I am thinking that the Civic Center might want to check on the heat. Very uncomfortable and borrowed a stranger's jacket who was more than willing to supply. If you are attending an Event here make sure that you dress for warmth.

We had our annual Legislative Memorial Auction there and its always great. The food is wonderful and the people are friendly. I have also sat through many basketball tournament and it is a wonderful place. Great for meetings and events.

Not a lot to tell as basketballers were staying at our hotel and we talked to them as they was a collge team from our home town

This place gets stuffy and hot whenever there is an event so be prepared and dress light. The AC system is ineffective. There are some paths you can walk on outside the civic center that go around the University of Maine. You should check them out by heading over to the U of ME buildings. That will give you a break if you need it from the civic center action.

We thought we would get to see a better facility than this one but it was still worth the visit while we were here in Maine.

Although small, it is a nice center that is clean and accomodating. The grounds are nicly kept. Going back for 2014!

I recently visited the Civic Center for a school convention and was not very impressed. I had never been before and did not know what to expect, but I wasn't amazed by any means. The food was not the best, it was crowded and the bathrooms were not clean nor up to date.

I've visited similar arenas around the country, and the Augusta Civic Center is more like a high school gymnasium from the 1980's than an actual civic center found in metropolitan areas in other states. For Maine natives, the ACC is a big time state of the art arena (wow, how tragic is that?). For people from the rest of the country who know better, the ACC is the biggest joke to hit the streets since the Fiat. I wouldn't host a child's school dance there much less any other important event.

For a crowd of over 4,000 people, and with a capacity of about 6,000, it seemed so very crowded and felt like a fire trap. There were not enough bathroom facilities, and the air-conditioning was not serving any relief to the crowd.

I attended a 3 day convention of Jehovah's Witnesses it was awesome!! But the facility is very dated. My wife informed me that women's room had not enough stalls that made very long lines, seating was very uncomfortable and the A/C was not up to par my wife and I were on the floor and we sweated 2 of the 3 day we attended. Parking was great and it was nice out doors. Landscaping etc.

I have been here several times in the past, for country concerts, and for a graduation, and it was fine, but recently I attended an all day convention and found it VERY lacking. Very few bathrooms and very small. How could a civic center that seats over 5,000 people, have bathrooms to accomodate about 25? What were they thinking?? Also, the A/C was terrible; in the hot afternoons, it felt as if they turned it off. I think large places like this have to factor in body heat, as well as outdoor temperature and if they contract with groups to keep them comfortable all day, then they have an obligation to have an system that can handle it. It was miserable.

I have seen a couple of concerts here and it is not the best venue for them. The sitting is limited and with the small space the stage was limited. I have been here for sporting events and it is great place for those as well as going to trade shows.

It was very crowded and a lot of smoking at the time and that turned me off. Now there is a smoking law so it's probably better

This is a sub par civic center. Very small, and very out-dated. Dirty bathrooms, and less than friendly staff. The events that take place here are mostly out-dated bands trying to make a few bucks or a come-back. The Shrine Circus that takes place here is a waste of time & money, and the Kidsfest event is also way too expensive for what is actually there. Don't waste your time unless you're looking for a sit-down, low energy, country western concert.
