A group of eight stayed here for 2 nights, 4 had their own separate rooms and 4 chose to double up. The rooms are incredible with state of the art technology. Both the golf courses are unique and breathtaking designs, favoring courses such as Whistling Straits and Bandon Dunes. But don't think there are easy by any stretch of the imagination, you need to play the courses at least twice before you can even think about posting a decent score. The greens are incredibly fast and have severe breaks. But you should walk the course with a caddy who can help keep you out of trouble on your maiden rounds. And take a camera by all means. The clubhouse is well stocked with the latest equipment and fashion in golf clothing for both men and women. The service and the food in the restaurants are of 5 Star quality. But, and here's the biggest but, the front desk service dropped my experience from great to average. I was expecting a very important document to be delivered to me during my stay at Streamsong and had alerted the front desk accordingly prior to my arrival. They assured me it would delivered to my room as soon it was delivered. The document was shipped overnight via FedEx and they confirmed the package was delivered to Streamsong at 3:34 PM on 02-23-15. Expecting the package to be at the front desk, I checked with the young lady behind the desk after my round at approximately 4:30PM on 02-23, she briefly looked around the desk and said no it hadn't come in and she would call me when it did! In the interim I checked with FedEx and they informed me the package had in fact been delivered to Streamsong and gave me the name of the Streamsong employee who signed for the package, So I went back downstairs and before I can the tell the same young lady behind the desk the package had been delivered, she saw me and her reply was " I checked Mr. (name withheld) and we have not received your package!". At that point I was quick to inform in fact the package was delivered and gave her the name of the employee who signed for it. This caught her by surprise, she become somewhat defensive and told me that person worked in the pro-shop some 2-3 miles away and that I could pick it from them. This is where I have real issue, Streamsong touts themselves as a 5 Star Resort which generally means they cater to the guest's every whim and at the very least she should have apologized for the "oversight" and had the package delivered to my room on a priority basis, But instead I had to retrieve my own car from their "Complimentary Valet Parking Service" as they was no attendant to found after a 15 minute wait and retrieve my document from the Pro-Shop which is still a mystery as to why it was delivered to them verse the hotel in the first place. AND it appears they overcharged me in the excess of $400 on my credit card which the credit card company currently is attempting to satisfy the correct amount of charges.

6 buddies made a 3 day golf trip to Streamsong last weekend. Both the Red and Blue courses are excellent with many elevation changes and greens with many moguls, although I preferred the Blue. The courses have the minimalist feel of Scottish or Irish courses. The hotel facilities, which are 10-minute ride from the courses, are beautiful, modern and spacious in an industrial looking building. This is where the superlatives end. The staff seemed to focus on large groups and were rather lethargic to our small group. When we arrived a private party had taken over the hotel lobby and it took me 20 minutes to get my luggage. The staff circled around the private party like sharks and we were pretty much ignored. After a meal at the hotel restaurant, our server disappeared for quite a while when our check should have arrived. Then there was the snafu of dividing the bill evenly. No one could provide change for large bills; not the front desk, not the pro shop, not the restaurant 59 at the course. Finally, I sweet talked a server to have it broken by the chef so I pay my caddie. There is absolutely NO excuse for not having change for guests, especially when you have to pay caddies in cash. I was not the only person looking for change. For the price point, the service overall was lackluster. Finally, there needs to be some organization at the bag pick-up area next to the putting green before you start your round. It was total chaos with no way to tell who the starter was for each course. How about a Red hat and Blue hat for each course? Also, it would be nice to have a tent or something where the starters would hang out. As it was, they just wandered around the area. The shuttle to take the golfers to the range should turn around BEFORE it gets in the congested area with the caddies, the bags and the golfers waiting to tee off. I know it can be better organized if someone would just take control. Oh by the way, we booked two times for three-somes, and of course, the starter tried to make us go as a four-some and a two-some. We were able to have some other golfers swap times with us so we could go as 2 three-somes so we could have our match.Bob M.

Great place to eat and look out to the golf course. Good steak and fish place. Great lockers and easy to get to from the hotel...

we played the blue course, both walking and carrying our bags. nothing too strenuous.beautiful course and surroundings. out in the middle of nowhere. no houses around, rare sounds of a car.was made on a long abandoned phosphate mine, so there are tailing 'dunes' overgrown. neat.I am a high handicapper, and did not lose a ball. that is not to say that I stayed on the fairways, but it was findable :) (usually in a sandy waste area). I felt the blue fairways of generous width (I heard the red course is tighter). we did not have a caddy, but the other couple did. so I feel one is not absolutely needed, but was helpful in getting our bearings and pointing out hidden problems. I would recommend at least sharing a forecaddie.ate dinner in the P2O5 restaurant. good real. not busy til later.staff were all friendly and very helpful.expensive golf, stay, and eats. but one of our best golfing 'splurges' for sure

I have played many golf courses and many good places, and this is among the very best. Streamsong's two courses compliment each other exceedingly well and both are terrific tests of the game. The elevation changes are unusual in Florida and very well used. The designs are spectacular using water and sand along with waste areas to maximum capacity. The clubhouse and staff are professional and first rate. This is among the "must play" golf destinations along the East coast and probably whole country. Not to be missed.

