Really liked it here. There's something for everyone. The museum is very good, lots of history. The grounds and gardens were great, lots of different trees, flowers, etc. The houses are very easy to see into and they are full of antiques. Spent 2 hours here and didn't get enough time to go through and see everything. Employees are very friendly. Will come back again on my next visit.

Beautiful winter homes of both Thomas Edison & Henry Ford. Interesting to learn how they became such good friends. The location of the homes on the river is beautiful. I was disappointed that the only way to view the homes/rooms was from the outside porches looking in through the windows. I guess this is a way of preserving the homes. The grounds were lovely with some many different plantings. Who knew there were so many different varieties of palm trees. Didn't realize Edison & his wife studied plants. Edison's labs were also great to go through and the museum housed many phonographs and other things. Parking is free but we had to park quite a distance away since it was crowded. The crowds did move. Great museum for people of all ages.

We took the guided tour and had a very knowledgeable, friendly guide. We learned a lot about Edison, Ford and the many beautiful plants on the property. This was time and money well spent!! A fun and rewarding learning experience!!

I went with my aunt while visiting back in November. Despite it being November, all the plants were absolutely spectacular. Being a fan of both botany and history, I was thrilled when my aunt presented me with tickets on my 16th birthday. We went on a self guided tour through the grounds and buildings. There was so much to see, smell, and do. We only stayed about 2 hours, and we didn't even begin to see it all. I really enjoyed it, and I can't wait to come back. It may not be appropriate for families with small children, because of the amount of reading, standing around, and looking, but excellent for ages 10 and up. The museums have some lovely, hands on experiences and several demonstrations for the kiddies, however. Everything had easy access and the staff was very helpful and nice. The variety was sensational, and the time I had there was one of the best times I've ever had. I really enjoyed my experience there and hope to come again.~Rachel

The included Audio Tour is an excellent way to see this wonderful Historic Site. From the fully furnished winter homes of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford, the Museum which shows many of Edison's Inventions, to the Beautiful Gardens, this is a Must See. And best of all, we got a great price by Bidding for our tickets on Florida Vacation Auction.

The estate is very pretty with diverse plants on the grounds. The buildings are interesting, too. The museum portion has lots to look at. Lots of information on things that Edison did and lots of surprises for me. There are also a variety of classes that you can sign up for. I've attended a couple and found them well presented and fun. They also have various shows (garden, antique boats, antique cars, T-Birds, etc) that are fun. Give it a try. Programs are presented in German and Spanish also.

We arrived early enough to beat the crowd. And boy there was a crowd when we left. Yes the fee is big but I have no problem paying a lot for the upkeep and preservation of historic sites. I did not mind just looking through the open windows. It keeps the artifacts safe and I could still take plenty of good pictures. The grounds are not as big as the map may indicate so much walking. Great gift shop. We purchased lots of books for my son who wants to be an inventor. Hard to find. The town needs more of those brown signs to indicate historic sites. We ended up over the river and very turned around. I will definitely go again when I have more time to stroll.

I had toured these estates 11 years ago when the Edison home was being restored. This time I was with my cousin and her husband from Minnesota. We enjoyed the tour and the greatly and would recommend ot to anyone of any age. These gentlemen were two giants of early America's industrial development.

The staff was welcoming, and the grounds pretty well kept. We were disappointed that the tours of both of the homes was limited to looking in an open window or door, and did not allow any entry in any home. Parking is also an adventure ( though free). Be prepared to walk a long way from the lot to the ticket building

We did not do the guided tour, we took the tour at our own leisure and enjoyed it very much. So much to see and very well maintained.
