This is a compact medieval town not yet gentrified. All the major sights are easily walkable. The bibliotheca near the Museum of Evora is a little gem with many many old books and great ambiance.

You can be swept by the historical gems that dot this charming little city. It has so much to offer, Roman structures, medieval churches, gardens, plazas, interesting shops, lots of sidewalk cafes, narrow streets lined with great architecture and unusual shops. The visitors centre is quite helpful, provides info and maps.

Roman, Medieval, UNESCO Monument. There is really a lot of things to see in the walled city of Evora.

Anywhere you go in the city center is a nice place to see. Walking around you can discover the history of Évora by yourself.

We had a wonderful day exploring Evora - from Neolistic stones through Roman temples and medieval churches there is something for everyone to appreciate in this UNESCO World Heritage site. We sat in a large piazza and watched the world go by as we enjoyed a drink. We meandered the streets and perused items made from cork (the local craft). We climbed the towers of the Se and walked across the roof of this stunning cathedral appreciating the 360 views it afforded of Evora and the surrounding countryside. We ate lunch in a sunny courtyard that even at the end of December was warm enough to enjoy being outdoors. People were welcoming and friendly. A special day.

A marvelous old, walled city with lots of history, starting from before the Roman times to the baroque and thereafter! Churches, Palaces, houses, narrow streets...a delight by day and night! The designation of the city as world-heritage site is well-deserved! Lots of good restaurants Highly recommended!

Travel into the major square where there are a number of restaurants, shops and lots to look at.The cobble streets narrow and wind up and down encountering something on every one to take in.You don't have to do a thing, people watching is amazing.

Great location for exploring all the wonderful historical buildings of Evora. Views over the Valleys were great. This walled town was a real treat.

Evora is a smallish town whose historic centre lies within the remains of extensive Roman walls. The whole town has an engagingly historic feel, without being tainted (too much anyway) by crowds and overt consumerism. There are a wealth of monuments to visit, including a Roman aqueduct and the Templo de Diana, a Roman ruin from the first century AD. The Church of Saint Francis is an impressive site to visit, whose Chapel of Bones features walls and pillars made from the bones of thousands of monks exhumed from the nearby cemetery. Rather macabre but breathtaking all the same.

It's unclear what "Evora Complex" refers to but probably the collection of things to see in Evora. It's an excellent day trip and if you love taking photos of medieval type stuff then you'll love this city. There are good restaurants, squares and parks as well.

Evora was a great town and a worthy addition to the trip. Just a short way from Lisbon, it's a completely different world that feels a lot like it probably did centuries ago. When we went there was an extra attraction: a festival just outside the town walls. Basically the whole town took off and was there. Restaurants and businesses were closed but the festival was a way to really immerse yourself with the locals in a way that was touristy in a very different way.
