TSC is one of the most creative and resourceful theatre companies around. Some of their Shakespearean productions are updated for the 21st century, some are performed in gardens, some in churches and some aren't even Shakespeare! (such as the radio play "It's a Wonderful Life" or Tennessee Williams' "The Glass Menagerie."Trying to classify TSC is like trying to catch mercury. Impossible to do, but impossible to resist. Pick a production, any production, and you'll be treated to wonderful entertainment.

We've gone to 1 or 2 plays a year since they started and have never been disappointed. Occasional outdoor settings are wonderful, and the acting always superb.

Tennessee Shakespeare Company's performances always have an element of magic lacking in most other local companies. Some people might think that they aren't interested in Shakespeare, but trust me - these performances are for everyone. I took my friend (who has little interest in theater and even less in Shakespeare) to see Macbeth a couple of seasons ago, and she loved it. We had a blast at Shelby Farms (bring a blanket!)Shows are at cool local icons like Shelby Farms and the Dixon, places I never think to go until I get to the performance and think that it's so great Memphis has these areas.I always look forward to getting back to Memphis, and look to see what's showing at TSC. Worth every penny. The talent is wonderful, and just what the South needs.
