Nikolas collects you from your hotel/apartment and drops you back again. He had a riding hat I could use and looked after me well during our 2 hour pony trek. The ponies are quite small, but the one I was on was well behaved. They have a strange walking/trotting gait which Nikolas does mention to you. I found it difficult to sit up and down during trotting like you normally would. Better just to sit in the saddle. The canter was normal, and it was lovely to be able to go for a canter on the beach (in winter there are no sun loungers and Nikolas can use the beach for pony trekking). He looks after his ponies. They all seemed well looked after and well fed.

When my wife suggested riding I was a little reluctant but so glad that she talked me into it. We went for the 2 hour trek and got picked up from our hotel and taken to the stables. The horses are really well looked after and our guide was very friendly, informative and made us feel comfortable as we are both beginners. It was a lovely relaxing ride and we got to explore areas of Stalis that we had not seen before. Fantastic morning activity, thank you.

This was the highlight of our holiday. Nikolas (or Greek George Clooney as my wife calls him) picked us up from our hotel and took us to his stables in the nearby hills of Stalis. We were given a swift lesson on horse handling and safety before he selected a horse for each of the 4 people in our party. Then after a few minutes getting each of us comfortable in the saddle off we went for an amazing 2 hour ride down the hill on to the beach and sea front before trekking back to the stables. This was my first time on a horse and as a 49 year old man in not the best of physical shape I found it quiet easy to master with a patient instructor/guide and very placid horse. We intend to return to Stalis next year and another riding session at Amarillis Stable will be at the top of our list. Highly recommended.

really enjoyed our evening ride, was a bit dubious at first as Cretan horses are quite small, but we needn't had worried and it was really good, the horses are pretty much bomb proof so felt really safe, thanks to nikolas for a wonderful experience,

When I first got there, I was really nervous, but like Nicholas said, I'm in charge not the horse. The scenery was beautiful, and breathtaking. I throughly enjoyed the experience, and falling off didn't put me off. Just glad the horse was ok.

Thoroughly enjoyed this horse riding tour. It can be a little scary in the first few moments for a beginner. But Nick the guide knows his horses very well and they are rather well trained. They have leant the route well and I felt quite safe when riding. Any worries just melt away at sight of the beautiful scenery which opens in front of us through out the journey. Make sure you follow the basic instructions on how to hold the horses correctly , relax and enjoy the ride. It's worth the thrill!

A fab but painful experience for beginner riders! We were well looked after by Nicholas who had custom made a saddle for younger riders. Rode through the mountains and along the beach at sunset. 2 hours is more than enough and would recommend an evening trip when it's cooled down a bit

Nikolas will give you a day to remember on your holiday, even if you have never rode horses before you will be very safe.

Nicholas was a great host from picking us up to dropping us off. The horses were well looked after in a very picturesque stable and riding them was truly a joy.Thank you Nicholas for a great time and buying the bottles of water.

Nothing else to say, the owner "Mr Nikos Clooney" was great, funny and welcoming. His way of thinking was admirable and he's the kind of person that knows how to make a difference between loving animals and making them your livelihood. The ride we had was beautiful, and we discovered amazing natural places of Stalis and Hersonissos. You can trust the horses, they are great and know how to give you confidence. As I said, Amarillis stable is perfect, do not hesitate and book for a ride there !

Both myself and my girlfriend (Sarah) had a great 2 hour trek. Nicholas was really pleasant and helped us through what to do, as we were both beginners. It was such an amazing way to view part of the island and a completely unique experience. Something that we would both quite happily do again and definitely recommend to others.Ed and Sarah

My wife and I booked to go out with Nikos when on holiday in Stalis and I'm so glad we did: Me, well I'm not too fond of horses but my wife loves riding: Within 20 minutes of being on my horse "Sisi" I was well and truly comfortable: We trekked through the mountains and then down a little village and on to the beach before riding through the town of Stalis.........Nikos was perfect and told us exactly how to control the horses (which to be honest know exactly where they were going)......We even got to trot and gallop.......Now even for a person like me who is scared of horses this was a brilliant way to spend a couple of hours, me and my horse became firm friends for the time I was on his back.........Nikos makes sure that if your inexperienced he'll put you on a horse that is gentle, he'll also make sure he has a riding hat that fits you and sort out all your stirrups before heading off..........Nikos even picked us up from our hotel and dropped us off after this little excellent adventure..............A definite must even if you don't have horse riding experience.

We booked the 2 hour ride with Nicholas today where we enjoyed mountain and above the beach scenery. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel in Hersonissos for no extra charge. We rode for 21/2 hours and took lots of pictures of the mountains in the background and also rode by the sea. You can tell how much he cares for his horses. We were inexperienced and he gave us the instruction and aid that we needed. He also gave us each a bottle of water and helmet. Nicholas was wonderful and we had such a fun day.

Run by a nice guy! Very funny! Nice horses... Be prepared to be a bit scared if you don't know about horses (like me)... It is dangerous lets be honest! You could easily fall off and get injured - but that goes for horse riding anywhere!Had a good experience and would recommend this to others.

Myself and my boyfriend were interested in finding somewhere to go horse riding and seen posters advertising the stable. We phoned up and booked in with Nicholas who was really friendly and polite. My boyfriend Had never rode before so was a bit nervous, Nicholas gave him a calmer horse. As iv had experience before I was able to gallop, And trot which was great. Nicholas was great and had lovely horses we had a great day with him and would definetly reccomend This!
