If you have time, the Milwaukee Public Market is a good place to stop as there is a lot of variety. However, I wouldn't go out of my way to make another trip. It doesn't hold up to other public markets I have been to.

Well, it wasn't at the top of my list, but my views on public markets have really evolved. We just love walking into this place, with all its different smells, foods, wares. You can just order something and grab a table or if the weather is good, outside. We always try to hit a public market now whenever we're in a different town.

Have to visit and browse all of the wonderful vendors. Stop in at Oro Di Oliva and Spice House for something new and don't forget to grab a coffee Anodyne.

I thought this would be a nice place to go to pick up some fresh food with my family. We went midday Saturday and ended up walking around one time without seeing much since it was do crowded. I do not recommend this place on the weekends with family.

I work in the area of the Public Market and I head there often on my lunch hour. The options for food there are great - my favorite is the Green Kitchen located kind of in the middle. They offer all kinds of salads, wraps, and paninis. You receive a huge portion for the price which is nice. The only time I avoid the Public Market is on a holiday or weekends because then it's too busy to even walk in there.

This is a nice place to spend some time, even if it's cold outside. It is an indoor market with lots of food vendors. Some of them have a small seating area if you order food to eat there. There is a 2nd level with seating and another restaurant. We stopped for coffee, enjoyed it at their counter, then proceeded to walk around the place. As we walked around, I appreciated that the vendors asked if I needed help, but I didn't feel like I was being attacked. I was able to buy a couple hostess gifts for the Christmas season. For shopping, I liked the cheese and sausage place, and the Spice House. The Thief Wine Bar advertises that you can order from their menu, or even bring food from another vendor, and enjoy a glass of their wine at their bar or seating area. We found pay-for street parking, max 2 hours, with no trouble. But we didn't know about a parking lot on Water St. that the Market will validate for first hour free. I would go back, even with a group. With all these options, everyone can get something to eat that they like.

We stopped at the Milwaukee Public Market before hitting the road to Des Moines in search of food we could take with us to eat at a rest stop along the way (we knew there would not be many restaurant options). The market can be very crowded and noisy but we headed to The Green Kitchen and purchased a sandwich and a wrap plus a fresh squeezed juice. As a vegetarian, I appreciated choices and the fresh juice was delicious. We stopped about four hours later to eat our lunch and the sandwich and wrap were both every bit as tasty as if we had just ordered them (we asked for condiments on the side so they would not get soggy). Definitely better than stopping at a fast food restaurant!

There is one hour free parking and unless you are planning on staying to enjoy a meal, one hour will be enough. We walked through the place and visited some of the shops for cheese and coffee. The bars started happy hour around 4 and we were a bit early so didn't have anything to drink other then the coffee. The people are quite friendly, we had a quick hummus and cracker snack that was tasty and planned to come back for the $13.95 lobster dinner!!! at St. Paul's Fish market.

Nice indoor market..has a variety of items...my favorite was the coffee counter and margaritas at margarita paradise...they also have a Wisconsin store inside..which is a great place to find a unique Wisconsin gift...you can make your visit 10 minutes or linger just looking at all the goodies...

Nice indoor market consisting of many food oriented businesses. One hour free parking in lot behind the market if you buy anything. St. Paul's is best place to eat here. There is a lot to offer visiting here when you are on the area.

This is a great place to visit for eats, drinks and authentic Wisconsin goodies to take home and enjoy yourself or share with others. There's a wide variety of foods and cultures all under one roof. Definite stop!

This is a neat place to go visit, lots of variety, you can get unique gifts and souvenirs, and try all kinds of food and treats. The big sugar cookies are so good and the margaritas are tasty. Definitely worth a walk through!!

I was in Wisconsin on a search of cheese curds and my hotel suggested I visit Public Market, right down the street from the Pfister Hotel. We parked on the street (for a fee) entered and I found cheese curds and more. It opens on the weekdays at 10 a.m. I read after you could get your first hour of parking free in an adjacent lot on Water street if you got it validated or purchased something at the Public Market, but we didn't know. It was a warm and cozy market, with all kinds of produce, meats, seafood, olive oils, cheeses, wine and prepared food. This worked perfectly as we had decided to pack a picnic for our lunch. We grabbed a brat special on a mustard bun with carmelized onions (yum), a bottle of wine, some apples and cheese. I also find the cheese curds I'd been in search of and got a hot pepper (dried) for my son. There were plenty of Wisconsin specialties available for purchase. Although we didn't go upstairs, apparently there are sit-down places to eat up there. A fun place to while away some time and soak in the local flavor with the different vendors.

I love public markets and I loved this one. Great products and prices, but unfortunately I can't get the famous Wisconsin's cheese (Brazilian customs law). My only complain is too few Wisconsin craft beers there. But it doesn't downgrade the place. Easily worth the visit.
