eagle river golf course

Twelve of us played 36 holes Saturday the 6th of September at Eagle River. I would rate the golf very good because its a fun track and no issues. The greens still had signs of the tough winter but this sort of thing happened all over the north including whistling straights, and timberstone. If I could only rate the bar/restarant it would be poor. The bartender was truely annoyed he had to deal with a large group of people ordering lunch and drinks in between our rounds of golf and even at the turns. I heard serious complaints from everyone and also experienced the same bad attitude. If you don't enjoy assisting people you may want to re-think the service industry as a career path. Our guys are the biggest tippers I know so it just comes down to the wrong person in that position. It's unfortunate because the food was fine but the one guy ruined it. Hopefully they find a replacement next fall.

Every year I host a competitive family golf outing while we are on vacation. This time we had 18 players including several youth players. Based on the hard winter I called ahead to make sure the course was in good shape and was told it was, so I booked my 5 foursomes. When we arrived I was informed that several of the greens were in terrible shape. They not only did not offer any discounts they also charged the youths full price (vs. other courses that do discount youth play). Even though it is more convenient and have played here in the past we will not return as the course and the pricing are not worth the high greens fees. We will move our rounds to the St. Germain Golf Club.
