I have never experienced such blunt and outright cruel racism in my life. I was on the haunted hay ride with my friend. At the first stop of the hayride we enter a hillbilly act where the actors interact with the guest. One actor said to my friend, "I would never be interested in your friend, do you see the color of her skin"? The whole ride became silent with disbelief in what this character just said to me during this family themed hay ride. I was mortified, ashamed, and very saddened. I can't believe that took place. We spoke to the owner about the incident and she apologized but I will never go somewhere where the people are bold faced racist. I'm completely appauld. If you're African American, beware of the haunted hay ride. You'll get more than you're expecting.

It really pains me to give Becker Farms such a low ranking but the changes they have made each year are not for the better. I have been going to Becker every year for the past 7 years and I think this will be the last. First I'm not going to blame them for it being crowded. It's not their fault for being successful. We always get there right around opening to avoid the lines. However, there is plenty to blame them for. Let's start with the nickel and diming that is happening. There used to be a free smaller petting zoo where the kids could feed the animals. Then they have a paid petting zoo with more activities for the kids to do. Now there is a charge for both areas. And separate charges at that. For my wife, child and I it would have been $17 for the smaller petting zoo and $45 for the larger section. So we would already be down $62. We could go to the Buffalo Zoo twice for that price! Then if you want to go apple picking, everyone over 2 years of age needs a bag. I fully understand why they do that but let's say you have a family of four, if you get the smallest bag that's still $18. So if you just wanted to do the two petting zoos and pick apples you'd be in $80!The fields still had plenty of apples left on the trees. However, when we asked our tractor driver where the different varieties of apples were he said, "I have no idea". Your job is to drive people out to apple orchards, you should know where things are! There are only a few sporadic signs on the rows of apples so we had to do a bit of searching and guessing. Now let's talk about the most disappointing aspect, the food. Normally the food is very good, Chivetta's style chicken and ribs. This year was awful. My wife and I got two chicken dinners costing us $21 total. When we cut into the chicken it was ice cold. You could tell it was left over from the night before because the skin was all wrinkled. We were one of the first people to get food that day so there's no way it was fresh cooked that morning. It also lacked any flavor whatsoever. A major disappointment! I should have taken it back but after an entire morning of disappointments I didn't have the energy and we went home. So again let's look at the cost, if you wanted two zoo areas, apple picking and food you'd be in $100!!! Do you know how much you can do in this town for $100?!I'm guessing by the size of the crowds that Becker Farms will do nothing to make any changes since they are printing money. But as I'm starting to see more and more people sharing my opinions on here I'm guessing they might be forced to look at their business with a critical eye.

We went there out first time on a Thursday and went into the store and asked the lady about apple picking. She wasn't helpful at all and said we had to walk up the street on Quaker Rd. quite a ways and the apple orchards would be on the right and there would be a sign. We then said it would be too far to walk so I went to get my truck to drive there. We then asked 2 girls that worked there that wasn't that friendly or helpful either. So we drive and see no signs and all the orchards we saw were just at a house. We then came back and decided to eat lunch first and then ask someone again. We finally found one of the buildings that had food to eat. Why don't they have signs on the buildings and where to go for the apple picking???? The waitress was nice but no one that worked there knew anything about where the apple orchards were which we thought seemed weird! My daughter did get to see a few animals and play on the playground since there isn't much for kids to do during the week there. Finally after 3 hours of being there a guy stopped in a tractor to ask if we needed help and when we asked him about the apple orchards he told us totally different then the lady that they were behind like where a wedding reception was. Why did she tell us to walk up Quaker Rd then? Something was very fishy about that!! It's like no one that worked there accept this 1 man we saw 3 hours later knew this? People that worked there were not friendly accept the waitress and the guy that could finally help us about the orchards 3 hrs later! So we pick them and were trying to carry our heavy 20 Ib bags of apples ALL the way to our truck and there's no wagons or no one to help you do this?? It's nonsense! Not a great experience at all here! We live 50 min away too!!

I know you have to go with the times to keep a business going but I remember the fun my classes had on Becker Farm field trips and it's a little disappointing to see some of the changes. It seems that many people go there for the wine tasting (it was closed today) and/or the brewery. There are also some nice pavilions for special occasions (there was a bridal shower today). We had some very good ice cream for a reasonable price ($2.50 for a small cone). There were long lines at all of the food stations. The petting zoo is still free.

