If you are interested in early aviation, this would be a good place to visit. Glenn L. Martin was an American aviation pioneer. There are countless photographs of those early days. As you look at them you will notice some very famous people in history. There are many models of those early aircrafts. The museum progresses into more modern times. There is a large section of this tiny museum dedicated to the part Glenn L, Martin's played during world war II. At one time, Martin's was the largest employer in the country. This entire section of Baltimore county was developed due to the efforts of Martin. The company provided housing. In addition, the company had its own sports teams, clubs, and even a band. After going through this room, we were led to another room next door. There were more models and photographs. I was drawn to one glass case where there is an astronaut's glove. Behind it was a poster with the autographs of some very well-known men from the space program--Neil Armstrong, Ed White, and Gus Grissom, just to name a few. The people who work here are volunteers. Volunteer Bernie offered to drive us out to the airstrip to see some actual aircraft. Not only did he drive us out, he could tell us everything and then some about each of the 13 planes and the one Viet Nam helicopter. There is a very cool F4-Phantom and a B-57. There is even an early passenger plane that once belonged to Glenn Martin. Bernie explained that once a month they sponsor "open cockpit day" when you can actually go into some of these planes. The museum also has a speaker series. Some of their speakers include former astronauts. This museum only costs $3 and there is free parking.

This is not your average aviation museum, with one part museum/gift shop. The a/c are stationed at a nearby runway. The museum/gift shop contain countless photos from Glenn's 1909 12 H.P. a/c up to the later 60's. The photos from the 'Early Years', 'Depression', 'Pre War Era', 'War Years', 'Post War Era', & 'Cold War Years'. No real a/c here, just a large number of glass cases containing model a/c from different eras. Richard, our guide, was very knowledgeable of Glenn's life, accomplishments & all a/c through the eras. The rear section is the 30's into the 40's. This time period include: Rosie the Riveter, a/c plants, Sporting leagues, Bond Scrap drives, employee recreation & housing, programs for children, & flight testing. After the museum tour Richard drives the group or has the tour group follow him in their vehicles to the private runway. Here are 14 a/c lined up outside which are:Huey 1960's helicopter.T-33 Jet Trainer.2 F-100 Super Sabres.RF-84 Thunderflash.T-34C Navy Trainer.AF Corsair 11 Attack Bomber.F-105 Thunderchief.RB-57 Canberra.B-57 Canberra Bomber.Douglas TA-4J Skyhawk.F4 1960's Phantom.McDonnell F-101B Voodoo.Martin 404 Skyliner Passenger a/c.Beech C-45 Twin Model 18.Transport a/c.If a visitor is looking for a Martin B-26 Marauder WW11 bomber, no such a/c exist, only in a large model form.I wouldn't say I was disappointed, just a little let down. However the museum itself is aviation history in a different form. I visited one air force museum with nothing but photos, words & uniforms, but the time spent was worth a visit. The admission is $3.00 or $4.00. Hours are Wednesday to Saturday, 11:00-3:00. I recommend a visit. Parking is free.Jack L., Syracuse, New York.

I love learning to fly with Bruce. He is very patiend andhelpful; he made me feel that I was totally capable of becoming an experienced pilot. Flying is so much fun and a great way to get around.I can fly from Middle Rover Aviation in Baltimore County, Maryland to Ocean City, Maryland in less thatn one hour. I don't have to wait in long lines to cross the Bay Bridge. When I fly home I see this long ribbon of red tail lights on the highway and I just pass them by without a care.

Jumped on a Living Social deal and finally used it today. Dave was a very good instructor. He was patient and answered all my questions. What a beautiful day for a first flight lesson too.

Girlfriend and I took their 1 hour flight introduction lesson. We bought our package through living social, so we got a great price. Our instructor Brad was great and thoroughly went over all aspects of the plane and our flight. Safety was his utmost concern. We were able to take off, bank left and right, as well as climb and descend, we did it all, expect land, which I prefer to leave to the pros! It was an amazing 1 hour! Would love to do it again!

Just recently I went to Middle River Aviation with a friend and took their intro flight lesson. What a thrill!!!! My instructor was Nick Pugh. what a fabulous day it was! Everyone was super friendly. Nick was wonderful.....friendly and yet professional!! We had a ball..I learned how to steer the plane with the pedals while taxiing on the runway; and it lifted up ever so smoothly!!!! What a thrill. there are two sets of instruments, so you are never left unattended while handling them. Safety is their foremost concern. I would do it again in a heartbeat!!! And, if it wasn't so expensive, I would definitely get my private pilot's license!!! I highly recommend this fun thing to do!!!!
