haw ridge park

Paved, wide walkway, great for walkers, runners, bikes. Nice view along the river, well maintained, mostly level.

We went for a walk and tried using their map, but it was pretty difficult to follow it.Also, it get pretty busy because of the many bikers.

We love haw ridge and bike there at least a couple times a week. The paved trail from haw ridge to elza gate and back is a perfect anytime ride!

We go to Haw Ridge all the time to mtn. bike, hike, or kayak, but the only complaint I have is that they need to put in real bathrooms. Port-a-johns are OK for a temporary situation, but this park has been around long enough and is large enough for a real bathroom. The trails are real nice, paved and gravel in the woods. There is a great spot to put in a kayak and to get out of one as well. I feel safe there, and it is well-kept up.

This park is great for any different activity level, if you just want a nice stroll on a paved path this has it. If you want to do some easy walking through the woods you can, as well as some fairly challenging trails. Along part of the trail by the river there are some picnic tables. Just a great place near Oak Ridge for everyone to enjoy the outdoors.
