This is a great museum, even if you aren't a huge car person. My hubby and I didn't think we were car people until we decided to visit this museum recently on a family trip. WOW! What a cross section and history of the automobile! It was amazing to walk through all the variety of cars...they just kept going and going. The stories, the history, the beauty of each car...stunning!! This will take a lot of walking, and I wouldn't recommend it for kids under 10 if you are trying to get the most out of it (my 7 year old got bored and tired after an hour or two, but we still wanted to see more). They have great documentaries spaced throughout the levels, at good walking/break places. I think going here really made us more aware of older cars and the developments and changes over the years. They take a commemorative photo for you that is emailed free, there are kids stations to draw and race cars, as well as fun, electric car racing (for a fee). Parking was reasonable. They have a nice gift shop.

A great museum, configured so that you can traverse the four floors on an inclined ramp without using stairs or elevators. A great collection of vintage automobiles, as well as a few attractions that will keep children of all ages amused. Store has tempting items, but restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Ample parking for a very reasonable fee for a city.

We stumbled across this museum completely by accident. We were in Tacoma to do to the Glass Museum and saw this as we drove by.My husband is a huge car fan (especially old cars) and he was in heaven. The building is beautiful. The layout is good. It requires a lot of walking but there are slight slopes that make it easy (rather than staircases). This layout would also make it very good if you have someone in your party who is in a wheel chair. The hallways are extremely wide and even if crowded, there would be plenty of space.I am not particularly a car fan but do love to see the old ones and LeMay has quite a collection. Awesome really. I also liked some of the historical facts that are nicely displayed on the walls - making of the custom cars, Route 66, etc.The cars are mostly old and current. There are some specialty (ie, Flintstone Mobile and DeLorean) but not many futuristic or concept cars. There are some simulators and a few other interactive things for kids.We could imagine that this would be a great spot to host a work networking event (if they let you do that sort of thing). The day we were there, parking was fine and we didn’t mind paying the $5. I can imagine that it could be terrible if you happened to try to go to the museum when a big event was starting or letting out at the Tacoma dome. We suggest you plan a time to go when you are not competing with a Tacoma Dome event. The gift shop is large, fairly priced and has some interesting items. We didn’t have much interaction with staff but found them to be very helpful when needed. My husband is a Microsoft employee and they have an employee discount. Also for State Farm employees and customers. We did not try the cafe so cannot comment on that. We did eat lunch at Duke's which is only a 10 minute drive and is on the water. It was great and highly recommended should you want a meal before or after your museum visit.

Ample parking on site so don't park nearby thinking you won't find parking. There is a charge for parking but it is reasonable for the location. Car displays were great and myself and a friend had a great time viewing all the cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc.. When we were ready to go we decided to try the restaurant upstairs. Bad idea. Very disorganized. Appears to have poor management in this area. Menu items seem pricey and very limited. Tables not being wiped down and some kind of hold up with customers that already ordered. Someone said they were out of hamburger so that was no longer a menu choice. After waiting for 45 minutes to order we left and drove to a nearby Red Robin for lunch.

We took my father for Fathers Day. I had concerns as he has difficulty walking. I even rented a wheel chair. The layout made it easy for him to get around. He chose to not use the chair at all. My father is a car buff I new he would love it but I wasn't sure about my wife and kids. Everybody had a grand time. They already are prepared and have it set up for all ages and genders. History, fashion, fun, games and photo ops. Well worth the trip.

Tee museum is about cars - and there are a lot of them. Beautifully arranged, it was even fun for someone who can usually just say - it was red, or a station wagon, or something else very basic. Three generations went together, and everyone enjoyed it.

This museum is a must see! There is every imaginable vehicle there complete with it's history. It is interesting to both car enthusiasts and history enthusiasts. It is a very large display, so be sure to wear your walking shoes. It was fun seeing cars that brought so many memories flooding back from my youth.

We went to partipate in a British car show. We got to see so many vintage cars! A great place to visit if you love vintage cars.

Great displays of autos from the entire history -- they routinely bring in exhibits for a single type of vehicle -- currently F-series pickups -- previously it was Mustangs, VW's, Race Cars, etc

Just went for the first time this past weekend. I can hardly believe we have such amazing museums in our backyard. Beautiful cars, great info about the era's and history of cars, spectacular view of the city of Tacoma, easy location just off the freeway with lots of great restaurants in the downtown area to choose from.

Worth the trip if you like cars. I enjoyed it and so did the wife. There are even some activities for the kids.

Hundreds of cars from every era to peruse at your leisure in a huge, open museum with 4 floors. There's even a cafe, run by the Pacific Grill.Activities as well, bring the kids!

18 bucks per adult and 5 bucks to park in their lot. And you have to pay it or "find parking in town" and walk. Nice cars but everything is way overpriced.

We really enjoyed spending about 1.5 hours ogling the old cars. Really a very pleasant visit. It is easy to walk without getting exhausted and the staff really love what they do.

Took a friends son to check out the museum. Very cool cars from many different era's. We had a good time. About 3 levels to walk and look
