This is one of my favorite farms in the area and when it's not prime-time (apple or pumpkin picking), it's peaceful and relaxing -- and the views are phenomenal. I even joined their CSA one year and enjoyed fresh weekly milk. A small shop offers fresh produce and baked goods.

A wonderful place to go with the entire family. Once, and still owned by the Morganthal family ... the once Secretary of the Treasury under President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and then the long serving District Attorney of New York, this is a farm where the envirnment comes first. Wholesome food delights and inseason pick-your own fruits and veggies. The fall colors are ablaze in September and October.

Best in the Hudson Valley for Apple Picking. A little expensive to drive your car in but understandable.

The drive from the city to the farm is so pretty in the fall. My only wish was that we went earlier in the season to take in the fall foliage. As it was late in the season most trees were at peak and past peak but it was still an awesome sight. Now going to the farm on the last weekend for apple picking did have some advantages. The farm was not nearly as crowded as i expected after reading various reviews. We got there just after the farm opened though so that may also be part of the reason that there was no crowd. It started to pick up after a while though. The only type of apple available to be picked was the Golden Delicious but there were plenty other varieties available in the bins. The staff were super helpful, pointed out the trees and told us we could drive all the way up to the trees if we wanted. I'm really sorry the pig roast wasn't finished by the time we were ready to leave but we tried the jerk chicken. Great portion size but for a farm that has some jamaicans working on it...that was not real jerk chicken...try again. The apple cider, however, was really good...the best i have ever had. The donuts were ok not as crazy good as i was expecting but not terrible either. All in all, a good experience would love to visit again.

We visited Fishkill Farms the Saturday after Columbus Day for the "pick your own apples" experience. There were only 2 variety of apples available. We have been going here for years, this was the first disappointing visit. As we pulled in, we were charged $5 a car just to enter, the price of the apples also went up to $30 a bag. I don't think I would have minded the price increase if improvements have been made since last year, but they hadn't. We felt nickeled and dimmed-which is OK if the experience warranted it. It did not!Management seriously needs to assess the crowd control issues and determine if more staffing and cash registers would help! From our observations - it would!!The car line to pay for the apples that you picked went on for ever. There were only 2 cashiers available at this point on the property, so the best thing to do is get on the line with your car and send the occupants out to go stand on the extremely long lines for the Farm House (produce, pies, canned soda, coffee and water etc.) and the concession areas. Again, the line to pay in the Farm House went up and down all the aisles, with only 2 cashiers. We considered buying some produce but decided against it when we witnessed children handling the vegetables and throwing potatoes to each other, the parents could not see this because the crowd was so deep. It was difficult to move through this area to select items to purchase because all the people waiting to pay took up all the space. Outside there were 2 really really long lines. One for hot donuts, which were great. We waited on the donut line which crawled at best but they were very good! Only one cashier at the donut line, which clearly could of used more. My guess is that they need another Frier to cook more donuts to keep up with the crowd! You cannot get anything other than donuts at this line which is not communicated until you want to pay. So if you want water or coffee you have to get on the line in the farm house where you will wait for 30+ minutes. The other line is for a Grill area which serves hotdogs, grilled corn, burgers etc., this line wrapped around as far back as the car line to pay for apples! Yikes! We did not wait for anything there, they folks on line did not look happy at all! There are Port-A-Potties for you convenience and some, but not enough, picnic tables around the property. There is signage to facilitate your experience, but if you miss these small and sometimes confusing signs, there is not anyone to help with crowd control or assistance. The staff is made up of mostly students who seem to be cranky and overwhelmed by the crowds. One staff person told us that we should be so glad we weren't here on Columbus Day because if we thought that our day was crazy, you couldn't even move about that day!!!Fishkill Farms needs to raise to the occasion and staff the experience adequately, so it's visitors don't walk away with a sour taste in their mouths. It seems like they have gotten too big without the ability to handle the business. It's a shame because there is a lot of potential to having a great balance of happy customers and profits! But they have not figured this out yet! My suggestions is to either get there before 10am, or stay away. Pack your own lunch or drive to somewhere nearby and have a bite to eat! On the bright side-the view of the foliage is spectacular!

This is my favorite place for pumpkin and apple picking - not only b/c the apples are organic, the trees are abundant, and the pumpkins are on the vines like when I was a little girl. Also, this place has a farms market with fresh pies, farm eggs, music, beautiful views, and last but not least the world’s most amazing apple cider donuts! IT'S WORTH IT TO JUST BUY THE BOX!!!!!*Beware* If you pull your car all the way into the orchard it will take you 45 mins or more to pull out. My best suggestion is leave the car as close to the top as possible and walk through the orchard, or take the hayride in.

Fishkill farms is primarily an apple orchard but depending on the season you can also pick your own berries, pears, vegetables and pumpkins. The orchard is large but it's layout is open and on a hill so you are unlikely to get lost (like we did at another orchard). You are given a helpful map of the orchard upon entry with the location of the different varieties of apple trees and which ones are in season and available. You are given a large mesh bag for your apples and if you fill it up it is a flat rate (when we went the flat rate was $30 and the bag fit over 20 lbs of apples) otherwise you pay by the pound. The front trees were a bit depleted when we went on 10-11-14 but walk back to the back trees and you'll find plenty of apples. The pumpkin selection is plenty and they are set out in a patch which is fun. The farm market has a large selection of meats, flowers, pies and of course fresh cider doughnuts! Yum.

What a great place to see fall foliage & go apple picking. Not too far from NYC which is convenient. Staff is very friendly.

Went apple picking in the rain yesterday morning. Had the place to ourselves. Tons of delicious apples to choose from. Looks like the pumpkin spot was well-stocked. The people are nice. Much nicer experience to not be run over by the crowds, even it meant getting a little wet. Definitely a nice place to visit for your apple picking needs.

Came here to witness my friends wedding and can honestly say he made a great choice. The surroundings were picturesque and the whole evening was fantastic.

Fishkill Farms has a beautiful setting and amazingly huge orchards. What they lack big time is management skills and customer care..... when you have only 3 gatekeeps checking you out fora gizillion patrons it's maddening!!! They charge you to get in....another sore spot. When youare buying goods and services from a vendor, WHY DO They have to charge EVERY car to get in?? Nothing about this place is run efficiently. We left to go elsewhere to buy cider donuts. They lose. We left to buy veggies elsewhere. They lose. Won't come back next year unless this place does a 360 in Trip reviews. An apple picker would have helped.....where were theyhiding!!!! Bye bye Fishkill Farms

Great Apple Orchard for Outdoor people. Bring your workboots, you will be tromping through the fields! The really neat thing about this Orchard is you can literally "Drive through it" It's like the difference between a drive through car wash and one you have to get out at. You don't need a truck, your car is fine, although I wouldn't recommend your Sunday sportscar. The apples are huge and delicious. They also have the typical pumpkins, donuts and Large Farm Market. Small animal petting area and live music on the weekends make this a great place for couples and families with young children. As a local resident I usually come here once a year.

I went here just to take a ride with my Cousin and I fell in love with the farm. The farm is big and you can eat hot food or get fruit and vegetables at the store. They also have fresh baked pies, donuts and other cookies you can buy there to. I will be going back here in October for apple and pumpkin picking. I look forward to taking my Son here for the experience.

I have been going there as a tradition. They use to have more attractions and better prices. The apples are the best. I don't buy from the market cause their product are cheaper at the market. I get the apples peaches and pumpkins every year. My kids love it. I see myself there every year.
