Beautiful beach with a clear water and white sand. Near the airport - so you can observe planes while sitting in the water :) A little bar on wheels, sunbeds (not for free of course) but no toilet :(

The day I have been at Diakofitis was an wind day, and despite that the water was calm. It is a sandy beach, with crystal waters. When you enter in the water you will find a great strip of shallow water before it gets deeper. A small trailer provides drinks and sun umbrellas.

This is the f inestimable beach of Karpathos. Period. The crystal watter give you the impression that floating in the sky!

At the beach Diakoftis you feel just like to be in the Maldives!There is a small place you can eat there delicious plates. Sunumbrellas are available on payment.

Fantastic light blue water similar to a pool! The road there is not difficult if you are nit equipped with a 4x4 car. Be careful and go when it is not windy, otherwise the strong wind in combination with the sand can become irritating.

Diakoftis beach is simply stunning. The water is beautifully clear, it has that 'carribean effect', the sand right at the edge of the water is PINK! Go in the water a few metres and check out the sea colour and the pink sand from that perspective - it is a true wonder. Don't forget to take photos.It's also great for kids because the water is quite shallow for about 10-15 metres.There is no natural shade there, but it's always windy, so it's not hot. Because of the stronger wind, you can't really put up your own umbrella. There is a little cantina at the beach so you can get some food, refreshments and shade there.Make sure you take a short walk to the 'second' beach that is nearby at the other side of the bay, which is also beautiful, but the water is classic blue.The road to this beach is not paved, so you have to go slowly all around the airport.Later I also saw on Google maps there is a small dirt road that goes on from the beach to a stranded ship by the shore, so I guess I will have to come back and check that out too :)Even if you don't like the wind and no natural shade I suggest you come here because the colours are just amazing.

Splendida spiaggia con l mare dai mille colori, un po lontana da raggiungere dalla capitale. E' dall'altra parte dell'isola. Presenza costante il vento, da augurarsi che non sia troppo teso. Vale la pena andarci.

Bellissima spiaggia, bellissimo mare. Dopo aver fato uno sterrato di Km 10 che costeggia l'area dell'aeroporto si giunge in questo posto incantato: sabbia fine e mare tropicale. Unico neo: se c'è il vento (e quando c'è si sente!) non si riesce ad apprezzare fino in fondo il posto se volete fare vita balneare .

Siamo stati soltanto una volta in questa bellissima spiaggia e non c'era vento, la strada per arrivarci non è asfaltata ed è piuttosto lunga (con lo scooter è un po disagevole) ma vale assolutamente la pena, l'acqua è bellissima limpida calda e digrada dolcemente, quindi è adatta anche ai bimbi. dall'altro lato dell'istmo c'è un'altra spiaggia un po' meno affollata ma anche meno bella. Noi siamo arrivati in tarda mattinata ed i pochi ombrelloni erano già tutti presi, quindi è meglio arrivare presto per trovare posto. C'è anche un camper/taverna (un po' più cara della media) in cui mangiare ma anche qui non aspettate l'ultimo minuto per andare altrimenti troverete solo posti al sole.

anche quest'anno siamo riusciti a trovare una giornata non troppo ventosa per stare in questa spiaggia che è una delle mie preferite. Dico questo perché se ci vai con il vento che supera i 30 km orari (e questo a Karpathos accade spesso) la sabbia fine della spiaggia esposta a sud ovest si solleva e non si può stare neppure nei lettini. Al massimo bisogna ripiegare nella spiaggia sul versante est con la sabbia un po' granitica e meno ventosa. Sono entrambe belle ma quella di sud ovest è proprio caraibica: la sabbia nel bagnasciuga è tendente al rosa e il mare celeste meraviglioso. L'unico punto di ristoro è una specie di camper con una veranda in legno e qualche tavolino, dove fanno pochi piatti ma ad occhio sembravano invitanti. Io ho preso solo un nescafè frappè ed il ghiaccio viene inserito nella tazza con le mani nude che poco prima hanno toccato denaro o anche il secchio della spazzatura. Insomma non bisogna formalizzarsi.

Piękna plaża, przejrzysta woda, miałki piasek. Na miejscu niezbyt droga gastronomia. Polecam dojazd quadem.

Questa spiaggia è bellissima; di sabbia e con il mare poco alto per un buon percorso. I colori e la trasparenza del mare sono stupendi. Alle spalle di questa spiaggia c'è un'altra bella spiaggia, ma con i sassi. Per raggiungerla c'è da percorrere una lunga strada sterrata con sassi e qualche buca, ma ne vale la pena. Sul luogo c'è un servizio vendita bibite e affittano gli ombrelloni con i lettini.

molto ventosa ma sabbiosa e con un mare cristallino che sembra una tavola. Servita solo da un camioncino/taverna.

il servizio lettini ed ombrelloni era carente, vi erano alcuni ombrelloni fatiscenti che facevano bella mostra di sé come spaventapasseri, sarebbe stato meglio toglierli visto che erano inutilizzabili.
