We stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. The water to our site was a long way from our RV so we had to make it on what we had in our tank.

We just camped here this last weekend and had a blast! People whom worked there were friendly and helpful to us we had no complaints. The camp site was clean and the size of it was Large and the view was great. We were able to still swim from the campsite which made up for the beach being closed due to low water levels. We are already planing another stay with them here in a couple of weeks. Perfect get way for us!!

I agree the people at the campground were very rude. I just went to pick up a friend who decided not to stay. I had to give a 5 minute explanation and eventually the older man told me to hurry up and I better be right back. Even as we left they stopped us to say I shouldnt have parked next to an empty campground. I was there for less than a minute while I waited and I didnt want to park in the road. I dont understand why they are soo unwelcoming. I live ten minutes from there but will never stay there. I would rather drive somewhere where I feel welcome.

This is a good beach for families, but the weekends can get crowded. There are lots of shade trees close to the beach which helps with the heat.

We have stayed at this campground many times over the past 5 years and the staff there has been very courteous. The previous reviewer must have instigated such a situation as described. Obviously all the signs posted were not observed or you would not have attempted to use a campground without paying required fees like everyone else. Read the signs, follow instructions, treat others as you expect to be treated and you will not have problems with anyone at this very fine campground.

Worst experience ever. We called to make a reservation and the man on the phone told us we didn't need to make one. So we pulled up to the gate, ready to pay. We sat there for a good 15 minutes while the old lady was talking on the phone. She looked at us and waved us on. Meanwhile we drove around looking for a spot to camp, when we found one we set up our tent. We were there for about 4 hours. At about 11 pm the rude old man drove up, almost HITTING our tent and told us we had to move or he would do it for us. My husband tried to talk to the man and he wouldn't listen at all. He pointed where to put our tent and there was a sign right where he was pointing that said NO camping. So anyway, we set up our tent right in front of the sign. The next day, he drives up, again YELLING at my husband because we are parked in the wrong spot. Had the lady at the front desk been helpful, we would have known the rules and been happy to abide by them... but since she wasn't, we left without paying. Take your money elsewhere.

Worst experience. Very rude park attendant. He literally yelled at us because we had our tent in the wrong spot. I told them where we had the tent when I payed, but shortly after this man came DRIVING RIGHT THRU our campsite and told us in a very mean way to get out. He wouldn't even have a coversation, just kept telling us "I told you where to camp", but he didn't. I've had a couple days to think about this and still am furious at the way I was talked to and treated. Camp somewhere else.

Don't go to the camping area at Tall Chief. We didn't know that we weren't allowed to use empty picnic tables in the camping area because there was no one at the gate house when we went in. We had been swimming for about an hour when a rude man asked us if we were camping. When we told him no, he said "Then get out." My husband asked him what the problem was and he said that we could NOT use a vacant picnic table without paying $12. My husband offered to pay, but then the gate keeper changed the price to $20. All the while he was literally screaming at my husband, who was just trying to talk to him calmly. The man's name is Son O'Dell and he's the gate keeper at Tall Chief.Whatever you do, DON'T go to Tall Chief. After this experience, I don't think we'll even go back to Skiatook. There are dozens of nice places within a few minutes drive to swim and picnic.
