My husband and I had a relaxing week here. The unit 36B was in excellent condition, clean and new pots and pans in the kitchen. We will be going back next November with a very special couple who just purchased a timeshare after visiting with us.

This place is terrible. We booked at the last minute and thought we could brave the other reviews. There are cockroaches and ants in the rooms. Appliances are very outdated. The units do not come with a washer and dryer. Floors/ carpets are dirty. Units do not come with a vacuum either. They give you a dust pan and a long broom. Overall, the only thing good about this "resort" is the outdoor pool, which is not even located on the premises.

I have been coming this resort for longer than I'd like to admit. I have seen go from a very desirable resort to a nightmare. During our last visit there were ants in the downstairs bedrooms! Once personnel was notified the came and sprayed regular bug spray in the rooms and left it for us to use later. We were told there were no other units available. The next night the ants were back with revenge. They were all over the beds! We were then moved to a unit that was previously "unavailable" . This is ridiculous! The refrigerator kept the food luke warm to say the least. The sheets on the sofa bed were used. There is always an issue every trip. We meet here because this is the only place that all off our family can get together! Please improve, if possible, if not then sell to someone who can afford and care enough to keep the condos and grounds somewhat pleasant.

We traded a weeks stay at a Wyndham Resort anywhere in the world for this cesspool. First of all the stairs to the front door require the skill of an expert hiker. Upon the decent, the foul stench of raw sewage smacks you in the face. The horrid odor can be overlooked momentarily, until you hear the sound of cascading water from the bedroom balcony, and me being the inquisitive nature lover, soon begin to realize upon closer inspection, that the sound of trickling water is raw sewage being ejected from broken pipes below your balcony!

First, let me state we are owners of timeshare at another location of the company that owns this one and we traded our week to get to this location. First comparing the condos to the one we have at our normal location in the Poconos of PA, the floor plan is the same and each unit sleep up to 6, but more comfortable with 4. The furnishings and interiors were in great shape. The resort is located in an area of SC that really does not have much nearby and that could be the reason for some of the negative ratings. If you want to be close to major 'brand name' stores this is not the place for you. If you want to get away from the 'rat race' this is the place for you. They had internet available at the clubhouse but not in the units, but we were told they are upgrading the system to have it in the units soon. (Did not bother us, we needed a break from being connected to the world, BTW we were a family of 4, 2 adults in our late 30's, a teenager and a 10 yo.) The clubhouse had plenty to do with a pool table and many other games. There is even a snack-bar located in the clubhouse. The indoor pool at this location was in good shape and also hat a nice relaxing hot tub. The staff was very friendly and easy to work with.As for the outside of these units, you have to remember this villa is located in the mountains of the SC and there are going to be natural wear and tear for this environment. The unit and the units around us all had a little wear and tear, but none of them appeared or felt like things were unsafe. There was fog on every morning during our visit so we are sure there is plenty of moisture in the area that will show on the exterior of the buildings. When you visit you also have access to the large clubhouse that is part of the development of Foxwood, this clubhouse is best described as your classic country club. They has a great outdoor pool, tennis courts and basketball. There was also a pub at this location looked pretty up to date. We did not get a chance to eat here as we cooked most of our food in our unit.As for the area, you can see that this Villa was part of a much bigger project that never got completed. The area is surrounded with developments that have all the roads in place but building lots that have not been built yet. If the economy of the area comes back I am sure home will be built in the area soon. While we were in the area we took advantage of the many hiking trails and waterfalls in the area. Many of them are worth the hike. You are also very close to a large national park that has plenty of trails for the serious hiker. We did not partake but there are also a ton water features in the area for boating, whitewater and fishing.Overall we had a good time and things were fine at this location. Again if you are expecting a Holiday Inn or a Hilton, this is not what this place is about, move on......

First things first.... I have read the reviews on this place and I DO NOT AGREE WITH MOST OF THEM......I have stayed here at Foxwood Hills several times and I must say they have some of the nicest people working there that you will find. Brian and Sabrina will go out of their way to accommodate your needs if at all possible. Even when things go wrong they make it right and always make you feel welcome. With that being said here is my review of the place. The property is a older place but they do strive to keep it up and maintained. The first thing you must know is it is not a place at the beach or in a major metropolitan area. It is secluded in the woods so it provides a great peaceful place to relax and recharge. They do have Wi-Fi internet at the office but not in the rooms(Remember you are in the country). There are numerous waterfalls and hiking trails within a short drive of the resort. There is a heated indoor pool which is great for cooler weather. If you want to leave and spend the day shopping the outlet malls they are about 45 minutes away. In the summer you are a short drive from the lake where you can fish and you can even buy your license at the resort. They also have access to a olympic size outdoor pool at the property owners office for their guests to use. There is a nice small 9 hole golf course about a mile away and others close by to play if you like.I guess what I am trying to say is if you want all the fru-fru and the frills of being in a major area you need to go stay there. But if you want a nice quiet place nestled in the woods for so quality family time or to rest and relax you need to go see these folks. And if you want to stay longer they also have great rental rates for a few extra days. We stay there when we want to go see a Clemson Football game.

