Geysir盖歇尔间歇泉，当泉眼内受地热加温压力升高，高达100度的沸水升涌，爆炸一声直冲上20米的高空，又随即化作琼珠玉碎落下，周而复始不断反复，十分壮观。

出发时候都快12点了，有一班船是12：45，旅馆的人说开过去要一个半小时，我们想，那不是赶不上了么，博士哥说，试一试吧，不行就看看西边的风景。一路 我都在睡，醒来已经到了港口，没来得及买票人家就让我们上船了，等我跟睡醒的苹果姐反应过来，船已经开动啦！屌丝男一脸冷汗地说，这盘山公路都飙到140，都要飞出去了......好吧，这要是出事了，我都不知道自己死了！船 上吃了饭和酸奶，下了船继续开，本来想去看看溶洞，可惜很多洞都是limited，就是一定要跟tour，因为洞内黑，没有装备很危险，偶尔有一个是 open的，找了半天路开过去，路前方赫然耸立的牌子：小车not allowed!好吧，我们的车型给画了大大的叉叉，无奈地笑笑~拍了个远处的洞口，往首都附近的间歇泉Geysir前进。

This is the most active Geyser so you don't have a wait long for is to erupt and when it does - Wow, truly awesome. The power is magnificent. Top tip, don't stand down wind when Strokkur blows!

It was neat to walk among the hot springs and geysers and see Strokkur erupt. It was too cold to stand out there and explore but it would be good to go back in the summer when the weather is a little nicer.

Since Strokkur erupts so often this is a fun place to visit without the kids getting too bored. We didn't walk along all of the trails since our day there was very windy and the pathways were icy and slick and unsafe when carrying the kids. Standing next to Strokkur was fun though because you could see the level of the water changing and gurgling before it would erupt. Not knowing when it would happen was also part of the fun. The cafe had some good soup and bread and a rare find - licorice ice cream! The area is a frequent stop for the tour groups so it can be quite crowded - don't expect to be alone when visiting here.

We visited Strokkur geysir as part of the Grey Line Icelandic Tours.The entire site is fantastic, as it shows the raw strength of Iceland.Yes, the geysir smells of rotten eggs, but Wow! what a sight.The ultimate photo opportunity, as Strokkur erupts/ ejects about every five minutes.The cafe / giftshop/ loo's are lovely & clean. Food & drink is well priced.Don't miss it if you get the chance to go

We saw Strokkur as part of our golden circle tour. You can see it erupting from the road as you drive in, but it's best experienced up close. It can get quite busy with all the other tourists (about 4 coaches turned up at once!), so we took a wander around the other Geysir first, by which time, alot of people had viewed the eruption and moved on. Strokkur erupts quite frequently, and we were lucky enough to view a double eruption. It is a pretty cool show from mother nature, and one not to be missed if you are in Reykjavík. Once you have had enough of the cold and slippery walkways, head back across the road and grab some lunch or a hot drink to warm up. Toilets are available here for free and there is some souvenir shopping that can be done too. As I mentioned above, we did this as part of a golden circle tour, so we had about an hour and a half here in total and that was enough time for us. Perhaps when it's not so cold you may be able to spend more time wandering about, but it is definitely not an all day trip, so if you are hiring a car, make sure you plan other things to see that day too!

Worth a visit just to see the wonder of Mother Nature at work, it's a consistent regular geysir that blows about every 10-15 minutes and you can see it building up to it so it gives you time to get your camera ready. I would suggest not making a trip solely to see this and do it as part of a tour because unless you have hundreds of miles to travel or it's terribly busy it won't take all day.

Impressive indeed! Visited as part of the Golden Circle tour; had plenty of time to stop in the gift shop, have a cup of coffee, or a quick bowl of soup. I did forget what our guide said "not to stand in the direction the wind is blowing" when the geyser erupts - as a result, I got rained on by falling warm water! It was enjoyable anyway, and I recommend this attraction to anyone visiting Iceland.

Strokkur is very impressive, But there were just to many people about for me.Still great to see this natural wonder in action though

We done this as part of our own Golden Circle tour in our hired car. We started with the power station then headed to this. This was such an amazing sight. I've never seen anything like this before so was really surprised when I seen it erupting! It happens about every 10 minutes so we stayed quite a while to watch it a few times and take pictures. You can actually hear and see the eruption coming which is great! There are paths to walk around but are very slippery so be careful. It was very strange to see icicles hanging on the ropes considering that the temperature coming out of the geyser is between 80-100 degrees!Across the road from the geyser is a restaurant and shop with toilets. We didn't eat anything but is handy as the geyser and Gulfoss waterfall is in the middle of nowhere! Highly recommended especially on a nice day so you can appreciate it!

This is our second visit to Iceland this time we bought our children and they were just as impressed as we were.We visited the Geysirs during our Golden circle tour. There are many smaller Geysirs but the main one to go and see is Stokkur. This one errups roughly every 8 to 10 minutes. Stokkur is a short walk up a path past the smaller Geysirs and hot springs. You can see Stokkur errupting from the road. There is a cafe and shop across the road where you can purchase food and drinks. They also have toilets which you can use free of charge. The only problem was the very slippery ice but hey it is Iceland.

We was lucky enought to be staying at the hotel at Geysir, this meant we was able to visit at the less busy times of first thing in the morning or late in the day. I use a wheelchair so this was of great value to me, I did not have to wait until people to move so I could see, I had an unobstructed view. The Geysirs are amazing and so powerful nature is such a wonder. The walkways were well marked and the only trouble we had was getting the wheelchair over the ice patches, a pair of shoes grippers helped the pusher with this, (I had no problem as I was sitting). My family explored the wider area while I sat in the warm and watched. The center itself has a cafeteria, resturant, visitors center with the history of the Geysir area and a very good gift shop. The food is no more expensive than you would expect at any major tourist center where there is no competition.

We saw this as part of the Golden Circle tour, and had more than enought time to watch the geysers and have some lunch. The main geyser is a short walk along a path, and erupts every 8-10 minutes. On the way there are lots of small geysers and there is a strong sulphuric smell in the air. In winter the path is icy so wear strong footwear and multiple layers of clothes. There are two cafes and a gift shop in the main car park.

I'll begin with the fact that the conditions were brutal on the day we visited. There was a sustained strong and frigid wind that caused some people to fall when they were standing on icy areas. that being said it was kind of cool to see the Strokkur go off, I caught it once on my way up and then waited for what seemed like forever (mostly it felt long because of the wind) for it to go off again. This was another attraction I should have hit on the way back to Reykjavik and seen Gullfoss first given the weather that day. Worth a look, but don't expect to be amazed.
