Wines were below average in my opinion. Another winery on the smallish side in Warwick, however compared to the competition the wine was inferior. It does have some nice views overlooking hills and valleys however.

All of the negative reviews are absolutely true! We arrived to see people streaming out of the tasting room disgusted by what they had experienced. All of the wine was simply awful. The owner barreled through our nine tastings in appx. 5 minutes. When asked about the wine he would simply respond, "this wine is good, good wine" All of the vines looked anemic and it is hard to believe that they could yield any grapes. The spit buckets were all overflowing, which was probably the source of their special blends. Only go if you want to make fun of the experience...

Our favorite Winery with Master Vinter Francesco personally pouring the tastings. All vartieals are superb and well crafted. Tip - get to know Francesco and ask him questions - he'll open up and show the terrific host he is...

Great selection of wines to try. More peaceful and leas crowded than bigger wineries in the area. No food though.

The six of us stopped here to do a wine tasting and the wine for some reason wasn't good at all. Most wines have a smooth finish or are have a crisp taste to them, but all the wines here that we sampled had like a bite to them for a finish note, we couldn't understand what was wrong. None of the wines had a smooth finish to them. We will not be going back again to this place

The wine is horrific to say the least. I went with my husband and another couple this summer and were very disappointed to say the least. The wine/substance tasted like dirty feet and rubbing alcohol. My friend ended up vomiting because she couldn't stomach the wine (she was sober when we arrived and we only had 1 tasting). Luckily, when the owner was distracted, we managed to sneak out half-way through the tasting without him noticing. On the bright side, we only wasted $5 each on the tasting.

This is an odd place. The wines and other distilled beverages are expensive compared to others. It winery itself is nothing special - I really didn't care for it and I won't visit again.

We went to this winery for many years and the wines were fabulous,we became friends and even helped pick the grapes and help make the wines. we have found going to other wineries that Frank makes the best wines,he does like to joke with the people but that also adds to his personality, which is a very giving person who loves to make his wines and to make people happy and to come back again .

This is not like the other more commercial wineries in the area. It is run by off-the-boat Italian grandparents - and like grandparents sometimes they are a hoot and sometimes they are not. However, we have always, always had a good time there. NY wines in general aren't good and the same is true here. His Port and Peach Wine are the best and I mean that is true out of all the area wineries. The others not worth much. But, the true gold is in his FOC (a grand marnier type of brandy), Annisette - so smooth, Vodka and other liqueurs. If you're looking to be wowed - try them. If you are looking to "learn about the grapes" skip this place. Everything else about handwritten notes and such by other reviewers just adds to the charm of a mom and pop shop.

I'll preface this review by saying that I work in a tasting room at a winery in California. Having visited several wineries in NY, my expectations were not real high. But I have never been to a winery with such terrible wine. We only tasted 4 wines, and I had to spit all 4 out. The chardonnay was harvested very late and tasted like raisins - bad ones. The Peach wine tasted like a can of cling peaches from the store. I asked for a dry red wine and got something that tasted a lot like distilled vinegar. The lady who waited on us was very grumpy and only provided sparse answers when we asked questions. The insult was that they charge $5 to taste. Drive right by this place.

I have been to several wineries over the past few years. Demarest Hill is nothing special. The owner is somewhat of a comedian. He pushes the more expensive wines, which I don't believe they are worth it. Bought a few bottles anyway and never got my change. The price was rounded off and I was told that we got extra tastings so he would keep the change. Only a few dollars, but not a classy move at all.

I've been to Demarest twice now, so I don't feel like it was a one-time thing. The wine isn't bad, and I do have their Apple wine (it's in my fridge now, and I was drinking it with lunch - a very light beverage that's great with lighter fare), but this was the only bottle that any of us had bought on our visit. The people seemed a little less happy to have us in the shop. Also, important note - they don't take credit cards, so show up with plenty of cash!

I have been to wineries all over the world, and I have NEVER had an experience like this. I typically like the "cozy home-like" atmospheres, so when we drove up and I saw the tasting room was attached to the owner's home, I assured my friend traveling with me that these types of wineries are usually the best to visit. Boy was I wrong. We rang the bell, and a few minutes later a woman comes over from the house to unlock the door and let us in. She never greeted us, nothing. It appeared as though we were a bother. Inside, the tasting room was FREEZING cold. I couldn't stop shaking. She proceeded to pour us wine, never telling us exactly what she was pouring or anything about what we were about to taste. I had to keep asking, and she would mumble what we were drinking. I tried to make small talk- asking her where she was from, telling her where I was from, but it was pretty clear she wanted NOTHING to do with us. It was very awkward to say the least. We were supposed to get 7 tastes, but on the 6th one she said "ok, last one". The wine itself may be decent when freshly opened, but the reds tasted like wines that have been opened literally for weeks. VERY sour and disgusting. The place itself also looked very unprofessional- with handwritten notes taped all over the place, and used looking trinkets scattered giving it an appearance of a garage sale. Would not return. Ever.

It might not be a big and flashy as some of the other winerys, how ever it will give you a great wine for your money and the owner is worth the trip just to talk to. We have driven from Brookly, NY just to go here for wine. One thing to keep in mine cash only.

Although it doesn't have the food service, their wines are superior to most of the wineries. Pleasant outdoor and indoor setups. Great love and care created vineyard. You may still have a great picnic at a beautiful area. Bring your own picnic food and enjoy the superior wines.