We recently spent a week in this resort which was booked through RCI. Prior to going I accidentally came across reviews while researching the location of the washer and dryer in this resort. I use the term resort loosely!! Most of the reviews were negative, but it helped us to not have high expectations. I will start with the few staff members we came in contact with were very friendly. Well, they need to be because this place has not much else going for it. The place is very dated, but that really was not an issue for us. What was an issue is the many years of neglect and lack of pride the management has in this property. When you open the door the first thing you smell is mildew. The garbage disposal smelled like rotten food in it which we never could get out. You should not have to buy cleaning items to clean when going to a resort for vacation. The refrigerator stayed cool never cold. We actually put things in the freezer to keep them cold. Example milk- which never did freeze. It kept it cold like the refrigerator should have. We were there the first week of July (2013). I am thankful it rained the entire time because the air condition did not function properly and the temperature outside was probably cooler than usual. The downstairs was okay, but upstairs was HOT!! Getting dressed after a shower to go out was terrible. You felt just a unclean after the shower as before. The sponge in the kitchen that was supplied by the resort was obviously used and placed in a ziplock bag to be reused by the next guest . Shame on them. I will also add that this was the second unit we were in because the first unit's air condition went out, and we had to move. We own timeshares and stayed in many resorts. This is by far the worst I have ever seen. The property grounds are nothing to be desired. In other words, this is not a resort where you would want to hang out for the day to enjoy your surroundings. JK

Foxwood Hills Villas/Kingston Manor in Westminster, S.C. is your worst nightmare for a vacation or even an overnight stay. My parents have owned their timeshare there for 27 years and in the past I have stayed there about 3 times over the 27 years but this year was my last. We arrived last night at 1:30 a.m. and when we opened the door to the unit, this God awful musty, dirty, moldy smell smacked me right in the face. Within 15 minutes, I had a migraine and felt very nausea. This place makes Motel 6 look like the Hilton. The unit was so nasty that we did not even sleep in bed, and did not use the shower, and against our better judgement had to use the toilet because where else would we go at that time of night. We documented our 6 hour stay with tons of photos, written documentation of everything we saw and found that would make even the strongest stomach want to vomit. There is so many safety hazards and inspection violations. The foundations are cracking and coming apart; the retaining walls are coming apart all over the resort; the pavement is a joke because it is cracked and coming apart all over the resort; there is no upkeep to the grounds whatsoever; there are 114 units on the property and not one single unit would I consider safe or up to date; the units are very out dated; old carpet; old cabinets falling apart; appliances that are most all original which is over 20 years old; blankets that have stains on them; smell like urine or feces (see photo); bed mites; mold throughout the unit; stains throughout the unit on the walls and furniture; toilet seats that have had so much urine splashed on them, that it looks like the toilet seats and covers have the mumps or mescals (see photo); shower heads that have at least ½ inch of grown mold covering them (see photo); ceiling fans and air vents falling off the ceilings (see photo); the outside of the units are in need of urgent repairs; have several large holes; falling down boards (see photos); board rot; exposed sewerage lines (see photo); over grown bushes (see photo); concrete breakage throughout the property on the sidewalks and pavement areas (see photos); unsafe parking conditions; for our unit had at least 5 feet deep and 2 feet high of empty space under the pavement that if a heavy truck was to park in the space it would give away and the vehicle would roll into the ravine behind it (see photo). Then a rotten 4x4 board holding up the side of a 2 story deck that is also leaning and could give away at anytime. Pillows that are mold on them and holes in the pillow (see photo). Doors that go into the unit the paint is peeling so bad off the door itself (see photo). The flooring in the unit was very shaking when you walked on it as if you were going to fall through the floor at any moment. Mold inside the refrigerator and dish washer; at least 2 inches of dust on the mini blinds and ceiling fan; There are just too many things to list but we took over 200 photos of our unit and the adjoining units to show the condition of this resort and would be happy to share them with anyone wanting to see them. We were suppose to be staying through the weekend but checked out 6 hours only after we checked in and could not wait to get back home to take a shower and change our clothes. In our opinion an animal shelter or prison or jail is in better condition than this resort. The resort made their current timeshare owners pay an $80.00 assessment in addition to the $430.00 annual dues this year (2012) for what was suppose to be to make repairs to the property; We seen no repairs that have been made or even look like there being made; All we saw was a nasty and out dated resort that looks like a ghost town and should be torn down. If anything this resort should pay others to stay there. I would never recommend this resort to my worst enemy. If you should decide to forgo these warnings I am giving you then don’t say you were not warned when you go and find out for yourself. It is my intention to notify the building inspectors in this county where the resort is located and notify someone on a higher level in the state capital or government; No one should have to be put through what we went through for these 6 hours; My dogs live and sleep better than this place; No wonder so many timeshare owners are just giving back their weeks and this resort is going bankrupt. Perhaps the employees that work there are using the funds for their own personal use and gain, because no funds paid by the members of this resort are being put to use to up date the resort and make it more safe to visit. NEVER STAY AT THIS RESORT UNLESS YOU LIKE NASTY, FILTHY, MOLDY, LIVING CONDITIONS and UNSAFE LIVING CONDITIONS AT THAT!!

