Hiked around the grounds in the snow, quiet and peaceful. Chapel was closed but was a nice respite. A true sanctuary, with some neat sculpture on the grounds (Latvian monument, I think).

A wonderful place to visit. Church service by the monks. During Christmas Prelude in December, Christmas carols are sung with a huge attendance of carollers.

Beautiful and peaceful tour of monastery. Walking paths and outdoor chapels. Gift shop. Recommend a stop if you are looking to find something to do.

This was a most intriguing place. It was highly recommended, so we walked around and took many pictures. Very peaceful!

Hike the grounds and enjoy the serenity. Visit the chapel and make a contribution. Very peaceful and serene.

We stumbled on this quite by accident, and it proved to be a great bonus. The grounds are beautifully manicured and dotted with large shrines. It was a joy to walk around and visit them and read about their significance. This is a must for anyone interested in religion, architect or just an appreciation of spirituality and meditation. I could not help but have a feeling of serenity. Wished I had allowed more time, as it is surely worth being its own destination.

When we were children my folks took us here a few times for outdoor Masses in the Grotto when we stayed near Biddeford Pool and/or the Kennebunks for a few weeks in the summer. It's been years since I've visited this Monastery, but the grounds are beautiful and peaceful, and the church itself worth a trip inside. When was the last time you saw blessed rosary beads ( prayer beads ) for free in a cathedral (with a suggested donation box, but not required). The church is beautiful and peaceful. Since I am of Lithuanian heritage, I noticed that many of the names of the deceased priests on the wall in the back were Lithuanian and I wondered if that's why we stopped here a few times when we were young. At any rate, it's a thoughtful place to stop and get out of the commercialism of the Kennebunks.

Easy walk to hear from the center of town where all the shops and cafes are (it is on the road to the beach). The manicured lawns are nice, but take the modest trails through the woods, and to the waterfront where you will get a nice "reverse" view of the harbor.Religious leaning aside, this is an unexpectedly large and serene property in the midst of affluent Kennebunkport. People encountered were all very nice. Clean restrooms outside the church.Interesting gift shop in the back of the church is worth a 10 minute look.

We made our annual pilgrimage and enjoyed the peaceful grounds and a visit to the gift shop. The chapel was open and provided a beautiful place to pray. The grounds offer lovely walkways and surroundings and the squirrels and chipmunks danced around the place readying for winter. A good place to be still and let the spirit of God speak to you.

Decided to stop by as I had not been here in about 15 years. The grounds were still the same and it was nice to walk around a bit but not much to see. Still overall a nice place to stop and stretch your legs and see some of the outside alters.

First been there twice. The Place has nice grounds(more later) it is peaceful. Second its filthy dirty as far as the buildings go VERY SEEDY and dirty. The gift shop is old and decrepit. While there I went to the restroom and it Stunk to high heaven like they kept using a dirty mop over and over to wash the floor. The grounds are not really kept up the flowers around are obviously not attended to they look all withered and dried out. Yes its quiet there which is fine. There were no monks around either time. The chapel doesn't feel very nice either, not much here to enjoy really.Just a seedy old building not well maintained at all. Again the grounds are ok.Theres a feeling there that somethings not right it does not fell like a monastery. Read the brocure First the land was discovered in 16625 and all the white men who came were all slaughterd by the Indians on the grounds. A few years later the white men came back and in return wiped out the Indians! and took the land...these are the grounds you are treading on,are where it all took place ... you can feel it and I think that's what the weird feeling is about it.No the monastarey had nothing to do with that, but the vibes are there. My understanding of the hotel there is forget it! I checked that out also filthy. They make you get your own bedding, NO maid service and the rooms are never clean. It smelled when I went inside like a cheap rooming house again seedy. I apologize for being negative but its my impression. Monastaries don't usually have big tv antennas on the roof and airconditioners in every window.they do. Theres just nothing that feels MONASTARY about this place. Needs a lot of work starting with CLEANING nothing spiritual here. Again the grounds have that strange feeling of what happened at the beginning...

We have stayed there 4 times and 5th coming up in september. The rooms are more than adequate; the breakfast (Which is included in the room fee) is fantastic. Access to the beach (10 minutes) and the shops in K'Port (10 minutes) walk is truly a gem!!

The grottos are so beautiful and make you feel so calm and at peace. You just want to sit and enjoy the serenity.

I loved coming here when I lived in the area! You can walk around this place for hours and not get bored. A neat gazebo at the very end of the path overlooking the water.

The surroundings are very nice. Open air chapel. Unfortunately, we were there on a Sunday morning. So, too many people visited at the same time.Would visit again if back to the area.
