A nice place to visit once, however they were not very friendly. My daughter's class was going and my wife was going to join my daughter which the school told her would be fine. Once my wife arrived they refused to let my wife in and claimed they were full capacity (which was not true). My daughter's teacher asked why my wife was not there as my wife always assists with field trips and the teacher was very surprised and not pleased either.

this place is about early prairie history. it depicts the life on the plains. they have, really put a lot into getting some historic buildings on this site, from, mostly the 1800's. they do have a gift shop here, too.

I love history!! I live watching my son grow up learning more and more about "the olden days" as we call it. We visit the museum often for all events!! A must go!!! Worth a drive and a few bucks!!!

I have been to Stuhr twice, passing through in the middle of the summer but I wouldd love to make it for an event. Welcoming guides and very knowledgeable. (Don't miss the blacksmith!). Great attention to detail in the restoration and furnishing of the buildings. As a bonus, their cafe is always open with food available on the grounds at any time and the General Store offers great merchandise for a truly old fashioned shopping experience.

Main building under construction, and being off-season, several other areas were only available for exterior viewing. But they gave us a good discount due to the limitations, and we enjoyed what we could see.

How do you get a child of the internet to "get into" the past? Turn off their computers and iPhones and show them what life was like in the 1890's railroad town at the Stuhr museum. I recently took my great niece to the facility to give her a taste of history. I don't know how deeply everything registered with her but we went to take a look at the buffalo near railroad town and she was amazed. We talked about the millions like him that once roamed the Great Plains. Looking at the great beast and multiplying him in her mind made a tremendous impression on her.

Stuhr offers special times for school kids to come out. Local schools take advantage of this time. As adults, the museum and all the old buildings are extremely interesting. Grandson recently held his wedding at the Stuhr Museum Gazebo. Staff was very helpful with photos, set-up and take down. Very well laid out so it is not crowded.

We go to Stuhr Museum several times a year. We make sure to make it to the events when we can and on lazy weekend afternoons this is our favorite place to picnic. The ducks walk right up to you and get a little pushy for food. (we usually end up sitting on the tabletop til we are done) I am an animal lover and what is cuter than a duck? Then we love walking through the arbor and into the Village. Wonderful place - make sure you visit!

The Stuhr Museum is a great family attraction. The main building was closed for renovations but the Rail Road town was fantastic. The interpreters explain how life was in the 1890's. The blacksmith, tinsmith, wood shop, and hat shop were fantastic. The general mercantile and the saloon are fun shopping experiences. I highly recommend this attraction. Well worth the entrance fee.

Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer is an awesome museum. It has indoor museums plus a resored prairie town. Several areas of interest plus a museum of old farm equipment, etc. A must see while if traveling I80 in Nebraska!

Truly a trip back in time. We enjoyed our visit very much. The old railroad town was very interesting and a relaxing way to spend a summer day. Also, the Fonner collection of artifacts was very interesting. Too bad the main building was closed for renovations, though. All in all, an extremely worthwhile attraction.

I could not believe how much fun my 9 grandkids had!!! So much fun, they asked to go back their the next day and we did. We enjoed seeing the old houses and especially the greeters in the homes that told us all about the homes and the families that lived in them. We are going back plus, I decided to buy a year membership. I highly recommend this great place!!!!!