This property along with Kinston Manor is run by the same management. The property is VERY OLD. The only good thing about this property is the community pool and club house located about 1+ miles away which is owned by the community association of Foxwood Hills.Lots of water related damage. Tree stumps not ground down. Tree roots abouve ground. Driveways not maintained cracked. Retention walls leaning. Lots of errosion. Signs throughout the property deteriorating and not maintained. The damage appears not to have taken place recently, but due to years of neglect. There are sign on the sight that states security on site; however, we did not see any signs of security. Also, the office hours are from 10A - 8P. They provide a long list of phone numbers in the event of an emergency. Also there is no Wi-Fi internet access in the units. After hours they recommend you use the laundry room or be near the office building. The inside of the unit smelled of mildew, if you have allergies this is not the place for you. Old outdated wallpaper and furnishings. Many of the oven pans were rusted. The cooling of the unit was uneven. Warm upstairs very cold downstairs. Probably due to the location of the thermostat. Only a 38 gallon water heater, may provide enough hot water for 6 adults, maybe. The air handler did not have a filter and was very dirty; again if you have allergies you may want to stay elsewhere. No screen on windows or doorsIndoor pool, wading pool, and Jacuzzi is filthy, looks like mildew on the bottom of each.Items in the onsite clothing store for sale look like they are consignment items or items left in the room they are trying to sell. All looks used and out dated, like the facilities.Access to many units not handicap friendly. Units and property roads are not child, handicaped, physically challenged, or wheel chair friendly If you read this prior to the end of this June 2012 you will be able to purchase a time-share week at a discounted rate

This place was so peaceful! Not many people there, and the staff was exceptionally nice. We had our 3 year old granddaughter with us and she loved the playground which was just across the parking lot from us. The unit was old, but everything worked and we visited area waterfalls, Cabbage Patch Hospital and mostly just rested. It was a very nice getaway for us!

Stayed in Kingston Manor @ Foxwood. PROS: Clean, Quiet, large enough condos, enjoyable large upstairs deck and lower patio, TV in living room and bedrooms a plus. CONS: The Condo is old, very out of date (carpet from the 70's), Microwave from the 60's but it worked, just simply worn out. The back deck was a nice place to sit and enjoy the mornings and evenings, but the deck floor and divider walls are in great need of repair. Must ware shoes to walk on deck floor has splinters bad, black mold on outside divider walls - not cool. We booked for a week, stayed 2 nights and moved on (took a 5 day loss). The lady at the front desk commented that 3 other couples left early too. Would I stay again? If in that area again - Yes, I know what to expect so I won't be disapointed. I hope they repair the decks.

Best thing was the central location - an hour's trip will take you to some of the best places to visit in the Southeast. If you like white water rafting, hiking, waterfalls, golf, fall colors - it's all close by. Wal-Mart is about 20 min. away. That said, this is just another aging time share property. Our unit was OK - roomy, clean, carpet and furniture were good. They actually had a comfortable chair and ottoman - good for reading. Hardly any place has that! Deck needed work. Stair rails were dirty and needed painting. Kitchen was roomy and well-equipped but I don't vacation so I can cook! Staff was helpful. Outdoor pool is a few miles up the road but a real beauty - largest in the state. Indoor pool on-site was closed by DHEC the day we arrived - but open the next day. Machines in the work out room didn't work very well. Not much to do on site. The club house had games, books etc but not many activities. We were there in August - not the best time to visit - hot weather and the water falls didn't have much water. But it's peaceful and quiet and we'd go again, especially in spring or fall.
