I arrived just before 4pm on Sat. They stayed open and welcomed me like family. Very detailed and large exhibits. A must see!

A wonderful gentlemen named Kenny personally shared the rich Czech heritage with us. We had a great afternoon, learned a lot, and got some awesome restaurant recommendations.

My husband is Czech and we were excited to go here. It is a very interesting museum and has lots of information especially about the central Texas area. My husband even had some friends and family represented in the museum. The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. If you are interested in history of Czechs and/or the Central Texas area, you will love it! They also have a very full library to research family information. We are excited to go back and make use of that.

Guides are great - particularly enjoyed Frankie. Though some items are fragile and only handled by staff, others are ok to hold or demonstrate. A lot of history in a small space with an antique-store feel.

My husband and I spend a couple of hours at the Czech Heritage Museum. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The tour guide was outstanding and most enthused about the museum. His comments were personal and informative. Time well spent.

This is one of the most overlooked jewels in Temple. In the late 1800's this area saw a major influx of people, mostly farmers, from the Czech area of Europe. They were drawn here by the availability of really good farmland. They formed the SPJST a fraternal type organization , which runs the museum today. Over the years the museum has received donations of items relating to the Czech people that settled here. It is an eclectic assortment of items from old world combined with items from the turn of the century and into the 1930s, handicrafts, and miscellaneous. One item that never fails to fascinate me is the collection of pencils, it consist of hundreds if not thousands of pencils of all shapes and colors, why? someone liked pencils.

We stopped in Temple on our way up I-35. I am of Czech descent so I thought this would be interesting. After visiting the museum I can recommend it to anyone who is interested in European/Texas/American history. Very nice small museum. There was a tour guide who led us through the entire museum and explained all the artifacts. He was extremely informative and very willing to answer our kids questions. We visited on a Saturday, so I don't know if they have guides available at all times, so you might call and check before you go. Even without a guide the items are well-labeled and laid out nicely so a tour guide is not a necessity but was a huge bonus.

At the time we visited it was located in the basement of the SPJST, I'm not sure if it has moved since then, but I took 5th graders there and they really enjoyed it. Lots of great items and ties to the community.

We had to stop as I'm fascinated with real world history exhibits. To be close to the item that once a person coveted, and probably never thought in the future this will be in a museum after my time has come. The curator's are very nice, and the stories are so vivid. To touch an item that today is considered old, but for the people the memories are always new.

I took many pictures. The museum is well arranged, clean, and every nook and corner was worthy of close and long study. Many items bringing back old memories of my life in the 20's and 30's. I'm 87 years old. The personel were so kind and willing to explain in detail any questions that my wife Gwennie and I asked. The "cell" phone explaination was very amazing and amusing! Thank you!