OK, they are American links.......because on the red course you have to be able to play a high ball in order to be able to stop the ball on the green or dump it in a bunker. One can play the blue course with various kinds of play.Still, the greens are new and hard, not perceptive.Walking the course is fine IF you are used to a pull trolley. I am used to walking but the pull trolley was a bit much! Caddies are fine but a bit vocal. (not all)They are nice courses but might be a bit disappointing after all the GREAT advertising.

Top notch golf. A bit of a drive but definitely worth checking out. I'm a big fan of this Golf facility and the price point is very fair. Take a caddie for maximum enjoyment. My caddie was Ray. A laid back guy from Bethpage. One of if not the best caddies I have ever had. Knew what I needed and when I needed it. Can't wait for my return trip. Great course conditions, fast greens and great service all around.

We were recent guests at Streamsong Resort. We booked at table at Restaurant 59 at the Clubhouse for dinner, and we were very disappointed. They were out of the top items on the menu - fresh grouper and filet mignon. The prices on the steaks were exorbitant. I don't mind paying top dollar for a steak if it's the quality of Sullivan's or Ruth Chris. This restaurant billed their meats as being this quality. We paid $60 for a Porterhouse steak. It was about 1/2 inch thick, grisly, and served cold. We ordered a side of potatoes, which was at least hot, but rather a gelatinous mess, and asparagus, which was very good. Our waitress was very sweet, but her training was obviously lacking. The food came out quickly, so I was really at a loss to figure out why the steak would have been cold. She then stayed a chatted a long time once our food was served. We ordered a bottle of wine, and were still finishing our last glass when we were offered dessert. If the prices were not so high, none of this would have bothered me; however, when one is paying top dollar, I think excellent service, hot food and professionalism is to be expected.

Just went on my second visit to Streamsong dec 4-6. My first visit was November 2013. This place is hands down the best golf resort on the east coast and possibly anywhere. First of all, it is JUST golf. This is a place that true golfers will enjoy, not so much people that go on golf vacations as an excuse to go away on a guys trip. It's pure golf. The red in my opinion is slightly better and more penal tee to green than the blue but the blue has a sporty, enjoyable feel to it while still challenging enough. Wind plays a big factor in the difficulty day to day as well. The rooms are extremely nice, large, clean and modern. Food is good not great. We had two terrific caddies. Chris (C cat) and Noah. C cat was great company and had tremendous knowledge of the greens. He is a top tier caddie. Noah has caddied and played on the PGA tour and had a great demeanor and a wealth of knowledge about the game. Most importantly they were terrific company in addition to their caddie abilities. Would strongly recommend them. I will be coming back in march (already booked the trip) and look forward to playing these great courses again.

So happy we were able to play this course because of the unusual terrain and excellent condition. It was once the site of a phosphate mine which left the landscape with hills and undulations to give an interesting and challenging design. Caddies are mandatory and we found necessary. It's a must!

Who would think that a superior world class golf course lies in the middle of nowhere about an hour and a half from my home in Clearwater, Florida. This course is a very special place. It is unlike most every other golf course in Florida with interesting terrain and undulating greens. There are no country club homes lining the fairways just mounds from the remains of phosphate mines, wasteland and some very deep bunkers (1 about 1 story high). We played just after a full day of rain which worked to our advantage as the greens might have been close to impossible in dry conditions. We had 1 personable laid back caddie who helped us navigate the course which was extremely helpful. I strongly recommend making a detour to Streamsong if you are in the Tampa Bay, Orlando or Sarasota area and you want to experience a unique and challenging golf course.

These two courses and the whole Streamsong experience is second to none. Customer service is top notch, the courses are to die for (although very challenging) and the remote location actually only adds to the vibe of the place that is focused on golf. We also stayed at the Lodge, which was outstanding.

Spectacular golf and great staff. The resort Hotel was superb and the room were super. The golf clubhouse was well stocked and the staff very helpful. The golf course is short with wide fairways, we all used caddies and they were needed and were excellent in helping to read the greens. Bring your 'A GAME' for the greens. The Golf course, hotel and clubhouse were all above average, thefood served in the hotel was average at best and did not match the quality of the golf and hotel. The group (12 players) plan to return in 2015.
