A very well done museum for those interested in Tesla. Those who do not know much about him would do well to come also, as he was one of the most interesting people who ever lived. Our children, aged 9, 11, and 13, enjoyed the visit very much. They had heard a lot about Tesla from their Croatian electrical engineer father, but I'm sure any child would enjoy it. Also lots of room for running and some playground equipment.

We have visited many places where Nikola Tesla was presented (Canada - Niagara Falls, Belgrade museum and exhibition at Gardoš). The memorial center is another place to get to know about his life and get the feeling of the small village he came from. I would suggest the some more experiments were shown, this would bring more teenagers around. The exhibition itself is well prepared, the film is also very interesting. But the sentence that was most imortant to me was something in the field like: I am proud of my Serbian ancestors and Croatian homeland. His work was devoted to humanity.

If you a driving from Zagreb to Split Gospić is in the middle of this voyage and Smiljan with Tesla memorial center is just 10 min from Motorway so take break go for a lunch (there are very good restaurants seriously cheaper than on Motorway restaurants) and visit it. memorial center was built few years ago and it is new, beautiful and interactive. Every two hours you can watch experiments in Tesla laboratory, and watch movie about his life. After this visit everyone would think about normal things on different way. Tesla was one of the most important person in the history of Science.

Recall, Nikola Tesla (Smiljan, 1856th - New York, 1943). Was one of the greatest scientist of the twentieth century. He was born in Lika. Elementary school and high school in Smiljan Gospic and Karlovac and studied in Graz, Austria. His inventions in the field of electrical engineering and discoveries in physics, left a strong imprint on the world, not only science, but their application reflected on improving the quality of life in general, which has earned the title of "the man who invented the twentieth century". Among other things, he invented the AC motor, which is the foundation of today's electrical propulsion. While his colleague Thomas A. Edison championed DC, has discovered multi-phase power transformer, thus allowing a bargain prenešenje high voltage electricity over long distances, and its mass application. He is considered the father of radio, although the merits of his life in this area appropriated Marconi. Injustice is corrected 1943rd U.S. Supreme Court's ruling that Tesla primacy belongs to the field of radio but, despite this redress, radio and associated more with Marconi. The discovery of the radio is considered one of his greatest inventions. He also worked on wireless energy transfer (his last major project was the construction of a giant tower on Long Island), he discovered X-rays and electron and his inventions was the forerunner of the modern weapons such as cruise missiles, and the Internet, because even a hundred years ago advocated the idea of "world system for connecting communication in one system." He left more than 700 patents and many of his inventions are still shrouded in secrecy. The man who pioneered technological developments of modern times, died in New York without public recognition, somewhat forgotten and lonely. About the injustices of the "Wizard of electricity" by the fact that three Nobel prizes awarded findings which was a pioneer Tesla - JJ Thompson got her to the discovery of the electron, W. Roentgen for his discovery of X-rays and G. Marconi to find a radio. Tesla though in recent decades it becomes a kind of scientific icons. In his honor the unit of magnetic induction is called tesla in the modern era and a brand of cars to electric drive. Interesting is the fact that he spoke eight languages fluently.

As an Technician and Tourist guide I was interested to see Tesla born house.I been there long time ago but still no memorial centre.Last December 2013 on the way from Zagreb to Split I drop out of highway with my daughter ,also tourist guide ,and son. We visited house inside and it can be seen that everything is renewed. But no furniture nothing to see how Tesla lived in this time.Only what we see is large amount of panels with explanation of Tesla life which we can read in the books. So by my opinion expensive ticket to see nothing and read what we know already

A great way to spend few hours learning some facts about Tesla life. For those who are not familiar with his work, there is a fantastic experiment in which you can participate :-) . It was nice to visit the place where such a world contributor was born and raised.

The Memorial Centre is a very nice and modern sight to explore where Tesla grew up and developed his passion for science and also learn about all his contributions to the world as we know it today. Interesting to learn about his relationtip with Bell and how Tesla first discovered X-rays (and not Rengen). During the visit we participated in some kind of experiment which was fantastic. I would have enjoyed everything even better if I were not in charge of a 5-year old who did not have much patience to let me enjoy the museum visit in peace, but they do have great playground on the site to amuse the kids.

We ended up here when our planned hike for the day was rained out, and overall we were pretty happy with the back-up plan. The Tesla museum is located right in the house where Tesla was actually born. The church where his father preached is right next door. While the museum has a few exhibits on the second floor and in a separate building, much of it just information about Tesla and his inventions. Fortunately, it's all very interesting as Tesla was both brilliant and prolific. I was already pretty well aware of his work with electricity and the alternating current that powers our world today, but Tesla had his hands in a staggering number of areas including wireless communication and x-ray. A favorite exhibit is a long timeline that wraps through two rooms, detailing what Tesla was working on at a given time, and pairing it with other major events around the world. Tesla was a remarkable scientist who lived through some very remarkable happenings in human history. This was a nice way to spend a couple of hours.

I was born in Buffalo, NY and have always been taught who Nikola Tesla was. What I didn't know was that he was born in Gospic, Croatia. This was the site of his birth home, the church his father served and also the barn where Tesla began his first experiments. It was also the site of where he began his fascination with hydro-electric power (which the Niagara River used so well in the late 1800's). The site has an interactive museum and play area for children and adults to learn and see more about Tesla's contributions and even the over 1000 patents that are attributed to him. The wealth of information left behind by and about Tesla is extensive and the museum has copies of all of these works. The church building is not open for viewing sadly, but the house is open for tours since it is also a museum. Go early, there are lots of school groups who come here regularly, I'm happy to say.Tesla is very well respected and well known in his home country.

Tesla really was just a pure genius and it was such a great pleasure to get to visit the home he grew up in and started his experimenting and learn some more about him.A very nice combination of detailed information about his life and achievements as well as some fun displays of his experiments and inventions. Is a bit of a drive from the highway, but definitely worth the effort if you are driving between Zagreb and any of the Dalmatian towns.

I have visited this place with my husband and a 4 year old son. It was really educational and I have enjoyed it a lot. take care to come when authorised person of the memorial center shows around his biggest inventions and takes you to the place to watch the film about Tesla's life.As there is a square in New York named by him, you should definitely come and see how far can you go from a small secluded village, to the world if you have a vision. It is also considered that Tesla had Aperger syndrom, form of autism, which brought best out of him. There is a small playground for the kids within the center, but no drinks or food nearby, so make sure you bring some by yourself.

I recommend a visit to all Nikola Tesla's fans and to those, who would like to spend an hour or two learning about one of the greatest minds of all times. This museum has it all: his bigraphy and photos, demonstration of some experiments, a film about his life and his birth house, surrounded by beautiful creeks, green pastures and forests.

È difficile credere che Nikola Tesla abbia vissuto lì, visto l'importanza che lui ha avuto per il mondo attuale! Comunque, il posto è interessante! Gli edifici sono in legno!
