Attended our first ever Stephen Foster Story this past Fourth of July. The musical was well done, the evening so pleasant in the open air amphitheater. The fireworks show was extraordinary. The park itself is beautiful and well worth a walk-through to visit the gardens and the mansion.

We visited and toured the restored mansion at the park the week after Christmas.Was sorry that it was in the midst of removing Christmas decorations. The park staff should consider closing the house while these are removed as the house looked very messy with the decorations lying around willy nilly.Our tour guide was quietly knowledgeable and dressed to the period.Interesting to note that Stephen foster only visited here occasionally, but can see how he could be inspired by the lovely setting as grounds are lovely even in winter.Hopefully can come back sometime when the house is in better order.

Enjoyed the information about the life of an important settler family of the colonial era in Kentucky. Beautiful furniture, accessories, and textiles bring the past to life. Knowledgeable tour guide, able to answer any questions.

We stopped on a weekday morning in November and we and the couple we were traveling with had what amounted to a private tour of the home with the opportunity to ask a lot of questions about life in the home. There was still fall color on the beautiful grounds and the gift shop was well stocked with a items in all price ranges.Other older homes open to the public in Kentucky include Henry Clay's home, Ashland, and the Mary Todd Lincoln Home both of which are in Lexington.

We went the weekend after Christmas, crowds very low and we even got a private tour!!! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative! Decorated in every room for Christmas, it was beautiful!!

This was the very first time I had ever been to see Stephen Foster's home but I cannot imagine a better time than during Christmas. The home had wreathed in the windows and was lit by candles and Christmas trees. Guides were dressed in period clothing and let me say, they knew their stuff; Fielded questions like pros! The home was built solid and perfectly plumb--something you don't see anymore and that's pride in craftsmanship. The dining room was my favorite. We left before the 2nd story carolers started to sing but we did enjoy the hot apple cider and bourbon cake and cookies in the Carriage House. Cost tour is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children 7+, children <6 are free! Lovely gift shop with some handcrafted items as well as mass produced. A must see!!

Beautiful setting and easy to find. Charges were low and the bathrooms were easy to get to and clean although dated. Friendly casual atmosphere. Dumping station available and easy to walk across the street and have breakfast. Close to McDonalds if you want coffee etc. We had a huge RV 40 footer and they had no problem accommodating us. Very restful. Fresh clean air at night, beautiful trees and stars at night. Campers weren't extremely close together. Some RV spots would be harder to put the RV then others. Go to their website and make your choices and reservations ahead of time. Just fun for a long weekend.

Have lived here many years and have taken visitors to see My Old Ky home and the park numerous times. Have been there in all seasons but the fall is my favorite . Take the mansion tour , very interesting and worth doing. The grounds are beautiful. the adjacent park has tent camping and rv parking . Small campground but very nice. Does get a little noisy with the sound of traffic on the road passing the park. the picnic area is very nice. limited facilities but nice playground and secluded from the traffic. The park is not large and the hiking is very limited but the grounds and the home are worth the time . NO restaurant on site .

Normally when we think of State Parks, we think of grandeur, with sweeping vistas, and marvelous walks and a few buildings. But My Old Kentucky Home State Park is not very large at all. A beautiful old home sits on the grounds that is worth the visit alone. We happened to be passing through the area on the Bluegrass Parkway when we decided to get off the beaten path to see the famous landmark. It was worth the stop on this cool fall day because it was so quiet and serene. If you need an excuse to get out of the car for just 30-45 minutes, consider taking the short detour to visit the smallish state park and the home. You won't be disappointed.

I loved the history of the family and the grounds. The guide wore period clothing and had a good knowledge of the home and family. I especially enjoyed the portraits in the home.

This antebellum home was very nice and well restored with well kept grounds. The knowledgeable docents were an added perk to the guided home tour. Reasonable tour price.

This is a small, older, reasonably priced campground designed for campers around 30 foot. If you have anything larger you may find it a struggle to fit between the trees. The location is great for all that Bardstown has to offer. WiFi was hit or miss but more miss than hit.

My 3rd trip to the home, the last being in the 1980s. The home is lovely as are all of the beautiful antique furniture, paintings, etc . The guide was very knowledgeable and answered all questions, but was very stiff and robotic like in her answers. I very much enjoyed seeing the home again, but wished the guide had been more engaging. The price is $7 per adult and there are some discounts, such as military and AAA. The grounds and house are lovely and there is a very nice gift shop. I just wish the guide had been a little more exciting.

We were staying across the street from this home located in a beautiful state park and took the house tour. There is an admission fee to enter the house. The tour was led by a woman in period costume and encompassed the upstairs and down. She was knowledgeable about the house and times and gave us quite a bit of family history on the first owners.....a former senator and his family. Part of the property is a golf course and they have a large gift shop. Look for the buckeye tree on the grounds.

We were on a bus tour and we stopped for a tour of My Old Kentucky Home. The guides wore hoop-skirts. Toured the home and property. See how things were back then. This was educational. Beautiful grounds. Great little gift shop.
