peaceful campsite was no longer peaceful. This park could be a really nice area, but it seems as though government cuts have kept it from staying clean and the trails staying in good shape.

Nice place, great views, very secluded.museum very interesting, especially the mussel boat which is authentic and well used.with the recent rash of renaming and/or closing of parks named after confederate officers(nathan bedford forrest particularly) I recommend that you take your kids there now so they can learn the TRUE history of the United States, (not just our governments edited version for "political correctness") as I am confident this park will be next on the chopping block.

We just stopped here on the way home from another great TN state park, since we had never seen it. It claims to be on one of the highest points in West Tennessee. The views of the TN river are spectacular. We also just visited the old log cabin which you can rent. They also have other modern cabins as well that would accommodate more people. They have a nice visitors center and museum free of charge If you have not been here, I would recommend it.

The park and surroundings were very well-kept, and made the whole "visual" , a pleasant view. It was good to see more focus, on nature and natural ways of beauty. We will be back again, to enjoy the peaceful and fresh atmosphere.
