I was in town strictly for family business and would drive by this location everyday. I didn't feel like a visitor so it didn't occur to me to stop. My Aunt asked me to stop one day to pickup some books she wanted me to give to our grandchildren. I'm glad she did I would have missed a nice visitors center. They have many displays to view and items of interest to see. If you are even a local you need to visit and support this center. Highly recommended stop. When I return I will visit again to view the many items I couldn't this trip.

I live in Kenai so don't have occasion to go here often, but have done so a number of times in the past. There is a museum type display on Kenai's past and present, and from time to time displays of art are held there. There is a staff person at an information counter who (I presume) is able to answer questions visitors might have. There is also a meeting room where various events are held, and movies or videos with information about the area are shown. Also, there is a rack where brochures for numerous local businesses catering to tourists are available.

The Kenai Visitor and Cultural Center should be a must-visit spot for anyone who comes to the town of Kenai :)) The Center features both the Alaska Native and recent history of the Kenai Peninsula, and has a nice museum, well-groomed outside areas (with picnic tables & interesting displays), and a gift shop too; information, maps, brochures, etc. for visitors are available here. Old Town Kenai, with its Russian Orthodox Church and other historic buildings, are located very close by as well (these are worth viewing, after you visit the Center). Enjoy!

This is a good place to get an idea of where to go while you're on the Kenai Peninsula, but there isn't a lot of depth to the exhibits and information. However, it is tough to find info anywhere else.

We found in Alaska that every visitor center is a place you can stop to find out information on the area. Maps, brochures and directions. They lady at the front desk here was very helpful to us, guiding us to different spots around town. This visitor center has a small free museum that is very interesting as well. Be sure to stop by.

Nice displays of the oil industry, a model of an oil rig, displays of native artifacts, and interesting information and history of Kenai. Very nice rest rooms, books and other items for sale.

Our visit was brief but the staff was very helpful. The displays were beautiful. The gift shop had a very extensive offering.

You'd think this would be a typical visitor's center, but it was REALLY nice! On Saturdays during the summer, they have a nice little market too, which is why we went. The museum was very cool, and I like the cut away model of the oil rig and the worlds largest fishing snag! There's a lot of nice taxidermy in there too. If you're trying to fish the Lower Kenai, go in there, they will tell you where to go, and an HONEST answer on what your chances are.

We went to the outdoor market on the weekend and stopped at the center. It was wonderful. Nice exhibits with friendly staff. Clean bathrooms! Enjoyed the exhibits but didn't have time for the video.

My husband and I arrived here, expecting to stop in for a few brochures. We had no idea there was a lengthy video on Alaska and a museum full of fabulous exhibits. We lost complete track of time and spent several delightful hours here studying all of the items on display. It's beautifully laid out, plenty of room and one-of-a-kind items. A must-stop for those on the peninsula!

Be sure to walk through the Museum! Take time to read some of the chronicles that are on display. The names of streets take on new meanings when you read the history of the people who settled Kenai. Interesting artifacts, stories, and photos are well worth your time. Check out the world's largest snag!

The Kenai Visitors & Cultural Center will allow you to discover what the city of Kenai is all about. They had great exhibits that were very interesting. Best part was that tgey had lots of magazines and pamphlets you can take with you. The museum is free also.

This museum and cultural center is a must-see if in Kenai. The exhibits are excellent re-creation of the history of Kenai. The exhibits are all representative of the native tribes and how the town evolved into the town it is today. You MUST see it when in Kenai!!Also anything you buy and admission fee go to keeping this cultural gem going!
