Love the different choices of cheese and other food products and the made candy there. We visit there every time we go to Ashland. It is a must place to visit

Been here a handful of times. Each time I visit family in Ohio, I will try and make sure I stop here. I love the cheesebarn. The cheese, salsas, snacks, and dip mixes they make are absolutely to die for. And the prices are reasonable. We also enjoyed lunch here in their quaint seating area. They have the best salsas and cheese curds ever. You simply must stop here. You can enjoy samples of just about everything they sell No one walks out without buying something.. The best thing is that all the 'treats' you can buy here are pretty much healthy for you. Truly a place for families to stop, grab a quick bite, and a bunch of gifts.

Kind of a tourist trap, but a fun one. Located right off I-71, samples galore are available. Meat sticks, cheese, jellies, dips, mustards, etc, etc. It's like driving through Amish Country without the buggies. There;s also a candy shop but I didn't visit.

Stopped by recently to grab some authentic amish country goods, some cheese, and a few other goodies. Great selection and tasty cookies!

Grandpa's Cheesebarn has a great selection of cheeses and snack foods, jellies, sauces, etc. If you can't find a particular kind of cheese here, you probably can't find it anywhere. They are a bit pricey but their products are good, as is the service. Nice stop on a road trip down I-71 just outside of Ashland, Oh.

Good stop, especially if you're hungry.Samples of cheese, meat sticks, Jelly/Jam, etc. upstairs. Candy, soup mixes, sandwich shop, etc. downstairs. Delicious food...came back this time with 3 types of cheese & Muscat Grape Cider. Was checked out by Grandpa himself & enjoyed conversation with him. Wonderful family atmosphere & yummy foods.

I LOVED Grandpas Cheesebarn! Kind of stumbled across it and am glad we did. Upstairs theres a ton of samples. Cheese, Jelly/Jam, Salsa, Jerky, BBQ sauces, Pickles, cheese spreads, crackers...just a TON of stuff. Downstairs theres more of the same plus muffin mixes, scone mixes, soups, misc trinkets, spices, popcorn and a counter where you can order lunch if you want. In another bldg/trailer next to it, there's a place called Sweeties where you can get quality candy. White chocolate bark & chocolate toffee were both fantastic.

Every time we drive from Akron to Columbus we stop here as our half way point to have snacks because they set out samples of almost everything! It's like a free lunch. Then we purchase our favorite spread and cheese or salsa and pickles from the day to take home and enjoy with others. The kids love it too!

Great unique food and selections. Everything can be sampled. Close off the highway. Stop by if you have a few minutes.

This place is an absolute must stop. I had driven by here for years before stopping about 2 years ago. I now stop everytime I am going to Columbus, and never get out without spending $50. So much to choose, and you can sample it all. I love the spicy jerky, and cheeses. This last time this is what I left with - chocolate covered smoked bacon strips, fruity popcorn, bacon cheddar popcorn, jerky, beefsticks, homemade peanut butter, red raspberry cider, peach cider, cranberry cheese, toffee cheese, apple strudel fudge, and a milkshake that was unbelievable - peanut butter marshmallow milkshake !!Anyway, you see my point, I always get cider and jerky and always try something new, which was the milkshake which will now be a must.

A friend told us about this destination - that we've passed up a few times. But this time, after our trip to Smucker's... we drove 30 minutes west to Grandpa's Cheesebarn and then was able to hop right back on the highway home. This was like taking a trip to a mini-amish country. There were little "gifty" things, snack mixes, meats... oh and CHEESE!!!! TONS of cheese! Bring a cooler if you like many cheeses! You can sample them all! Sandwiches, ice cream and bakery items are available to eat at indoor and outdoor seating areas. Also, there is a terrific little candy store on the same property that was fun to walk through.

If you're passing north of Columbus on 71 make time to stop at Grandpa's Cheesebarn. It's a neat roadside stop with every kind of cheese you can imagine! And SAMPLES! Don't waste money on lunch, just stop by! Definitely a cool place to see!

EVERYTHING can be sampled. You know exactly what you are buying. They have dozens of specialty cheeses. My favorites are the steakhouse onion cheddar and horseradish cheddar. Their normal cheeses are good but overpriced.

All the cheese and meats you want! Samples provided. best huge home made cookies I've had, crunchy on the edges soft in the middle. go get some fudge next door!

In Ohio, many people associate cheese with the Amish tourist areas near Berlin. However, if you are driving by Ashland on I-71, do yourself a favor and jump off on the Rt. 250 exit and Grandpa's Cheesebarn is right next to the exit. They have an fantastic selection of cheeses and plenty of freebies so you can taste some of the more exotic cheeses before you buy. But it isn't just cheese, there are lots of gifts and such to be found here. Worth the stop.
