I have been to several winery's in vermont and Boyden Valley is the best. Friendly knowledgeable and best of all great wines! The worst part was trying to decide which wines to buy.

While visiting family in So. Burlington we decided to visit the Winery, there aren't many in this part of the USA. Like most of Vermont the country side is beautiful so already the place is a treat! The red barn where you start your visit is so nice, the wood work and whole thing.The visit is simple but interesting and practical, I would say well balanced.Then the wine tasting its surely worth it, the do great job. Nice wine! The Vermont Ice wine is second to none. The ciders are very refreshing and sharp.We complemented the whole experience with a cheese plate.Over all experience, Excellent !!!

Seven of us stopped at the Boyden Valley Winery to go on the tour. We took part in the tasting first then learned a lot about the family run business. It was fun to go to the winery where the wine at our dinner the night before was made. We had to purchase some wine to bring home. Some of the wines I would not have had a chance to experience if it wasn't for the tasting. This was a fun way to branch out.

Stopped by here on New Year's Eve. The wine tasting area was pretty busy with three workers. All three staff members interacted with us at some point during our visit. They were all very friendly and knowledgable. My fiancé and I enjoyed all the 7 wines we were able to try. They also have two liquors and ciders you can try. All very delicious and smooth. We had used a Groupon so we paid $14 for two glasses of wine, tasting and two wine glasses. Most of their wines are around $18 a bottle. Totally worth the splurge. We drove from Morrisville and it was definitely worth the 40 minute drive! Great work at Boyden. I would just recommend calling ahead to check hours.

After a day of skiing at Smuggs, (earliest we have ever skied) we stopped at Boyden Valley. Have done tours in California, Oregon and Washington but never Vermont. We were greeted by a friendly, knowledgeable guy named Laurence who took us thru the tasting offering info on the wine, the winery, his heritage, knowledge of the Swedish language (long story) and so on. It was pleasantly paced and a lot of fun.The wine, well its not Carneros or Russian River but we enjoyed it and purchased the Vermont Ice Cider, a Rose and a white named "Cowtipper". Also one bottle of Cassis a port equivalent.All this housed in a classy, two story barn. Well worth a visit.

The tasting room at this winery was in a beautiful old red Vermont barn, and wasfilled with people on a beautiful autumn day. We got tons of information about the yummy wines that we got to taste, in our wine glasses that you get to keep. I believe it was $7.00 and you got to choose 10 different wines to taste. The tour was very informative and our guide was very entertaining. The grounds are beautiful too, and there are some outdoor tables if you want to buy and enjoy some wine outdoors.

We visited Boyden Winery yesterday and were greeted by a very friendly woman who was very happy to be working! She was cheerful and very knowledgable of the wines and the process of making each vine. We go to wineries a lot and this by far was one of our best experiences. The worst part was choosing which wine to bring home.. The winners were a Cranberry semi dry rose wine from cranberries grown in Fletcher, Vt., and a Vermont Ice Maple Creme made with Apple Brandy and Estate Maple Syrup and cream. Can't wait to mix it with my coffee on a cold winter night.

Although we never like to hear that someone has had a less than excellent experience, we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback so we can understand areas where we might be able to improve.I apologize that you felt that your wine consultant was pretentious and unhappy that you split your tasting. I will certainly follow-up with all of my staff members to ensure this is not the case since we often have people that choose to share a tasting for a number of reasons. We went there based on a recommendation from a member of the staff at the Sterling Ridge Resort. Their products are award winning, which we learned upon our arrival and truly are delicious. We bought several bottles to take home with us.

My husband and I were traveling throughout Vermont to see the fall foliage. We stopped at this winery. What a pleasant surprise. The folks were very friendly and knowledgeable and the wine was wonderful!

My husband and I are staying in Stowe, Vermont for a work conference of mine. I absolutely love wine and visiting local wineries, so we decided to check out Boyden Valley Winery in our downtime. It was $10 a person for a tasting. This included 7 wines to taste, a wine glass with the Boyden Valley Winery logo on it and a chocolate. Even though most of the wineries I have been to do not charge a tasting fee (most wineries I go to are in Southwestern, PA which is where I live- not sure about other wineries), it was absolutely worth the money! The staff member helping us (I am so mad I did not catch her name!) was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate about the wine, super friendly and interactive with us. She was truly a delight! I love dry wines and my husband enjoys sweet wines. Despite our different tastes, the staffer took her time talking to us and explaining the flavors of each wine we tried, as well as telling us about the different grapes used for each wine, where they are grown, etc. I felt like I was talking to an expert in all things wine who really knew her stuff, and also knew how to explain it to a couple of lay-people who love wine, but don't know the science or intricacies of it. Also, a lot of wineries I come across that sell ice wines do not allow people to taste them, or if they do, charge an extra fee. This could be the reason for the tasting fee, as my husband tasted several ice wines while there, and he enjoyed all of them. The winery also sold a couple of hard ciders, which my husband enjoyed as well. It is nice to have this variety if there is someone in your party who doesn't care for wine. After the tasting, my husband and I each enjoyed a glass of wine outside on the patio, overlooking some of the vines and fields of the winery as well as the beautiful Vermont mountains in the background. I have been to many wineries, but this is probably the best one I have every been to. Great wine, and great staff! If you are in the area, you should absolutely check out this winery!

I've driven by this winery many times when visiting Vermont and I never stopped to visit. Yet I've visited many wineries in Canada and the States. Well it was a rainy day and we decided to satisfy our curiosity about the place - and had a wonderful visit! First we did the wine tasting and the person walking us through the experience was knowledgeable and friendly. We weren't rushed and as a result we decided to have their "French Gourmet" Cheese Plate. It came with everything you could imagine (see their website) and it rounded out our experience. I loved the ambiance, the service and of course the meal (light lunch) was delicious. After, we wandered around and bought wines. Sometimes the best experiences are closer than you think!

We just recently spent a girls weekend in Vermont. We stopped at a few wineries and breweries from Burlington to Stowe to Cambridge. This was by far the best winery! Not only is the building beautiful but the selection of wines is the best. Not only do they have the basic reds & whites but they have ice wines, dessert wines, hard cider and cream liqueurs on the tasting list. The best part is that you get to choose ten items that you want to try from the list. They don't dictate what you have to try. We had five people in our group and the guy serving us was really nice about giving someone an extra taste if someone else had something that they wanted to try. They were very accommodating, fun and friendly. It was evident that they are passionate about their wine. We were all very impressed by how good everything was. Many of us loved some of the ice wines and liqueurs that we did not expect to. We purchased a whole lot more than we intended to. It is also a nice touch that you get a great chocolate at the end & the glass is nice as well. We definitely plan to go back here at some point.

Second trip to this place just this past weekend.We arrived on Motorbikes and had the tasting of some very delicious wines and ciders.This place knows how to do it - and for those who come from QC - they speak french!Definitely a place to visit and tour.

Went for a wine tasting and discovered they had a harvest festival going on. Wine tasting went great, definitely picked out some new favorites that we have added to our wine selection. Discovered Glögg which is going to be a great additive to the holidays. If you're up there, check the place out!
