Its fairly inexpensive to go in and it is located right next to the SmokeHole Cabins office so easy to get in. Its an interesting hour to spend and its pretty impressive inside

The cave tour was very nice. The tour guide was very polite and engaging with the group. Plenty of information about the cave and the formations. If you like checking out different caves it's worth a stop. The tour cost $15 for adults and lasted about 45 minutes. Wear shoes with good tread, the ground is pretty wet all over and can be slick in spots.

This tour was more expensive than the Seneca Rocks Cavern and it is a much shorter tour. The tour guide was great and she did an nice job explaining everything. The Caverns are very pretty and the fish swimming around in the one section was nice. The young boy in our group got to feed them. Very nice tour.

This cave is full of history and our guide was very good. From the indian legends to the moonshiners. The cave has many interesting formations and the gift shop is huge and not the average cave shop.

The store is awesome and well worth the stop. Nice rustic log cabin. Clean, nice bathrooms. Burgers, Hot Dogs and snacks available. The cavern tour is $15 per person and was beautiful and very interesting. Our guide, Katlin, is a cute blond, was very nice and shared a lot of information. We are from the South but really enjoyed Kaitlin's WV country accent.

Our busload of senior citizens stopped here for lunch and a cave tour. I wasn't expecting much in the way of food, but was pleasantly surorised. The potato and tomato basil soups and the ham and chicken salad sandwiches they served us were obviously homemade and very tasty. I've done a few tours in commercially operated caves and all seem to have one thing in common -- bad joles. This was no exception, but the young guy and gal doing it were both cute and enthusiastic and knew their script

Well, I can only rate the gift shop. It's beautiful! A first class attraction in the middle of no where. The Tirmber Frame building reminds you of a Bass Pro Shop or Cabels! Lots of beautiful mounted trophy's, deer, elk, sheep, white tails.............The lunch counter looked like it was serving good food at affordable prices.

I took my nephew, who is 10, through here in August of 2014. I had been through it previously. He enjoyed it and said it was not what he had expected. It was a good learning experience for him also. Unfortunately for us, we were in what they said was the largest group of the day. I would say we had forty or fifty people, including a couple of unhappy little children, which made it difficult to hear the guide at times. It also made the tour a little longer since it took some time to get everybody in a position to see and hear. If you don't mind the "corny" j scripted jokes, it is a nice attraction. We did not purchase anything at the large gift shop or snack bar. Being Labor Day weekend it was very busy and the check-out lines were rather long.

The Smoke Hole Caverns are located right off of the main road and are easy to find. The tour through the caverns lasted about 45 minutes. For those in our group that did not want to go on the tour they were able to go shopping in the large two story gift shop. We also let my son pan for gemstones at their gemstone mining facility. He thought that was the best part.

This is a fun cavern to go to. It is entertaining for all ages. Tours happen every 1/2 hour, so we didn't have long to wait. It is amazing to see all the damage we have done as humans to this beautiful natural wonder. There are some awesome natural formations, but there is a lot of man-made material in the cave too. We had fun and the guide did a great job, especially with the kids in the group. If you are in the area it is something to do and it is just down the road from Seneca Rocks. The gift shop was huge and fun to browse also.

My wife and I did the tour in August. There wasn't a lot of water due to the lack of recent rain, but the tour was nice...about 45-50 minutes...not too small but not large enough to make this a destination location. Felt it was priced right and good for kids who are interested in caves. Young children may not find it engaging enough for the time they would be occupied.

I loved reading how a cave that was little more than a groundhog hole with a spring flowing out of it was supposedly used by Native Americans and Civil War soldiers prior to being dug out for the water in the droughts of the 1920s by the Ours family and their relatives. The information given here is for the real Smoke Hole, carved out by the South Branch of the North Fork of the Potomac, which lies on the opposite side of North Fork Mountain. What you know as "Smoke Hole" Caverns is actually located in Hopeville Gorge, and the stories they tell about Civil War soldiers and Indians have been-er- "borrowed" from the rich history of the REAL Smoke Hole by commercial interests just trying to make a buck. Whoops!

A very nice attraction. Cave isn't anywhere near the largest, but it does have the 2nd tallest room in a cave east of the Mississippi. Cave guide was entertaining. Gift shop is really nice. Cabins look great.
