Blue Beach is long and has a good variety open versus quiet, shaded spots. The sand is wide in spots and narrow in others. The swimming was very good. There is some protection from the waves along the eastern side and we found some good snorkeling along the point and island on that edge. It is such a long beach that it would take some time to explore where other good snorkeling spots are on it. A "must visit again" on our next trip to Vieques!

Good snorkeling, eagle rays, squid schools, turtles. parrot fish, filefish and many other small colorful fish. Sand is soft but sandburs are pesty.. Bring your own shelter, umbrella or tent.

Blue Beach is HUGE. It is a beautiful, huge bay and has several little pavilions scattered along the shoreline, often tucked away like a little private oasis. There is also abundant sun shelter from trees, although be VERY CAREFUL of sitting under the coconut palms; those coconuts DO fall off and you don't want to get clobbered by one! The ocean at Blue beach was a bit rough / not really swimmable during the time of my visit, but a low pressure system was approaching which made it quite breezy. There are no restroom facilities or facilities of any kind nearby, so you must pee in the bushes, and make sure you bring some snacks and plenty to drink. We had our little pavilion nestled among the palm trees all to ourselves for 3 hours! There were only about 12vother people on the entire beach within our eyesight!

I did enjoy this beach. Uncrowded, in fact, there were no ore than 10 people there, even on the weekend. We usually parked around post # 9-10. There are some lovely spots under the palms to get out of the sun. We did snorkel around the rocks and saw a few fish, but not as plentiful as around Mosquito Pier.

extremely pretty beach. haven't seen water this clear anywhere else. the sand is soft, and you can go quite far in, without the water being too deep. lots of snorkelling spots. But no other amenities like restrooms, showers, food etc. Parking spots are few on the trails leading to the beach. but the beach itself is lovely!

My wife and I are beginners in the world of snorkeling but gave it a shot at Blue Beach and we were very impressed with the sea flora and fauna we encountered. Unfortunately it was a rainy weekend so we didn't have beautiful skies overhead to keep the beach experience at a plus and parking was a bit hard to find (since we wanted to be left alone). Overall we hope to get back here someday and explore it more

we spent two days here, snorkeling and chilling with our kids. Wear shoes, as the sand is covered with vines and spiky things. The early comers got the picnic tables, we just set up by the palm trees.

Calm waves and lots of area to lounge. There isn't much snorkeling to do, but I enjoyed relaxing in the waves. Great beach!

La Chiva is an awesome spot for snorkeling, sun and some exploring. Great marine life sea turtes, sting rays, conch, and other marine life. No food stands so bring your own food and take your trash so we can keep it clean and beautiful.

looks very good in photos. if you have never been to a nice beach before, this might be exciting. the water is perfect temperature. i'm not a fan of the stickers. thousands of them. we had a group with a loud stereo on the beach next to us, they were getting drunk and obnoxious so we moved. you are aware by now, you don't lock your car. I think i had read it but didn't give it much thought. until i found myself wanting to leave...anything in the car. that over rode the entire trip. you have to schlep everything. down to the bottle of water. didn't see one seagull. not one. there was something erriely odd about that. not a fan of them either, but i have a new rule...if seagulls dont go to the beach...I don't either. unexploded bombs are not a joke when it comes to my loved ones. i don't know how to add a photo here, i tried...flip flops loaded with stickers. they hurt. they're in the sand. we put beach towels down and got comfortable until the towels touched skin. they got into everything.
