Just behind the Colegiata de Santa Maria, Toro has a famous 'mirador' with a stupendously romantic view over the Duero river stretching away into the distance. As I stood there, it struck me that King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella also probably stood about here before the Battle of Toro in 1476. Not to be missed.