Bravos to the Becker/Vizcarra families for keeping a 5-generation family farm sustainable...and a delight. I am from Vermont and have visited Becker Farms twice--once 5 years ago and now this September. We went as three-generation family outing (ages 10 years to 73 years)...and everyone of us had a great time from apple picking, playing on the hay bales to testing out the on-site craft brews and wines to homemade fudge and cider donuts. And now there is this incredible wedding/events pavilion designed and implemented by 5th generation member Amanda Vizcarra. What charmed me most of all is that the venue—while separated by gardens and patios-- is right in the midst of the working farm and its vineyards and open fields where kids can running in open spaces...not a pretend "post card farm" but the real thing. We were also impressed by the Becker Farm's dedication to providing farm-to-table food within a 100-mile radius. I can only imagine how much Becker Farms and the Vizcarra Vineyards help and inspire the local community in terms of restoring this region of Western New York's legendary orchards, farms and healthy food. Our whole family had so much fun, and we returned to Buffalo thankful that the Becker/Vizcarra famiy have found ways to open their doors to the public yet prosper as a family business. Thank you so very much.

Went to Vizcarra Vineyard a few weekend ago with my wife and my 1year old. Had a good time. Lines were a little long to get samples of wine and beer, and to buy a pie to take home but it was worth it. Went apple picking which was fun. Had to buy a bag to place apple's in and was told you could not walk to orchard, cause it was far away. We end up walking there and it took us about 3-5 minutues to get there. Had a good time.

We were very disappointed by this past weekend's trip to Becker Farms. This used to be a fall highlight for our children - but this year we found nothing more than a huge population of drunk adults - and also the children's activities we used to enjoy have all been replaced by extremely overpriced, underwhelming activities. Becker Farms has lost the magic! Save the trip and your $$ - there are plenty of other fun fall destinations that still appreciate families. We will NOT be back!

I've been to Becker Farms with school groups and always had fun. It's a farm and so much more. In the fall the kids can choose pumpkins, walk a maze, go in a haunted house, and other activities. They have cider and fresh donuts. There is also a wine and beer tasting building. I especially love "Barreled Over Niagara" --a nice sweet wine. The bathrooms in the wine tasting area are my only complaint--campground-y and not clean. This week we attended a wedding on Friday. It was just beautiful The setting was so nice. I don't know who does the decor for the weddings but both weddings had beautifully simple and classy decor. The bathrooms at the wedding banquet area were nice and clean. The staff was so attentive and fantastic. The food was good. It was all around fun. We returned the next day for lunch and we had a lovely day. I had a bratwurst on a pretzel roll and husband had BBQ pork. We thought both were very good. We ate outside at a picnic table and it was just so nice.

Venue is quite unique for an outdoor wedding with the reception held in the new indoor/outdoor banquet area. Staff was excellent and very attentive to their "waiting" duties. Pasta premavara (sp?) was excellent. Roast pork dinner - pork was a little overcooked but great on flavor, along with the accompanying mashed potatoes. If you love outdoor country weddings, complete with a chicken or two wandering in and out, than this is the place for you!

We went to celebrate several birthdays and had a blast. We pulled up some tables and stayed in the bar part for the day. We have gone before and did the hayrides, petting zoo, apple picking and chose our pumpkins. The spiced apple cider was the best along with the fresh donuts. We go every year and will continue to go for years to come.

This is a pretty cool place. They had hayrides, pumpkins, animals, pony rides, and other activities for the kids. And they had home brew, wine tasting, and a band playing for the adults. I didn't try the wine, but the IPA and October beers were great. While we didn't eat there, the food looked good too. Will definitely be back!

Becker Farms is a staple in my family. The wine is good, but it's the apple picking and fall activities that always bring me back here. (Since I was a child 25 yrs ago!) The Fall Fest is great for families with hayrides, apple and pumpkin picking, getting fresh doughnuts and hot apple cider, visiting the resident parrot, feeding the goats (my favorite) and horses and watching the piglet race! I can't say enough about Becker Farms because it's always been a tradition in our family! :)

I would recommend taking a trip to Vizcarra Vineyards the wines are great the staff is outstanding! I've been there several times since they opened years ago and I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience...even on the days of wine trail events. Worth the trip!

This winery had great wines and they also make their own beer. There wines were very good. They also have a fruit market, cafe and gift shop. I suggest you make this winery one of your stops on the wine tour.

This was our last stop on a winery trip. It had been recommended to try the beers. That was an excellent recommendation. The wines, however, we're horrible. The port tasted like cough syrup. The sweeter wines were not much better. We didn't have the heart to try any others. I did take home a growler of the Rooster Red Ale. Come here for a nice tasting of several beers. Go anywhere else on the Niagara Wine Trail for wines.
