We enjoyed our time spent here. The course is great (though quite challenging!) and the setting is fantastic. Great views of the ocean from many of the holes. The club house and pool are wonderful!

This is a very nice golf course. I have played many nice courses and this ranks up there. While you do have some views of the ocean, none of the holes play right along the ocean. It is more of a hilly/mountainous course than an ocean course. It was in very nice condition and the staff was helpful and friendly. Although I really enjoyed the experience and am glad I played, I doubt I would play it again because I'm not sure it is worth what they are charging.

Played the Black Pearl at Pristine Bay, the course conditions particularly the fairways and greens were awesome just like the scenery and surroundings. The onshore breeze help drive the ball on those challenging par 5s. What I loved about the course was its set up as a beach course at sea level you don't expect to work yourself over steep hills up slopes and down slopes with two extraordinary par 3s, hole 10 and 12 outstanding!!! Overall and really fun and challenging course. Great experience.

The Black Pearl Golf Course has 4 tees at 7064, 6576, 6000 and 5323 for slope ratings between 119 and 112. From the moment we stepped out of the taxi the service was excellent: very friendly and helpful. Rental clubs were good for the price. There was no beverage cart on the course but bottles of water in an ice cooler were provided. When they tell you 'Water hazards and bunkers are also strategically placed throughout for added difficulty' it is true. There was water in the form of lakes and drainage channels beside and across the many fairways. The 12th hole is a challenging par 3 island green with a large elevation drop from the tee boxes. Great photo opportunity, but the wind plays with your shot. The sand trap that surrounds the green will catch some misses, if the water level is low. Many of the fairways had recently been aerated and were also wet, making several 'ground under repair' muddy. While providing good views there is a lot construction occurring with new condos and a marina being built that spoil several holes. Caddies are available. The other group had a one, but we did not.The course map on the scorecard is small and hard to read. Overall, I had high expectations for a world-class course and had a somewhat disappointing off-season experience. I expect the course will come back to its former condition and still recommend it.

Loved the layout. A strong addition to the Pete Dye portfolio of courses. Number 12 is the island par-3. You need to know your irons and fairway woods well. The wind, off the ocean, is going to impact your decisions. Don't attempt to wrestle this course and the winds. Embrace the layout. The greens can be soft. The clubhouse has a gorgeous view and the refreshments are very cold! What is curious is why the practice range is so far away. Allow yourself ten minutes from the clubhouse to get to the practice range and give yourself another ten minutes to reach the number one tee.

The restaurant is delicious and we also adore the beach bar and snack shop down by the beautiful pool area. The beach is white and water clear as can be. It is a luxurious experience to be on such a magnificent property with so many amenities. Golf, tennis, boating, snorkeling, eating, drinking and enjoying the colors of the sea.

Played the Black Pearl on an excursion from RCL(Navigator) on Dec 4th. Weather was exceptional considering it had rained most of the prior week so we were blessed. The course was a bit soggy in places, but all over it was in spectacular shape. Everything was lush and green. Fairways were cushy and the ball sat up just right. The greens were rolling so smooth that I finally got to score a bit on the back nine rolling in some very nice putts for five pars in a row. The staff was very courteous and friendly, they welcomed us from the moment we arrived on the property and made sure we had everything we needed including beer delivery on front nine after our cart died on the sixth hole. With a new cart, we made it to the 13th hole before it died again...:( . But 10 minutes later, we had a new cart and we finished the round without any further incident. Maybe they should invest in some new carts or non-electric carts as the hills do a number on the electric carts. We stopped for quick lunch at the turn (between 11 and 12) and it was great (turkey panini, chips, 2 beers), though for the overall cost of the round ($165 without tip for the caddie), a $16 lunch could have been thrown in to sweeten the deal. Add in $30 for rental clubs (which were nice Taylor Made clubs, burner 2.0 irons, SuperBurner driver) plus required caddie fee which granted I might have been too liberal with my cash ($60 total for two caddies, split 40/20, but they did a fantastic job), add in a cap purchased from the pro shop, for a grand total of almost $300 for the round. It was one of the best rounds of golf I have ever gladly paid for and would definitely do it again. Granted I think we should have been comp'd for the lunch given the double cart conk out, but they didn't offer and I didn't ask (shame on me). We finished the round in about 4 hours and though we should have had time to experience the restaurant and bar at Pristine Bay, we were whisked away in the tour van back the ship immediately after we settled up. Mostly because the group we rode in with were on the fishing trip excursion and they had waited over an hour for us to finish playing. Not our fault the tour driver didn't want to take them back to the ship and make a return trip for the golfers. The facilities were immaculate and very inviting so hopefully we can try that again next visit. If you are a golfer, you can not miss this opportunity to play a fantastic course with great views, great holes, and fabulous layout. You will not be disappointed!!!

This is a really beautiful gold course. We were here during the off season, so things were extremely quiet - made for a very peaceful Sunday morning. The views off to the ocean on the north were beautifully distracting - maybe that's why my showing was so poor :).

This course was great. We played all 18, it was hot, you can tell it is new and needs to mature, but it is already a gem to us. One word of warning, we had a caddy try to convince us we HAD to use his services at quite a cost. He was helpfull, but we disappointed to find we had been hoodwinked by him!

Superbly conditioned Pete Dye layout. Challenging around the greens, lots of elevation changes and nasty collection areas to catch wayward shots. yes, there is an island green on #11, not quite as nasty as #17 at the TPC Sawgrass (I have played both in the past year). Do take sunscreen and insect repellant, you will need both. The wind can play havoc with your shots. The forecaddie with us was very helpful. We had our cart breakdown suddenly on #14, he ran and got us another very quickly. Price was not bad either.

Wonderful place and view. Professional and kind staff (either at restaurant and golf course). Congratulation!

Tucked away in a gated community of Pristine Bay it was walking distance from our Hotel the Las Verandas. Beautiful ocean views, but a challenging course with the winds, sand bunkers and steep inclines. Very nice beach club with a huge pool..

I had the pleasure of playing a round of golf here while staying at Pristine Bay last week. The course was in great shape and the layout was tough but really playable. The island green is very similar to Sawgrass. The pro shop and staff were great and made the day very enjoyable. I played from the middle tees and shot an 89. My handicap is an 18- so you can get an idea of just how playable it actually is. For a break from the beach and the West End activities- this is the place to go!

We had the opportunity to view the golf course and eat in their restaurant. (you must be or know a member). The food was outstanding, but the view was unbelievable. Given the chance, take it quickly.

Challenging but not too challenging. Good course to have fun on. Views were nice and will get better once construction gets finished. Would definitely recommend if a golfer and going to be on roatan.
